Max Bygraves was a great entertainer. Lovely to see Howard Keel there! I think that’s James Galway too. A great lineup!
Brings tears to the eyes to see what wonderful entertainment we used to have. Just look at what the BBC give us now. All so depressing, and all with a political agenda.

Just brilliant, it seems at the moment that the best times are behind us
Max was my aunts boyfriend when they were young, my mum used to get to tag along at times, she was 12 years younger than my aunt.
Max was a truly world class performer
The greatest British entertainers endured and brought variety to television and remind us now how much talent we took for granted
Just brilliant. What a fab entertainer Max was.
Brilliant performance from the late and much missed Max Bygraves who sadly we will never see the likes again, I've played this clip so many times and it never fails to bring a smile and makes me not only sing along but so thankful for it being downloaded for all to see.
Max Bygraves would be 100 years old today, October 16, 2022.
MY WONDERFUL MAX GOT ME INTO SHOW-BIZ!!!!!
That's when ENGLAND WAS ENGLISH TODAY A BASKET CASE😢
Oh how I love this. What a wonderful ‘feel good’ that sketch was. I knew Max, and he adored the Queen Mum, she was seemingly in awe of him. My grandma Sarah was one of his biggest fans, and so was I even though we were 2 generations apart.
What have we now to watch? I’m not going to comment !
Great comment
Watched it again and will do again and again, really can't get enough of Nax Bygraves, I hope someone else has video clips of Max that they could share on UA-cam.
When I see that stage, I smile and sob my heart out
Bless you know what you mean
Me too
Why🤔
@@piggyporker1 those were what my mum use to call the good old days
A cavalcade of stars, nothing comes close today. 😢
WOW, what an absolute gem, a big thank you for sharing, the master of Singalong and one of our nation's greatest entertainers of all time when Star status ment they were true stars who put the E into Entertainment, God bless you Max Bygraves and may forever rest in peace.

I was looking at the faces behind him ... most of them gone ...

Hi Phillipe
sadly so true, thankfully we have some fantastic recordings to treasure and relive those magical moments.

Such beautiful memories, sad.y many have long gone but I can still look at them all and realise they were great performers and I miss them all. RIP the stage is empty now but their spirits still linger in our hearts. God bless you all.
I've just read his book 'Stars in my Eyes' - a sort of autobiography. A really good read.
Even when it was published [2002], relatively recently, it seems like a different world now.
Fantastic! The days of real family entertainment. Sadly we shall never see the likes of this again.

Well said
THIS WAS 1984 ….not one envisaged by George Orwell…..that’s not quite here …yet.
What a happy time at the London Palladium. Great performers, marvellous audience, and Max Bygraves. Thanks for the video.
Eric in Australia🐨
This was filmed at the Victoria Palace when lsat minuteI conducted the West Side Story excerpt, I was 23 and now 63.
Great entertainer was Max. Why the hell wasn't he knighted? Oh I get it. Not as talented as David Jason, Lenny Henry and Tony Robinson. That explains it!!
Even knight hoods became a case of who gave more money to the right cause, rather than who had the most talent.

Sometimes but not always.
Henry Mancini singing away behind Max !!!!! my life is complete ! hahaha
Thanks, I was struggling to ID him. Knew the face but--
So many have left us, very sad.
He was brilliant. Just look at who is in background supporting him
Some brilliant stars far better than the rubbish of now adays
Thank goodness for technology now im able to watch this lovely performance in 2024 from South Africa.......❤
Is this available in full?
The passing of Max Bygraves left a void in the world of musical entertainment. We are the less without him.
We don't have singers like this anymore..........I've left a space for you to complete the sentance.
Lovely orchestration
Present royal varieties are garbage
Forty years ago.
Does anyone think Britain is a better place now?
Most definitely not: it has been destroyed!

Good old max lovely to see this we don’t have entertainment like this any my
Privately the queen mother wasn’t that lovely …
When did you meet her?
@@61sven By her own admission she once told a biographer 'I'm not as nice as people think I am'. My dear old Dad, who served in the Royal Navy during WWII, met both The King and Queen. He was in awe of His Majesty but his wife, not at all. He said he sensed a cruel, controlling and ruthless air about her. And I always trusted my dad's judgement.
Queenmother wasnt a nice person ar all.
