I understand my HX stomp a lot more since watching your vids, keep up the great work Jonny
That’s awesome to hear mate . Thanks for being here .
You have such a beautiful accent :)
Very useful feature in Helix, the only thing I don't like - how I hear a mix of real strings and processed sound, especially without headphones :D It always drives my mad xD
Cheers mate , yeah you have to play louder to cover that sound up 😎
I can’t wait to try this! You’re gonna save my life! Tks Jonny!
Let me know how it goes dude .
The pitch shift for tuning is workin great , only weirdness is hearing the actual natural ring of the strings warbling with the amp output but i guess just crank amp up louder lol but on another note , this is a really great sounding preset on just its tone alone , just playing standard is worth adding to preset library, ok im gonna leave ya alone mr Johnny have a great day
Have a great day mate 😎
Never messed around with the alternative tunings on the Helix but it sounds good to my lug holes. Might have a play with that when I get home this evening... Nice one mate, as usual.
Cheers mate, let me how you get on .
“Something nice in the comments”. 🤘🎸
Thanks brother 😅
Before getting myself a drop I used the simple pitch on the stomp and it worked just fine with gain even when dropping down to A, it got a bit weird with cleaner stuff but if you use a full on Helix even the Poly Capo takes care of that.
And personally I only hear hints of artifacts of whatever when I'm playing alone through headphones, in a mix (be it live, rehearsal or even recording) it's quite impossible to tell
I agree
That sounded perfectly fine. I've only really buggered about with the poly capo but that can get warbly, depending on the chords. I must try the simple pitch!
Yep simple pitch is where it’s at .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist you'd think the capo would be better.. Bizarre eh
@@Crabfather it’s weird . I can’t understand why it’s not .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist In my experience, gain hides a lot of the warble that Simple Pitch can bring to your tone. Try comparing Poly Capo and Simple Pitch with clean tones.
@@foxmeisteruk for me I just prefer pitch than capo . I hear what you’re saying about clean times tho , the fractal is the same .
Thanks, great and entertaining video as always :-). What are your thoughts about the poly-capo vs the simple pitch?
I honestly think poly capo is ok but I prefer pitch , seems more stable to me .
Oh my freakin god my johnny ive been fighting trems and actuslly buyimg extra guitars just to play motley crue ect and didnt realize pitch shift will work maybe most imp video ive watched thank u sir
Cheers mate, let me know how it works for you .
@JonnyLeeguitarist sent you a coffee Mr Johnny thanks for all your help
Mate ! Thanks for the support I truly appreciate it 🙏
Sounded like a normal guitar. Do you think Pitch Shift works better (less artifacts) when shifting down or up? My Strat is tuned down 1/2 step, as it just sounds better for some reason. Being able to get a stable Pitch Shift up a 1/2 step would be useful for obvious reasons. Any special tips for that?
I thought I had Subscribed long ago, but just checked, and I wasn't. 🤷 So, I just Subscribed again, as you consistently produce excellent content, great tones, and your sense of humor cracks me up. 😂
Thanks
Either would work , I just prefer pitch over poly with these settings , I have one guitar tuned down a half step and use pitch to come back to standard literarily for 3 songs live . Works perfectly for me .
I really like the Poly(anything pitch wise). They take up a lot more processing power but (imo) do a far better job of removing artifacts and keeping notes in tact.
Yeah they’re very DSP hungry
Good tip, put it at the front
It’s the law 😎
I am using the same pitch fx block in some of my band's songs and works really good live. BUT, I am having some troubles while I go on clean sounds... Seems like it catches more artifacts. How do Poly Pitch and Poly Capo work?
Clean is never really that great to be honest , capo works good , but you’ll probably still catch the wobbles .
Yeah, i am experincing a lotof wobbles actuallly... Trying to figure out how to solve@@JonnyLeeguitarist
I use the poly capo to detune, very handy For drop C tuning, Drop your guitar to Drop d and use the poly capo to drop C.And I have a nice result !
Yeah I do that in a Linkin Park tribute I sometimes gig with .
Man this kicks ass!
Thanks mate 😎
@@JonnyLeeguitarist subbed and snagged a bunch of your presets.
@@hexn00b52 thanks mate !
FULL GLASS THANKS JONNY LEE !!!!!!!*******
Thanks for watching mate
Case DISMISSED , it obviously works fine. and average Joe wouldn't hear anything out of the norm to begin with 🤔 OH and here go " SOMETHING NICE " NICE !!!!! 🎸🎵🎶
😂. Thanks man
This may solve a problem I’m having
Awesome
@@JonnyLeeguitarist I’ll let you know. I’m playing with it now
Definitely taking up to much power to let me run it with my distortion. Bummer. Back to the drawing board.
@@tattooeditalian2895 in helix or hx stomp ?
@@JonnyLeeguitarist it’s a helix
Always thought the Helix did a good job here, but I haven't used it much because if I want to alter tunings like that I use my Variax, which is the dog's doo-dahs when it comes to that sort of thing.
Yep variax is awesome for this .
Say something nice.... your mum said your dad seamen tastes like Nutella so that's a nice thing to say isn't it. But seriously this was a handy video good job. Get a sonic maximizer bro straight up and run it on all instruments
😂😂
Something nice in the comments.
😅 thanks man
The Simple Pitch in the Helix is great. The poly capo is complete garbage. They spent a year making a poly effects that stinks.
Yeah I’m not a fan of the poly capo .
@@JonnyLeeguitarist when it came out I sat there and a/b’d it with the simple pitch on 1 switch and couldn’t understand how they even let it pass through development. When its on in the helix and set to literally do nothing it even messes up your tone signal.
@@schlagdog some people have great results with it . I just don’t get anything I like with it . Pitch is great for me tho .
I need to give this a go, we have ONE song that the band (bass player) learnt in the wrong key (learnt it concert but it was already detuned and has been playing it that way for years) - the band plays detuned for everything - so I have a 2 stops down guitar I have to swap to for 1 song!! Wireless and strap, what a pain!
It works 😎
@@JonnyLeeguitarist Just simple pitch rather than poly?? It's Sombody Told Me by killers, so ringing open B??
@gibfear simple pitch is the best
@@JonnyLeeguitarist Thanks for the input
