Hot take here, I feel like Bicep are truly one of the only artists that really revolutionized electronic dance music of this era. I am amazed by how they really created such a defined sound that blends in very different genres of acid , Chicago House/Techno, UK Breakbeat and many more. I haven’t been a longtime fan of them but I can tell they really worked hard to come up with something like this. The magical journey they bring is unmatchable. What a time to be alive

This reminded me of the glorious 90's - early 00's days. I thought no new live set could impress me nowadays... but I was wrong. I watch this again and again. Bicep are kins.
Being old (and lucky) enough to have been around to remember the rave scene booming and the mid nineties madness....Glue has some kind of magic sauce, it REALLY resonates and reminds me of all that. What a time to be alive.
Tribe , Gathering , Unity , Together , Society , As One , In Tune , Emotionally Connected , Healing , Love , Thank you Bicep for all those feelings ! ❤
Saw them for the first time in Margate Dreamland yesterday. Ineffable experience. Music hitting your soul and making you feel so many emotions to the point it’s overwhelming. The magic of music and these guys are real magicians. Thank you Bicep - I could have cried tears of eternal bliss to Saku and Glue.
Bicep are legends in the way they put elements together, each type of element has only one "and only" element, different layers but they are smooth in the ears, when you listen to the music, nothing is complex, complete simplicity and minimalist. Pad, key, and beats, drums are easy-going. When you focus you will notice the layering phase of each track, but only when you try to focus and recognize. Bicep will always inspire me, they just show that being an electronic music producer doesn't need anything but creativity and having that simple mindset with the music theory. i support simplicity in Techno and d&b. I'm tired of nowadays artists trying to complete with each others in a complex way "AKA WHO MAKES A MORE COMPLEX TRACK". Bicep said "F Y'ALL WE WANT YOU TO EXPECT THE MUSIC AND WE WANT YOUR BODY TO BE DANCING EASILY". Hats off legends
Its been over 3700 hours since I first heard this... And only about 6 until I see them live in London today! Never been so excited for any of the music which I called my favourite before I was shown biceps album and this gig by one of my closest friends... I flew from Australia for this gig in London.. Bicep have made the best music ever. It's that simple. Can't wait lads!
So nice to have memories from printworks and bicep! I was listening to them since 2017 and finally I traveled from Greece to Berlin in 2022 to listen them! And when I wanna feel happiness I just go back to that day! I used to live in London but enduring the pandemic so I didn’t had the chance to see them or even go to printworks! It just breaks my heart!!
Heard atlas on the radio the other day and thought it was pretty cool so started checking these guys out. I’ve been a dnb head for years without really listening to too much else. Just listened to this mix and man......This is fucking incredible! Blown away by this........ pretty speechless atm really......
I was always into dnb since 20 years ago pretty much dnb=life for me but when i heard bicep's glue for the first time it brought back so many raves in my mind and ive listened to the whole album after that and now i got tickets to brixton academy when they play next time live.
@@yannick6116 I'm 18 and have been a religious listener to Future House ever since Tchami pioneered it years ago. However I accidentally listened to Glue then Opal and then I listened to everything else a few months back. I was mad looking forward to Parklife just to see Bicep and Four Tet go at it, needless to say I'm bummed that nothing ever happened because of the current situation but I will eventually see them live. P.S This set is the best they've done.
I’ve been to tiesto, state of trance, AVH, Sasha etc but I’d happily have swapped any of them for this, This isn’t just music, it’s the whole atmosphere being created, the lights, ambience, the people around you. It’s an experience different to what you’d get with others in the same category. I’d give my left bollock to have been there
Right, geek alert. Some gear-spotting. Roland SH101 is doing most of the bouncy fat bass lines, I think, getting tweaked a lot. Roland SH09 doing more lead type duties. Toraiz SP-16 sampler (a sampling groove box with Dave Smith filters). Roland TR8 (I think it might be the newer TR8S). What looks like a Novation launchpad and various other MIDI controllers hooked up to Ableton. There are also various fx pedals, an Eventide box I I can't identify, I think also I can see a Kenton Pro Solo (probably MIDI to CV for the SH101), and a Furman box of some sort (probably to do with power). SH101, what a brilliant synth, at least as integral in the history of dance music as the 303 IMO. The VCO sounds great (Curtis 3340), the filter sounds great, the envelope shape is perfect. Nothing else needed. Someone once described it as the poor man's Minimoog, but I wouldn't swap mine for a Minimoog. Unless it was with the aim of then selling the Moog and buying several SH101s with the money!
How long is a piece of string...I mean it looks like all of it is being used. You *could* run all the parts from a powerful laptop and it might sound fairly similar, but they will want to enjoy playing, and for enjoyment the hands on stuff is usually better. The SH-101 is getting used very heavily in this, so that does look pretty essential to the sound they are making. As the Beastie Boys almost said, nothing sound quite like a 101 (except the new Behringer clone!) To be honest most of this is probably coming out of Ableton. So it's laptop plus a couple of synths and groove boxes - which is quite streamlined if you compare it to old hardware sets by people like Orbital and 808 State. Although anything would look streamlined compared to Orbital's racks of gear!
Hi, not promising anything but I'm just about to email part of their touring team and ask for a full equipment list if there's a copy close to hand...will all be in a single spreadsheet somewhere and I'll convert the list to text and post here if you're interested...if not i'll just look at it myself (proud owner of 3 of the rehashes of the Roland kit having the SH-01A, 909 and 303....techno techno techno)
I used to trip all the time at gigs like this imagining images like that dolly shot going left to right on the front row past people dancing. And I'd just have that simple vision in my head and smile. Then at home when trying to get to sleep I would see an ever-changing sea of faces in the crowd lit by purple light. Thanks for the flashback.
Bicep. 21st century ARTISTS: The paintbrush? Their equipment. The paint? Their music. The canvas? Our 'mind, body and soul'. Our emotions then, are literally crafted, and by those as talented as any Michelangelo, Rembrandt or Picasso of days passed, explaining why this feels so good.... what a time to be alive.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live last summer. Quality and destined for greatness.. I know they've been around awhile but In 20 years time these guys will b appreciated as much as Leftfield and Orbital and the likes are these days. What a set What a venue 💪 Cheers Resident Advisor!!

It's 12ºC in my room right now. I always have a beanie with headphones on.
But for Bicep, I take the beanie off.
These guys are in my opinion the best musicians to walk the earth today.
It was by far the best event I have ever been to, Dahlia into Aura was mind boggling
I envy you so much man
Opal info dhalia is even better !
Almost forgot to listen to it today...
I can't stop loving the version of "JUST" in this set... it's... pffff...
This reminded me of the glorious 90's - early 00's days. I thought no new live set could impress me nowadays... but I was wrong. I watch this again and again. Bicep are kins.
Fabric
28:54 - 30:42 is the grooviest part of the set in my opinion, can't stop rewinding it.
im just a saying
For those wondering the unreleased song starting at 1:06:00 is Boss Rhythm - BDB (released recently on the FMB label).
By any chance do you know if the tune before it has been released?
@@Thearkillian not yet I don't think.
Things don’t get much better than this
Just darken your room and enjoy❤
Can not wait to see you live when all this Covid stuff is over. You're amazing!!! Big love from an NHS nurse who needs to dance!!
Thank you for all that you do 🤗
Virtue signalling at its finest nobody cares what you do just do it and love the music
@@RyanDogs 💯💯💯💯🎵🎵🎶🎵😁
Nobody cares that youre a nurse, any more than people would if you worked at Tescos.
@@ryanx3584 you tell her son :) fuck the NHS
Being old (and lucky) enough to have been around to remember the rave scene booming and the mid nineties madness....Glue has some kind of magic sauce, it REALLY resonates and reminds me of all that. What a time to be alive.
I'm an oldie , been there late 80's and right through the 90's (yup djing too) BUT this.....up there with the best of them , hats off to BICEP 🙌
The live 'Vale' played here is so much better than the album version...
How was it?
So nice to have memories from printworks and bicep! I was listening to them since 2017 and finally I traveled from Greece to Berlin in 2022 to listen them! And when I wanna feel happiness I just go back to that day! I used to live in London but enduring the pandemic so I didn’t had the chance to see them or even go to printworks! It just breaks my heart!!
Timeless vibes that transcend any era or dimension... Infinite euphoria.
Saw them in Athens few days ago... no words for the sound and the feelings... such a party!
Heard atlas on the radio the other day and thought it was pretty cool so started checking these guys out. I’ve been a dnb head for years without really listening to too much else. Just listened to this mix and man......This is fucking incredible! Blown away by this........ pretty speechless atm really......
I love this
I was always into dnb since 20 years ago pretty much dnb=life for me but when i heard bicep's glue for the first time it brought back so many raves in my mind and ive listened to the whole album after that and now i got tickets to brixton academy when they play next time live.
Just found this " gem" today and these guys are brilliant
Great set but the constant shots of people filming rather than experiencing it is so fucking depressing
I’ve been to tiesto, state of trance, AVH, Sasha etc but I’d happily have swapped any of them for this, This isn’t just music, it’s the whole atmosphere being created, the lights, ambience, the people around you. It’s an experience different to what you’d get with others in the same category. I’d give my left bollock to have been there
the smiles on the faces when Glue kicks in is class!!
Is all of it really necessary?
How long is a piece of string...I mean it looks like all of it is being used. You *could* run all the parts from a powerful laptop and it might sound fairly similar, but they will want to enjoy playing, and for enjoyment the hands on stuff is usually better. The SH-101 is getting used very heavily in this, so that does look pretty essential to the sound they are making. As the Beastie Boys almost said, nothing sound quite like a 101 (except the new Behringer clone!)
To be honest most of this is probably coming out of Ableton.
Disruptur Very interested.. any luck?
Unfortunately not.....but I've suddenly had a brilliant idea...hold my vodka....brb
Just every once in a while I come back to this....just to remember the good times
It’s all about Glue! The track gives you goosebumps and takes you straight back to the early 90’s
What with thT 2steppy beat.
Bicep has this ability to play perfect frequencies and sounds to connect to your body and soul !
I watch this, at a minimum, once a week. Beautiful.
Bet you don't
Daily for me my get up and go puts me in the best mood 🥳🥳🥳
I'm a dnb fan but even I can appriciate how special that glue track is, goosebumps
Same man
Same, agreed
So cool the way they are facing each other and you can see their silhouettes, what a duo, amazing set 😍
Thats how they normally perform

Peace 🤘✌️
Always come back to this - maybe the greatest Bicep set ever. Chroma stuff is good but Bicep Live is different gravy
Had the pleasure of seeing them live last summer. Quality and destined for greatness.. I know they've been around awhile but In 20 years time these guys will b appreciated as much as Leftfield and Orbital and the likes are these days. What a set What a venue 💪
Cheers Resident Advisor!!
Paleo in Switzerland? What a show that was
@@weeznud No mate I seen them at a festival in Ireland. This gig here just looks and sounds amazing as I'm sure their gig in Switzerland was also!..
Podz430 saw them at groove festival in Loch Ness about 3 or 4 years ago. Hadn’t heard of them at the time but their set blew me away. Keep an eye out from them from that time and they are masters at work!
Obviously heavily influenced by Orbital.
Just found these guys by accident scrolling through the Glastonbury coverage on the BBC. Absolutely blown away by how incredible they are. So much I want to say but I don’t have the words to do them justice.
I heard Glue at closing party at Printworks when Camelphat played and now I am fan of Bicep
Glue and Apricot touched my soul, made me cry and laugh at same time !
It’s just unique experience listening to Bicep! It’s magic !✨
Melting music
Spine tingling euphoria on another level.
👌
I’ll never forget the time and place I was when I first heard Bicep , Glue was the first song I ever heard walking through reading festival trying to locate where the ambience sound was coming from once located was blown away music felt like it was from another dimension 🙌 💙
In jail on decibel x
Great message. That's it, locate the source of the sound.Their music definitely seems like is from a higher place😎
One of my favourite sets of all time!
What fucking rock have I been living under to miss this immensely entertaining set!?
Pure electronic music Enyoy❤
Still a classic after all these years!!!
I honestly never get bored of this set. Like ever.
Such lucky people to have been alive and in that place at that exact moment, canny wait to be allowed to be closer then 2mtrs to another human and sweat next to people enjoying some good music at loud volumes again x
