Was privileged to be in the chorus in the palace grounds backing up the three singers and on to Hyde Park to sing in the chorus on stage in the evening. Fantastic memories.

we were celebrating the freedoms our parents had struggled and died for. Freedom and democracy. Who's watching this on 15/sept/2020? RIP Vera Lynn x ( probably the beginning of the end of the BBC as we new it)

I remember this well. I was 15 years old at the time; 1995 was a hot summer and I had just done my GCSE exams. Although I knew of Harry Secombe from the Highway programme, I hadn't been familiar with Vera Lynn before then, but have liked her singing ever since. It was a special occasion because so many Second World War veterans were then living, including my grandfather, who I recall wondered what all the fuss was about since he didn't get back to this country until 1946.

This is "nostalgia" that should never be forgotten or lost. Those who think they must "modernize: and turn society upside down are sadly delusional.

The memories of Queen Elizabeth are precious and profound. How the anti royalists can even think they have an edge over those experiences is ludicrous.

I wonder if they ever made an album of the songs from that day? Dame Vera Lynn’s rendition of ‘A Nightingale Sang in Barkley Square’, with its slower pace, was very emotional and very haunting, especially now that The Forces Sweetheart has left us, to join all those boys that she sang for who went before.

Thank You! this has been a wonderful experience to reflect and reminisce. Britain certainly does pomp, circumstance and proprietary with no equal. As I watched and listened to this video, it was rather eerie to listen to Her Majesty the Queen @ 1:02:56. At that point the parallel to the movie "A Royal Night Out!" was so relative. The Queen reminiscing drew such parallels to a wonderful movie, even if "Artistic License" was taken.
