Love these guys. The theme of this song is very similar to BABYMETAL's 'Catch Me If You Can', which was released on the 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' single a year before 'Namahage'. I guess that threatening children with demons and ogres never gets old. : )
You can't help feeling it sounds like Sabbath. And they probably don't even mind because Sabbath is one of their biggest influences and their sound is like a tribute. Some of those riffs sound straight of Master of Reality or Vol. 4. I love it!

The band's name is pronounced Nin Gen (hard G, like in 'gun') Iss (remember the silent 'u'!) and they've been going for about 30 years. They are dressed as a 19th century schoolteacher, a mute monk and a yakuza member. Best trio since Rush or Jimi Hendrix Experience. Yes, Sabbath vibes galore and brings out my 70's Prog Rock memories too.

They became popular in 1989 when they starred in a contest for the most popular amature band on late night TV at the time. The following year they made their professional debut. That's when I discovered them. It was through them that I discovered HR/HM, including Black Sabbath(My favorite). To be honest, after that, their popularity went down and I forgot about them for a long time, but about 6 years ago I started listening to them again and found out about BABYMETAL through the recommendation function on UA-cam. They did their first small European tour in February 2020 and it was a success. They were then due to perform at SXSW in the USA, but had to cancel in Corona. It's a real shame that they lost the chance to make a real foray abroad. Now it's time to be patient. Please check their right pronunciation of their name by kanji, "人間椅子". Please react to them more. Hope you are truly feeling better not just being a trooper!! Sabbath...yes indeed and '70 raw Metal and Prog sound. The English subtitles are helpful but I generally try and ignore them on my first time through so I can really get the music impact. As I said a lot of Lovecraft themes in their music, hey they would be cheering for the Ogres in Lord of the Rings (LOL)!!! Love this song and the LIVE version scenes in a dark crowded venue as they bounce around and play off one another more on stage. The song you play to kids to keep them on the straight and narrow (LOL). Great reaction and as I say to people who say it is old, you should age as well as this music!!!!

I personally don't think you can go wrong pick any song from them but I must say caterpillar is one of my favorites although I don't believe you will find a video for it
