In this video show the steps and procedures necessary to replace the brake pads and brake rotors on the Nissan Titan. Years 2004 through 2015. The same procedures can be taken for replacing brake pads and rotors on a Nissan Armada. Throughout the video I show several tips and tricks to help prolong the life of the brake pads and brake rotors and brake system in hole. Along with some tools to help you get the job done quicker. I hope you find this video helpful to you. If it has, please like and subscribe. If you have and question. Please leave them in the comment section. Thanks for watching - Авто та транспорт
Thanks for the nice video, it is really helpful since soon I have to do my brakes.God bless.
Glad to hear, cheers!
Thank you so much for this video.
I didn't grow up with a dad to teach me this stuff so you're a life saver to me. The mechanics around my place are thieves when it comes to prices. I'm poor so these videos help me alot
Aaron Hines is a Hero. Teaching us how to fix our problems without relying on someone else. You're the man Aaron! Thank you for all the great videos.
Thanks man, I keep coming back to your videos every time I have to do maintenance on my titan
You're a savior, my friend. We have a 2010 Armada that has been acting up lately. Thanks for the videos.
no problem! thanks for the support!
Excellent tip on the difference size bolts for the '04-'07 being 14/21mm and '08-'15 being 17/18mm. Thanks! Great video!!
Thank your sir!
Thank you for this! The pins on the drivers side were seized ... we had to use an air chisel to pop them loose. Got em lubed up and good as new
Fairly good video, but I have a couple of suggestions. When it comes to compressing the pistons, it is better to apply a small pair of vise grips to the rubber part of the brake line. Don't try to crush it to death, just squeeze it hard enough to close off flow. Then loosen the bleeder valve and compress the pistons. This prevents pushing old burnt and dirty fluid back into the system and allows clean fluid to the pistons. When nearing full compression of pistons, lock off the bleeder to prevent air from entering the system, remove vise grips and fully seat pistons. You will have to top off the reservoir after doing this. Also, when applying grease to the slider pins, use silicone grease designed for extreme heat (as the factory does), not wheel bearing grease which will dry out and become thick and gummy over time, which will cause uneven application of the slide caliper sooner or later. One should always remove excess grease (as seen on the pin seals) as this attracts and holds dirt which will always find a way past the seals. After full assembly, I always apply and release the brakes to expand the brakes, then crack open the bleeders to ensure there is no air in the system. Pressure bleeding will not be necessary and when the bubbles, if any, stop, system is air free. Otherwise, this is a pretty good repair video.
Just did the job. All instructions are good. My only critique would be to warn people about over torquing the caliper guide bolts. Although you did specify the torque specs, for some reason my torque wrench didn't click on this and I stripped them. Other than that I saved a TON of cash thanks to you!
Great video, excellent tips and explanation of doing it right!
this video helped quite a bit....I wanted to say thank you
2023, still a great video. Thanks!
Awesome video, love doing right the first time!
Excellent video. Super informative. Thank you
Great how to and step by step including size of tools!
On 2013 Titan there are two wire type retainer clips that fit on the brake pad the keep the pads from rubbing the disk when brake are not applied. From what I can see... they are not really needed. Thanks for the DIY video. Big help
Awesome vid! Very helpful!
Great video very helpful thanks
Everything was very well done.
Excellent video. Thank you
Excellent presentation! Bravo!
Very well put together, thanks for saying the torques too. A suggestion would be to pre spray with sea foam spray for easier nut release as the larger ones are a bit of a bitch so a breaker bar is also suggested.
Thanks
Thank you sir going to save me a lot of money labor!
Thanks for the pro tips.
Great instruction video. Thanks
You rock! Very thorough! Appreciated...
Liked and subscribed, good video. Thanks man
Damn Brother jst bought a 2006 4x4 and thanks God all I have needed to do it yiuve had the answer I learned and saved so much 🙏 can you do a video on the Rear leave springs REPLACEMENT AND how to remove the ABS AND SLIP LIGHT OLZ AND THANK YOU FOR THE CONFIDENCE YOU HAVE GIVIN ME 😀🙏
good video!
thanks for the video. I would suggest you use brake caliper grease (cheap) instead of regular grease. if regular grease gets on the pads it can cause them to get grabby.
Awesome dude, Thanks!
Great Job . Thanks!
Great video my bolt sizes in 07 are 19 for mount 14 for caliper
ur the man aaron
thanks for your time brother
Good and basic content. I have always had my rotors, but it seems to be a thing of the past, nowadays.
Great video strait to the point. Very clear and precise. Too many ramble without keeping on track. Look forward to more repair videos from this channel. Have 2 Nissan's armada and titan. Will have to replace the manifolds on the Armada soon. Not sure if it's a job I wanna tackle. If you get one of those it would be great to watch. Thanks
Did you have to do the manifolds? Have to do my Titan’s likely soon.
Just replaced mine with the JBA kit from Cajun. It suuuucked, but it sounds so good now. Way more power too.
You got the bolt and nut size backwards! I went to liwes and bought a 21mm to remove caliber bracket on my o7 but it takes a 18mm. Thanks for your wisdom.
Good job
Excellent
I think this is the 3rd time I've watched this video, at least the second since I've already liked it, but nice to watch again before I do the brakes. I pull a damn trailer so I have to do this every two years. Went with EBC brakes this time, hopefully they'll last longer. I'm replacing the rotors again. I'll see what they look like and maybe I'll keep them and reuse if they don't have any gouges because the sound I here is from the "plastic tab" which I don't think is actually plastic. The outside looks good, I'll have to find out what the inside looks like. I read these ECB rotors are really nice though so we'll see. I have Power Stop rotors now.
Hello good morning, I'm about to change my brakes and I would like to know if the discs can be rectified? I hope you can answer me as quickly as possible.
I have torque wrench to 150 pound only can I put 150 only ? Thanks good video ... oh one more question the torque for rear is same ?
Hey brother I have an 07 titan…just changed front wheel hub assembly, rotors, calipers, bracket, and pads on both front sides. When I finished putting things to torque specs I put vehicle to the ground and both sides and attempted to move the front brakes feel engaged. I jacked it back up and noticed they do not spin freely. Any ideas on what to do?
You rock
So it's ok to compress the pistons in the caliper without opening the bleed valve?
If I only can replace the pads can I just stop at 2:52, take out the old pads, put in the new ones, then put the caliper back on?
Do you use thread locker on the caliper bolts? And if so what color?
My brake pedal goes to the floor,, I can't get it to tighten up.. any ideas?? I just put new pads and rotors on my 2015 Titan Pro4X. Rotors matched. All was a breeze
Great video - thank you so much! Do you happen to know what socket sizes I need to replace the rotors on 2018 Armada? Are torques the same: 155 ft-lb and 32 ft-lb?
The factory 2011 Nissan Titan manual (Revision: August 2010) states Sliding Pin Bolt is 53 ft-lb and Torque Member Bolt is 110 ft-lb. If replacement of brake caliper is necessary, the Union Bolt is 13 ft-lbs.
The nut that holds the rotor, what size is it? What torc or pressure should it be tight at?
God bless
I'm new to all this and am curious as to if you know why there is such a huge difference in torque specificarions on the two bolts 35 to 155 is a big difference and my torque wrench only goes to 150 lol. I really don't want to jave to buy a new weench 🤣
good day, you will have video of how to change the front suspension, Regards
yes, they are a bit older so sorry if they arnt the best of quailty. i have one for replacing the front struts

I'm not a mechanic but I do work on my vehicles if it's not to difficult. I've always let the pro's do my brakes b/c they're important. I've got a '08 Titan that I've been told I'll have to replace all the brake components due to rust. To save money I thought I may clean them instead & replace parts if necessary. Any thoughts or tips is greatly appreciated. Any suggestions on which videos I should watch before I do anything?
Well, just like doing "drum brakes"...You do one wheel at a time so you have an "example" how ev'ry thang goes back together....Lucky for you, they aint drum brakes....
Hey Aaron Hines, is that crack in the bolt housing okay? (seen @ 6:51)
Are the bracket bolts (18mm) reverse thread?
Great video thanks! Do you take your master brake cap off before squeezing in the brake cylinder?
Thank you! No I did not. It is a little harder to compress the piston with the cap on but no big deal. If you have ever added brake fluid or if the fluid is above or near the full line, I would definitely remove the cap and maybe remove some fluid. Thank!
Aaron Hines hey Aaron. I did all four rotors and brakes. I removed the cap and upon pressing in all the cylinders it lifted the fluid to the max line, then spilled out over the top which was great to get rid of any extras for me and then once i was done and put the cap on and hit the brake until it got hard moving the pistons closer to the pads the fluid line sank down to the perfect max line and have had great brakes ever since. Drove a 100 miles today no squeaks and great braking. Hope others tune into your videos for help. Thanks again!
Thanks bud! Good job and it sure does feel good to know the job was done right!
Great vid! Thanks.
Question: is it necessary to have the new rotors turned before installing them?
Is bleeding necessary after changing brakes?
Did your rotors fit the old hubs?
Seems like they changed the sizes in 08-09.
Hub and rotor didn't match for me
Any thoughts on negatives of the squealer bar, damaging rotors etc
Ya I have seen that a couple of times. Most of the time it cuts a grove too deep to be machined. Most bars are bonded to the pad. I have came across a few sets of pads from Oreillys and Napa where you can remove the bar if you wish. However I wouldn’t recommend it. I would rather have a squeaker/wear bar contact the rotor, then have metal to metal contact from worn pads. Causing major braking issues. Cheers!
At 6:50, is that support cracked?
How come the cluster is the 08 plus
What calipers
It looked like the caliper bracket had a crack in it near the bolt.
Ok so what about these little wire retainer clips ?
Any need to bed the brake pads once installed?
No. No need
DID YOU COMPRESS THE PISTONS BACK IN?
ZM E yes
Is it not necessary to bleed the brake fluid?
Since no lines were Open, it is not necessary to bleed the brake system
how did you remove the rotor sir, mine is stuck!
A large hammer!
What if I'm changing the caliber as well
You will need to bleed the brakes after replacing the caliper! Make sure the brake fluid reservoir never gets empty while the brake lines are detached
@@AaronHinesAuto thanks for the quick reply 👍
FORGOT TO MENTION CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUID LEVER DURING AND AFTER THE JOB.
You need some new sockets !!!
Very helpful video man.
