We’re excited to announce the release of the first documentary in our docuseries: How We Thrive!
Meet the Pioneer and Inspirational Force Behind Gold Tone Music Group
“How We Thrive” is a docuseries profiling female entrepreneurs and the impact their businesses have made on the world. From one of the world’s more prolific acoustic instrument companies, to a Senegalese entrepreneur trying to combat the poverty image - each episode follows the creation and growth of a specific company, the trials and tribulations experienced, and the knowledge gained - with the hopes of inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs.
We chose women who not only do business well, despite all of the roadblocks: funding, regulation, competitive markets, but women who are passionate about what they do - women who are striving to make a difference.
In this first episode, discover how Robyn Rogers turned her backyard workshop into a multi-million-dollar business while juggling her responsibilities as a wife and mother.
Tag an inspiring (or aspiring!) entrepreneur in the comments! And to learn more about what entrepreneurism is, check out FEE’s free online course, “What Is Entrepreneurship:"

Congratulations to Robyn and all the great people at Gold Tone! You’re wonderful!
I own a Gold Tone bsnjo - the service and product is second to none! Thank you for making all of this happen.
This is a great documentary of a great story. Yes! Everyone you meet, everything that happens, is placed in your life for a reason though you it might be years before you understand the reason, the why of life. I finally bagged a Gold Tone AC-5 banjo to get back to square one of learning to play, ordered, received and installed the first of the upgrade parts from Gold Tone last night. The satin curly maple armrest is a great addition! Bela Fleck is an inspiration, and we have had a banjo with the Rockin' B Ranch band performing as part of the Sunday message at 1st Pres Downtown Coeur d'Alene. The sound engineer that morning from the old choir loft asked, "Does the banjo need to be mic'd?" In unison, the four musicians on stage and I replied, "Banjos don't need to be mic'd!" Not in a space built in 1905... acoustically lively building...
Thanks to Robyn & Wayne Rogers and family for accepting the call to their adventure (venture, too) in music.
I love this family and this story!!!
I love my Gold Tone banjos (two of 'em) and I greatly admire the Rogers family. Bless their hearts.
I met Wayne Rogers last night just before our set at Riverhawk Festival at Sertoma Youth Ranch, near Brooksville, Florida. Really nice guy. He was curious about my set up with my Gold Tone LS-8 steel. I love that they're a family owned and operated company. We need more of them.
After a great amount of researching Gold Tone, I called and placed my order, much to my surprise, I found that these folk are genuinely interested in providing their customers with exactly what they are looking for, Amanda Rogers sent pictures, I made my decision and she did the rest, I can’t tell you how impressed I am with these guys, thanks Amanda, I will be telling all my friends about y’all
I just bought one of the new AC-1FL fretless banjos, and it arrived flawless, perfectly setup and in tune, even with Nylgut strings. My first Gold Tone, and I am impressed completely with the product and customer service.
Congratulations for such a great job through so many years.
I love the story, I love my ME-Bass Micro! Thank you so much guys!
What a wonderful documentary.
Gold Tone - that is, the Rogers - make great banjo ukuleles too. I have two of them and love 'em
Really great video. I knew very little about Gold Tone, but had occasion to call to get a replacement tailpiece for my Rigel mandolin (which you thankfully had!) and watched this via your website. Very inspiring and heartfelt.
Wonderful story of wonderful people.
The American dream is still alive with perseverance and determination.
Really good insight into Gold Tone and what go into getting these great instruments to market. Great instruments from great people.
This is the reason I bought a Gold Tone
I love your instruments and own three of your best open back banjo's and one octave mandolin. I thank you, and hope for all the Gold Tone family all the very best. God Bless!
I love my Gold Tone Paul Beard Signature Deluxe squareneck guitar! It's a wonderful instrument!
Same! A wonderful dobro!
Special thanks to Darby Rogers lol. Love that! Inspiring story.
Excellent video! Well presented history of the company - this business is an important part of our industry on many levels.
Robyn and Wayne are good people.
After the financial legal setbacks it's good to see them growing. Credit to you, even if the banks didn't!
