Your usual insightful and very thoughtful reaction, Randi! I love your reactions! This band proves that we old dudes can still rock, haha! Ninjen Isu translates as "The Human Chair", which is the title of a weird Japanese short story written in 1925. Their main influence is Black Sabbath, with some elements of Led Zeppelin and Kiss included. The lead guitarist, Shinji Wajima, even plays a Gibson SG, the same as Black Sabbath's genius (and my personal boyhood musical hero) Tony iommi. Their lyrics are usually based in eastern philosophy/religion, or else are straight horror, often based on H.P. Lovecraft stories like "The Colour Out of Space". Here, the "Om" is a reference to the means by which to attain enlightenment and discover your inner light and goodness inside of yourself. His father is deceased, and he feels guilty about not visiting his mother often enough. And even though life is hard and death is frightening, he is striving to find his own inner goodness.

1st! I really like these guys. They've actually been around since the 90s just started getting traction over here recently. Great old school metal vibe, great reaction!

Perfectly retro 90's metal. The rhythm is so provocative it kind of tells you to move to the beat. Look at those guys, and I'd expect something from a ancient Japanese composer. But when that first note comes, all the alarms bell stop. Hello! What do we have here? Followed instantly be delight, and for several reasons 1 relief that it's not far eastern classical, 2 it's rock 'n roll, 3 these old guy's really can rock, and 4, it's fantastic. The song itself is like a labrynth. It take us down many paths with dead ends. Each new path seem to be the one, and then, the music changes. Anther path to take, until finally the end of the road is met as the song finishes. But, (there so often a but!), I was very much enjoying those twists and turns, and would gladly come across dead ends for a while long if it meant have more of this song.
The whole thing is a very pleasant surprise.
