I got the 2885 error code and had no turbo boost after I changed my thermostat and cross over pipe. I needed to disconnect and push back the throttle body/intake during the thermostat and cross over pipe install and upon re assembly I had no turbo boost. Arhh!!! After lots or reading and watching another video on youtube which discusses the vacuum pipe coming out of a vacuum manifold which is installed underneath the inlet manifold/throttle body. So I thought I'd try it and removed my cars intake/throttle body completely and indeed the bottom vacuum hose was more or less out of its connection in the part shown in this video ua-cam.com/video/Ho7ekxEtCCA/v-deo.html Once I reconnected the loose vacuum hose, I put the car back together. Then cleared the engine codes using a mobile phone app and a cheap Bluetooth ODBII reader and went for a drive and..... FULL BOOST AGAIN! 😁 Thought I'd share this as it seems to be a common problem with many possible causes. Worth knowing about this one. 👍 I was getting fault code 2885 before but having cleared all the codes I'm back up and running with no more fault codes! Yes!!! 👍😁
Replace all the hoses... There are 3" hose segments that connect plastic tubing to different accessories. Change all those. I had to do all of mine because they did not seal anymore.
Yeah I checked all my hoses as well for cracks or leaks but they were all ok, it was the vacuum for me. Good to hear you fixed yours tho because the dealer wanted 10000 dollars
Nah I fixed it myself all it had was a collapse vacuum hoses.. I also replaced my valve cover and water pump since mine was leaking, also new belt and clean the intake valves myself. I replaced to the thermostat and the pipe in the back.
What did y do to delete the limp code ? I've tried everything and it won't go off. My 2011 mini Cooper s needs a new throttle body witch I'm getting tomorrow but I still don't know how to delete the limp?
good afternoon I have the same fault p2885. When I revolutionize the engine, this failure of engine failure appears and I lose strength, it does not accelerate the car well. I made a repair of the intake manifold body by reducing the air intake due to annoying noise. From this repair, it immediately appeared the p2885 failure and the petrol pump of the tank, worshiper and carbon filter of the deposit was broken, all in the same week. I also suffer from high fuel since then. Could you tell me how you solved the bug p2885? regards

Bro you just help a lot more people then I probably did with this comment
Ha I can't believe they think people could be stupid! Ha in your face dealer/ mechanic rip off brilliant thank you!
wtf they must be out of mind! Lol thanks your video!
My plausibility fault was a very dirty throttle body. Looked clean on Turbo side but the intake manifold side was greasy with carbon build up.

Great video
Are u in Cali? I only know one guy who has a silver on silver hypersport. Is that u?
I sold it like 4 or 5 years ago man.
@@rowdyrick7091 aww. Wow you’re lucky to own it. Wonder if it’s still alive
For 10 grand did they want to replace the engine and turbo? WTH!

And yes they did want to do all that, half was for the motor and turbo and the other half was for labor
I'm facing the same error... I'll check that, thanks a lot man

Only with a scanner and if the problem is fixed. I pinned a comment with what was my problem

Ok hanks
Mini is the very bada car ofrece bmw
Bmw is very bad
You did all this and code still came out ?
Yea unfortunately I was lacking in mechanical skills and I didn’t have a good code reader to pin point exactly where it was faulting at.
So how was this a 10K fix? These stealerships are unbelievable! 😡😡😡😡
You know how they be acting.
