    I'm 46 and had the chance to take TRT. My T was 155 and I felt terrible.
    Instead of taking TRT I instead lost 28 lbs. T then went to 265. Now I am at 355 and still climbing. There seems to be a direct parallel to body fat % and natural T levels.

Went on TRT for i think about a year and felt much better, but then I also went through a bit of depression during the Covid time and couldn't be bothered to inject myself so went off it for just over a year. Everything went to shit I got super lazy, argued with my wife ALOT, and sex was the last thing on my mind. This past year I shook myself out of my funk around March (?) started a keto diet, lost a bunch of weight, started going to the gym and felt stronger again, but something was still missing. Went back on TRT and honestly my life improved immensley, I'm more alert, my diet is dialed in, I'm having super intense workouts and my sex life is fkn' amazing. Around 50 myself. Athlete my whole life, still in gym 3+ times a week for last 20 years, etc. Tried TRT and LOVED it. Strength, fat loss, easy gains, etc. After about a year, acne showed up on back a lot. Tried everything to get rid of, couldn’t, so after 3 more months stopped.
      Would love to go on again but the acne was just too much. But, when it was good….. it was great.

    • @user-sg8kq7ii3y
      @user-sg8kq7ii3y Рік тому +10

      @@jdog6620 And that's the reason I would not take steroids. My philosophy is this: As we age, we're SUPPOSED to get weaker. That's part of nature. To go against nature is foolish because there will always be some consequence - whether acne, shrinking testicles, increased cholesterol, hair loss, higher risk for heart attacks, etc. I have no problem in exercising and eating right to preserve strength and fitness as long as possible. But, once drugs are introduced, things immediately become unnatural because now you're using chemicals to try to combat the natural aging process, and this is a futile battle because nature will still take its course. Would I be stronger if I took steroids? Yes I would. But I prefer to go the natural path and use hard work and effort to preserve my strength as long as possible as I age. Doing things, the old fashioned way, without drugs, is definitely not easy; however, it builds mental strength and fortitude knowing that you are doing things naturally. And it gives me confidence that everything I do is natural. That's just my opinion. I have no issues with those who take TRT and who are helped by taking it. Each person must do what is right for him. But all I am saying is consider consequences in whatever choice you make.

I honestly think I've probably had low T for a lot of years without noticing. My T level was around 200. Most likely it has been an issue my entire life. My dad and my brothers, all had thick full beards, whereas I had pretty much no facial hair. I always thought it would come as I got older, but it just never came. That combined with being tired all the time and having brain fog for many years (at least since mid of 20's), leads me to believe I've always had this issue.

    I'm 42 and I've been on TRT for six years now. I get a Nebido shot (Testosterone Undecanoate) every 8-9 weeks, and a blood test every six months. My levels have been super stable in the high "normal range" for years now and I've felt fantastic. Strength, drive, libido, clarity, focus, sleep quality, mood, energy, recouperation, body composition.. Everything is back to how I felt in my early 20's. No side effects. For ageing guys with low T, it should be a no brainer to get on doctor supervised TRT. I'm not sure why more doctors aren't prescribing Undecanoate in the US. It's a much better compound for stable TRT levels than Enanthate and Cypionate and you don't have to get injections every week.

I do have a thyroid issue as well and that is managed properly. @@atag512 That's great man. I would say that the effect you describe from the "natural" test booster is unfortunately most likely 100% placebo. When a man takes synthetic testosterone, like Nebido, the brain detects the excess and stops production of LH and FSH. That means the body quits producing intratesticular (natural) testosterone, and consequently, production of sperm due to the suppression of LH and FSH. A test booster will not cause the testicles to start producing natural testosterone while on TRT. I'm glad you're doing well though, and I'm happy that you've had good results with Nebido (like me). Right now this may seem appealing, "equal amount of quality life, just in a shorter time" but after a while you would grow numb to it because its everyday life + youre gonna be dead in a couple years with that thought lurking inside your head all the time.

    Got a question: if a person's obese and he/she wants to get healthy, what's the best route: 1) just losing fat or 2) lose fat and increase muscle (like bodybuilding or other sport)? Would just lose fat (diet and/or lifestyle) increase more longevity than lose fat and increase muscle (e.g. "transformation")?

    • @mynameisviktorreznov

      If a person is obese…then anything they do to get them to lose weight is going to be very beneficial. Obviously weight training while losing weight is going to help retain muscle which is will help in keeping the fat off. So A combo of light cardio and weights is a solid plan. Best of luck

      Long term adherence is the key. Statistically most diets fail so start off with something easy to stick to i.e. keep the same diet but reduce portion size & go for a 10-30 min walk 3 times per week.
      From a good starting point you can build, eating more fruits & veg, increase protein intake, add weight training. Do not be too restrictive with your lifestyle to the point of missing eating out with friends, birthdays, holidays etc .
      If you fall off the wagon and gain a few pounds its not the end of the world and certainly not a failure, go back to the basics of portion control.
      Good luck.

      Both. Loose fat and gain muscle. It's "easier" to loose/burn fat than muscle especially over time since the body adapts to muscle growth and stimulus' like weightlifting. Except for a beginning weightlifter. But either fat loss or muscle gain is goin to help longevity. But both are goin to help more. The best plan of action is to loose fat by "eating correctly " (don't even consider it "dieting". Eating a Mediterranean focused diet which is high protein & high healthy fats focused, Then loose more fat by moving more(fidgeting literally burns calories) burning calories =fat loss as long as your calorie intake is proper. 2,000 per day is fine once 1 gets active. Also introducing fasting protocols like intermittent fasting will not only help but help extremely well burn fat off. Get to walking, swimming, battle ropes, rock throws, medicine ball slams, all for sets and reps to jack the heart rate up and don't even think about running until down to a relatable size to run! It's all a process and takes time. Just focus on doing small things at 1st that move 1 into the correct direction until 1 can do more. Then you can do even more because you'll be able to. You'll get better at eating cleaner and moving more. Those small victories add up to the big victories! Clean eating = cooking basically. Getting away from "instant" foods, microwave meals and anything processed. Treat the worst of foods like BAD DRUGS . If a person can't fully throw them out of the diet, then moderate them to the least possible. And change up your daily habits that put you face to face with those terrible foods. Don't buy them and DONT stock them so that if 1 can't fight the craving, 1 MUST WALK to the store and PHYSICALLY pick them up! Make it almost excruciating to obtain or divulge in anything unhealthy. And work for it if you must. Sugar and bad processed foods ARE 100% LIKE DRUGS and our bodies WILL WITHDRAW FROM & CRAVE THEM! But thankfully the withdrawal is literally weak compared to actual drugs and it's more of a thought interference. Follow Andrew hubberman, Joe Rogan, David goggins, Dr. Berg, Athlean X, to name a few and dive down their rabbit holes of info and avoid "fitness influencers" that aren't cemented in truth learning to spot everyone's angles along the way. Good luck to you or whomever you intend to help!

    There's some Misinformation in there, when he said that stuff about the Longevity Community he said they intake less protein and make themselves protein deficient, but actually protein supports longevity, eating more protein will probably make you live longer because the body needs it for organs and stuff and if you look at the people that live the longest(Japan for example) then you will realize that they consume way more protein on average than we westerns. One important thing to keep in mind is that they also consume their organs especially the liver which has many important micro nutrients, and they also eat a wide variety of proteins Everything from Duck, Beef, Pork to Fish and Seafoods. The unhealthy thing is only if you consume more protein and Calories than you would normally need and get as massive as a bodybuilder, also important to keep in mind here is that a big reason (professional)body building is so unhealthy is because they eat very frequently which holds there glucose levels up constantly which is extremely harmful for the liver and other organs.
