    Thanks for the demo on this polisher PapaSmurf! Maxshine has really put together a well packaged polisher for the price. Good to see that at least for the Series II of the Pro polishers it seems to be doing a great job at resisting the pad stalling for you. My brother has the first gen non pro-version of the M15 that I sent over to him, I got awesome results out of it and he's enjoying it a bunch for his first polisher. I had a little bit of time behind the M15 Pro Series II at Mobile Tech Expo and it felt well built, really comfortable.

    Glad you love it man. You went from not bad to fantastic after changing to that 5 inch bp. Maxshine does have amazing service. They sent me a few small pets I needed and shipped immediately. Tristan is awesome too. He helped me get my m15 pro in there quickly then replaced it. He also told me that shroud can actually be cut off as it’s not needed which might help whaling not stall at all vs putting more washers on it. Good stuff. Enjoy!

    Believe it or not I'm still happy with my M8S. With 900 watts of power it works awesome. I've had my eyes on the Maxshine M15, especially when they put it on sale for $120 with some pads. I have a feeling I will be getting that soon. Pan likes it so that's a sale for me. On another note, I went to the ER this morning. I've been struggling with illness since the last week of May. turns out I have chronic bronchitis. I was taken care of and feel a lot better. What up PapaSmurf! Been a while. Been bucu busy here in the desert heat! Have to admit I like my G9 but it stalls on me and or the at times loses power? I have the 25 ft cord and have not pulled tugged or bent it but right in the middle of something it will just stop. Plus it gets way to hot for my liking. I know it's hot here in the desert so I have the car I'm working on in my garage with a swamp cooler going and an extra fan to keep the heat down but the G9 still gets hot. Was looking into going to a 21mm and you might have just sold me on the MaxShine Pro. I love the 3D One. I have two bottles. One 16 oz and one 32oz. I just use the 16 oz while I'm working and keep the 32oz along with all my other waxes, ceramics, etc in the house to keep cool. Garage gets way to hot to store things in the summer 🥵. • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  3 роки тому +2

      Eric, for your first polisher I'd recommend starting out with a short throw polisher... like the Griots G9 or the Maxshine M8 or M8s.. just to get used to a polisher and paint. Starting with an long throw polisher could potentially start ya out correcting faster then you'd like... unless you are confident in your learning and adapting then a 15mm could be a great choice.

  • @MegaKreepah

    A couple questions to see if you or anyone can answer for me. I'm expecting opinions from other DIYers based on experience in the detailing world. I'm a beginner and never had a DA machine before but have used the headlight restoration kit+drill combo in the past. There's a sale going on for the M15($135) and the M21($147), thinking about the M21 though more since it looks like the better longer throw for my price range. What machine would you recommend as an all rounder machine that can do paint restoration + polishing/wax maintenance for personal use, that also has potential for modifications, if my budget is $160? What are the main differences between M15/21 and the pro version of them? How often does Maxshine or any other brand around my budget does sales? Do you think on black Friday there will be sales on DA polishing machines? How often do companies make newer versions of DA polishers? I don't see myself buying more polishing machines in the future and want to make a good first time investment and see where it goes from there. I also contemplated about buying a Harbor Freight polisher just for because it's a more cheaper route but worried I will regret it later on. I want to buy a machine that will have advantages in the long term+short term if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance for you and anyone else's time.

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  3 роки тому +1

      Kevin, hope all is well my friend! To answer your question simply is kind of hard as there are SO many polishers... but, the Maxshine m15 and M21 I believe are there 900 watt motors.. they don't have a few features like the soft start and the flat spot on back to lie the polisher on it's back and it won't tip over. Minor things like that. Also, the budget.. if you budget is only 160 then I'd definitely consider the Griots Garage G9. It's a 9mm throw though. Sit at 150 bucks. You will want the 5 inch back plate which is another 20-30 bucks. So figure that puts you around 190. However your looking for something to grow with and not have to buy another down the road.. so although the Harbor freight is great to learn on, as that was my first polisher. You will learn an out grow it. I think the best bet for you is the Maxshine M15pro or the Pro Series II. I have had the M15pro and I had some issues with it and was the upgraded to the M15pro series II. I absolutely love it. Its 1000watts.. 15mm long throw. I think it's a very easy polisher to learn on and you will grow with that polisher and be able to achieve great results.. the 21mm for you I think is a bit out of what your looking for. That will yield quick an fast cutting for defect removal. I don't think you will need that to be honest.. Maxshine does for sure have sales often on there polishers 👍 so I'd look into the M15pro Series II. If you have any other questions feel free to ask my friend! I wanna help you get setup 🤝

      I appreciate the time and effort you put into your response.
      Would you say that the Maxshine M15 pro is the best bang for your bang for a 15mm compared to Griots or Flex machines? How long would you estimate it would take a rookie to do a 2 or 3 step process on a medium sized sedan with 9mm orbital polisher? I know it depends on a lot of factors but just wondering if you can give me an rough estimate for a decent job..

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail

      @@MegaKreepah no problem my friend!! So the M15Pro series II is I think the best bang for buck polisher. The G9 is only 9mm. Very stout machine but the long throw polisher will get you faster results. Flex, well they are very well built machines just out of my price range lol. As far as how long for a correction? With abrasive technology now, 3 steps are not really needed. Shoot I've done a 1 step correction and had awesome results. Usually anywhere from 6-20 hours.

Ect.. stick to foam to start and as you grow kore confidence bump up to more aggressive urofiber or microfiber pads👍👍

      No problem man! They both have there purpose as the 21mm will correct quicker but the long throw can sometimes be a hassle unless on big flat panels.. the M15proII would still be my go to if I had to buy 1👍👍 15mm is versatile.. can cut and polish with it. The 21mm usually is for cutting.. I'll then finish with my 15mm..

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail

      Anthony, all depends on your budget. The G9 is a great starter unit for SURE. Also, the Maxshine M8s is a great starter unit for a cheaper price. If you have the money I'd say go with the G9. If your on a budget the Maxshine M8s would be next in line. 👍🏻

      Honestly if your looking for a 3 inch polisher. I'd recommend the G9/G8 combo for sure. They have a kit 👍🏻 I looove my G9/8 combo. As far as All in one.. 3d one and sonax are not all-in-one products.. they don't have any protection. An AIO leaves protection behind. 3d Speed is an AIO. 👍🏻

      Ahh ok.. 3d one I think will have more cut as it's a compound/polish in one.. all pad dependent. It will cut on a microfiber pad well but finish just as good on a polish pad👍🏻 Sonax PF is more a finish polish

    For a beginner, which one would you recommend then? M15 vs M21? Difference between long throw vs short throw polishers? Are you planning to replace the grease just like what you did on the M15? Did Maxshine ever address the shortcomings of the M15 on previous video? Right now I am planning to purchase a Maxshine polisher but not sure which one to get. Any good advice you could give? You always have great tutorials and reviews of different products out there!

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  4 роки тому +1

      Raymond, thanks man! Appreciate that! So for a beginner I'd definitely go with the M15pro series II. The difference between them is.the throw.. when it osolates as it is spinning it will throw 15mm or 21mm from the center point.. the longer the throw the faster defect removal you can achieve. The " long throw " polishers are the 15mm and 21mm... they also have a M8s short throw which is only 8mm throw. And it's under 100 dollars. You could even begin with that machine and once you are comfortable under a polisher then step up to a M15pro Series II. 👍🏻 I do plan on swapping out the grease In this as well which makes run a tad smoother and a little quieter.. please feel free to ask if you need any tips or advice.. I'm no professional by ANY means but if I can help I will!!!🤝🏻✊🏼

The 9mm throw is was got me to stray away to the bigger long throw polishers.. Maxshine has been having quality control issues lately ... I don't use it daily nor very often since though. For a weekend warrior it's plenty 🤜🤛 i like the 15mm just cause its a grwat overall machine. My own personal experience has been of a very flimsy fiber on them, the foam pad is like jelly, the microfiber urofiber "new technology material" also very low cutting edge. I used to have a car wash and detail business inside shopping malls and hotels in Miami Beach and Miami from 2016-19, sold it that year. I know what these pads are good for, definitely not for professional use or daily detail work, but that's my personal opinion: foam base too weak and the fiber not the greatest one, behind the competition big time.
