Could be many reasons why it seems steadier. Some scenes were shot with tripod and some shot through opened car window using the frame as support. I I might also have put in more time in the post stabilizing work.
Can you tell me how this compares to the 16-50 mm lens in the lower end of the 18-200mm range? My guess is that the 16-50mm is much better than the 18-200 at say 35mm?
+Daniel Audet Hi Daniel - Sorry for late reply. I'd say the long zoom is very good in the middle register, and actually better than I thought round 200 mm zoom. I would think the short zoom beats 18-200 when it comes to 18-20 mm region. If you can get hands on the premium short and long zoom for a reasonable price, you should go for them..Beats my stuff any day//Cheers R
Do you have any footage of the 18-200mm at the lower end of the magnification range? Any experience with the 16-50mm kit lens? I am not sure the Prime S lens warrants the price for video.
Hi Daniel - I could not find any clips I know for sure has been zoomed out with this particular lens. I can perhaps shoot a couple of scenes tomorrow and post them on youtube. //Cheers R
+Daniel Audet Daniel - I was out a few hours ago and shot some footage on the 18 mm notch. Here you can judge for yourself . It is not bad, but the premium zoom is definitely better. Yes, I think it is pretty good! Do you have any footage with a wide angle lens other than this one to compare? I realize there is a lot out there but who knows how much work has been done in post with some of these videos.
I'm thinking of buying the NX1 and this lens. How are you still finding the two since having them? This video looks amazing. I'm intend to take the two on a round the world trip, but I want to be able to capture some good shots of sailing yachts and the ocean, hopefully some ocean wildlife too.
+6969SpAcE6969 Hi - Sorry for late reply. I am sure you will not be disappointed with the NX1 or the 18-200 lens. I have not tried the 16-50 2-2,8 zoom, but as I understand it extremely sharp and fast enough. Actually I have found the cheap power zoom good enough for most shooting. An NX1 + 16-50 + 18-200 would make a perfect kit for your round-the-world tour. Don't forget this is also a very good camera for stills Good luck on your trip../Cheers R
+6969SpAcE6969 ..as I said the NX1 is a very potent stills camera. the 18-200 is good for stills, BUT saying this, you have to remember it is still a very wide-ranged zoom with all its limitations regarding sharpness och certainly speed. I guess the higher priced 50-150 might be abetter solution for stills. I have never tried the 50-150 but according to the price tag I am sure it is very good..
thanks for showing how versatile this lens can be!
Wow, very good. Thx for uploading
+Jan Schoenfeld Hi Jan - Thanks for the nice words /Cheers Ron

Friend, I have a Panasonic GH4 with Sigma 18-35mm + SpeedBooster and I'm thinking of migrating to NX1 with 16-50s. It's a good deal?
EVEN ME I SOLD MY GH5 FOR THE NX1. AFTER 6 YEARS IT IS THE TOP.

How's this lens for all round stills with the NX1?

Why is this so much less bouncy than your other video?
Greetings... What video editing software did you use for all the transitions?
