Guitar Stores are paradise!
Right!! I mean Guitar Center is like the Best Guitar Store out there. If you ever get a chance to visit one, do it. It makes Normans seem like the kiddie pool next to the GC Ocean.!!! (Im only kidding , haha. But I am glad GC exists to get to see and play guitars otherwise a long drive away.) cheers!! Keep picking!!
That light blue Strat needs to follow you home.
6:28 Is the moneyshot. You know your brain is going into overdrive when you get this happy.
You keep looking at those ES-175s Mary :-). …. I inherited the exact one you looked at tag on from. (Thought about sending photo in for your stories as he personalized it)…Wonderful instrument and I won’t ever change a thing on it but the strings. Another great video thank you. Get well soon Norm.
Some omg moments (that SG) and yes a long maturing process for your Martin: that 92yr old Martin has been waiting a long time to hear you sing, all am sayin'.
You seem very very happy in this video and that's very very pleasing.
Music is the coolest thing ever. It’s kinda like these two are on a date and they’re communicating through the music , I fucking love it.
It's hard not to see that you are living your best life. With more years behind me than are left in front of me all I can offer in advice is relish this time, these connections, the experiences your are living. You are truly blessed.
It's so exciting to see Mary "Spend-her" time getting so excited doing what she loves. Hey Lemmo, nice couch. The cash register looks pretty classic too. All the best to Norm and his family and friends.. Cheers...
Love to hear Mary play. Her style is very unique and all hers, alone. Instantly recognizable. Hope to hear it on her studio album!
Acoustic jam at the end was shweeeet!
Oh wow, that Martin is YOU! That song is mezmerizing Mary...I didn't think an instrument would change it up like that. amazing.
Swung the door wide and opened your heart to us. What a beautiful video. Many thanks.
Mary is truly a guitar aficionado and player with that reaction - 0:23
😄...👍
Love it.
the Gibson jam is what makes music so universal. two souls on the same wavelength making beautiful music. i like that you share your interesting journeys with us!
Getting out to Norm's is high on my bucket list. Just getting the opportunity to look at so many exquisite guitars, let alone play them, would be absolute heaven!! Get well Norm. We miss seeing you in these videos.
It’s so nice to see you pay it forward by giving Mr. Lemmo (who is showing great musical intelligence when playing with you) an opportunity to introduce himself. I listened to the Blue Comet and it is very good. Clearly George Benson was an influence! Serwus!
Now THAT is a musician. True and clear singing and playing. No auto tune, no computer program. BAM!
I love the way you are listening to your guests.
Really enjoyed how this VOD flowed. Casual, smooth, but with energy of joyful discovery and of course sharing with us the musicians who share your path. Giddy up...
Lemmo's jazz record is cool!!!
Mary you're living the dream of so many of us right now! Thank you for taking us along with you ❤️ also that SG is going to live rent free in my head for quite some time
Mary: you continually blow me away: with your knowledge, with your expertise, and your love!
Let that 92yr old guitar sing!!! Love what your doing Mary, so keep up the great work!!!.
You two play very very well together. What a musical match
Or maybe more ;) Nah im just joshing, pass that xxxxx like Stockton
Sorry to hear of Norm's illness, so many seem to be down lately, what a music fantasy shop! Thanks Mary, all the best
That “eyeballs on stalks” look walking through a great guitar store. I could actually feel it.
Your guitars at home will be so jealous Mary ;) Wonderful to see you so happy in the land of guitars! All the best.
"Could I be geeking out more...?"
"...I realize I am a true, true guitar nerd."
Mary, I'm not a guitar nerd. But I am a rabid nerd about other things, and your voice and your expression communicated a feeling I know and understand so well. Your obvious joy gave me joy watching this.
The true magic about Norms is not the guitars, but the people who come to visit this place… and the magic that happens between them. The tunes you played with Lemmo blew me away!
Last week I watched Rhett Schull's video from Norm's and now getting to watch Mary there makes for an uplifting experience! I may be delusional but it almost makes you feel that if everyone just sat down and played music together all the other crap would go away. Being a Texan, sometimes I just have to grab a guitar to shut out the world around me. Keep it up, Mary!
wow great video!. Its the same feeling i have when i go into a music store. Its VERY hard to leave without buying something.
Norm's would be a holiday destination for me.Thanks for taking us along!
Norman's makes every guitar player emotional.
Cheers.
Send my well wishes to Norm and tell him we love him.
Nice got the VIP treatment :) very cool guitars
I had a 1966. It's the one guitar I miss the most.
When the geek comes out something marvelous happens, especially when Ms. Spener is involved. The passion says it all.
Loved this!
Beautiful!
It's going to be an expensive day when I walk into that guitar store and I will geek out every bit as hard as you are.
Beautiful 👏
This was very cool Mary!
Really awesome video!
Beautiful playing
That was fun to watch!👏 So good!🤗
That was a very cool experience Mary!
Thank you Mary for sharing bits of your life!
Mary, you sing beautifully. They should GIVE you that guitar.
Amazing video as always! :)
I am so inspired, thanks so much!
Thank you Mary for showing us these amazing places ❤
Mary in her element. You can always tell when someone is overjoyed to be where they are.
That was awesome. Thank you mary
What amazing tone and super playing! A whole album recorded in Norm’s would be a dream!
Splendid Spender xox !!
How could you not get emotional with all that beautiful history preserved and there for you play and buy.
Some great playing on some great guitars. So cool.
Such a beautiful vlog. Thank you!
Nice!
Love Norm and the crew!
A superb video. 🤙👑
You have joined the legends and you did it yourself! What a beautiful video and what a gorgeous jam you had on the couch.
Guitars sounded fantastic. great audio too. sweet vid
Just wow Mary … great video
Mary. You are freaking adorable! Never change!
Also, you're a fantastic musician.
get well Norm we need you man. And Mary always great to see you.
Michael Lemmo! I just went and looked up his channel and album. VERY high end Jazz. Thanks Mary for that interview!
what an awesome few moments...
Good for you Mary! It was wonderful to see you geeking out so hard over these guitars, as you rightfully should. : )
Simply put, awesome video.
Mary, thanks for sharing this video! I can totally relate to your excitement:). I recently subscribed to your channel and have been enjoying it immensely.
This video put a big smile on my face. Thank you.
A friend of mine's late grandpa had an acoustic that *his* father owned, and it sounded incredible. Wish i knew what kind it was, but I've never heard an acoustic sound better than it did.
Excellent! I was waiting for your Norman's video to come out
I Always love to listen and watch you play your guitars you are so very talented, and your vocals are so lovely.
One of my favorite people at one of my favorite places! Thanks Mary for making a bad day so much better.👏👏👏✌️
love to see you getting the word out on 'spender tuning' haha also cool to see you rocking an sg
I love it! You're like an excited little kid when you see some of those rare pieces.
Great video, Mary. You were really immersed in vintage guitars there!!! Good deal for you!!!
Wow!Mary you definitely were in guitar heaven!!
Awesome that you played with Lemmo too!
Thank you so much for letting me vicariously live through your guitar nerdiness - I am not a player (owned many, never learned, woulda, coulda, shoulda), so Norm's and people like yourself are some of those things that make me smile inside and out. Oh and there was some definite magic going on inside the store... wow.
I would highly recommend start learning chords - the feeling of just strumming a good guitar is a feeling like no other 👍🙏
@@Starcraft2Sonic Oh I agree... I've even built my own electric guitar, to simply understand how things work... but honestly I recognize I am just too lazy and give up far too easily... every six months or so i get the itch, so i doubt that feeling will ever go away. for now i am so fortunate to have access to people like Mary, et al and have the time to revel in their greatness...
@@adumbratesly Fair enough :) Let that itch come to you and one day perhaps you'll be rocking away :)
I need to get here this year, just hope Norman is back on the shop.
this made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :)
I've had the same guitar for forty years. I love watching Mary playing all those other guitars that I've never seen before!
Wonderful vocal- wow!
You and Lemmo mesh so well together. Colab!!!
It’s hard to put into words, the emotions I feel when I visit Norm’s. I remember each visit with distinct detail.
Norm, you are in my daily prayers, and my dream is to buy another guitar from you soon!
Great touching video Mary. Praying for Norm....🙏
Mary is so amazing to watch thrive in her element.
Old guitars need people like you to come along now and then to instill a little maintenance mojo in them least they fade away in storage.
I popped back to this one Mary and it's great to see the passion. Life would be so boring without these moments 😉
Those Strats sounded so good
Miss Mary, I love how you geek out on guitars. It is refreshing to see a person let go of their emotional guards, if even for a second. (He said 56..... and you done for). God Bless you and you passion for the guitar. Be Blessed and be well.
P.S. Get well Mr. Norm they need you.
Thank you Mary for giving us a glimpse into the world of Norms. Look forward to visiting there one day!
I'm always happy to know that you're here in the states. I'm sure Norm was happy to know that you came by.
I really hope I get to make the pilgrimage to Norm’s one day. What a place.
I really enjoyed the jams in the video Mary, you guys seemed to really easily lock in together! Very cool!
Man, that OM was lovely! Obvs also the amazing other guitars, but that just sounded so sweet, how she was playing it!
Thank you so much for taking us along to Norman's Mary---unreal! I've never been, God what an incredible array of guitars. Nothing wrong with some serious geeking out, you do it so well. As usual really nice playing and your voice---there are no words to describe it properly, Cool jam with Lemmo on the Strats...I found myself actually close to salivating when he pulled them out of the cases....wow...God that Martin too. Incredible. Apparently I've lived under a rock, I've never heard of tuning the low A to G, it certainly works. Great song too. Appreciate you taking us along on your travels bopping around.
Wow - jamming with Lemmo, what a treat, and Lemmo getting to jam with you - a treat in both directions!
I found Michael Lemmo “Blue Comet” record on Spotify, such a great album! Thanks Mary for the tip!
I never comment on these videos but I love them all.❤ Please keep them coming!!
