Just wish the audio could be as good as the video. Is this uploaded anywhere other than youtube? or is this as good as it gets?
LesAlpx starts at 59:49
how can you tell
😁😂♓🆓
That cant be all tracks? So he only has 10 songs in his 1h and 29min dj set??
Can we take a moment to thank RA for not putting ads on this

Floating Points sounds like the part of Aphex Twin that loves his mother and finds forrests enjoyable.
lol
@@manugra100 Love it, too, but the sounds are quite oldschool like from vintage synthesizers before the 90ies. Just playing around with waveforms and so on. Very similar also to Underworld's music. I prefer Ben Böhmer to this or is this style the new hype in this decade?
hahahaha, you're right!
he doesn't sound like Aphex Twin
@@blackeer6614 but he wants to be him
This is a man who puts 100% of his effort into everything he does. Truly one of the most innovative and skilled creators of our time. Thank you RA for posting this.
What's so innovative ? He's a great artist, creator and performer, but I don't see or hear what's so innovative.
Listen to his albums and eps, he's not just another electronic music producer. His albums are filled with tracks that are a mix of various genres like minimal, ambient, old school house, jazz chord progressions etc. There are tracks that sound like Bonobo, others that sound like underground/abstract techno, deep house beats all mixed delicately without overpowering the sound.
I cannot label Floating Points as a techno DJ, or a House producer or ambient artist. He's very unique and his use of synths and arpeggios I something very few people can do. He's a true artist, not a DJ. Also check out Max Cooper, Four-Tet, David August etc.
@@hjjhkkjhhjkxdf9184 in this episode of 'Smelling your own farts'...
@@hjjhkkjhhjkxdf9184 it's something you have to experience live. Of course listening and watching he's just another artist but trust me, the whole euphoric experience he creates through light and sound live is what makes him so innovative. Very few electronic musicians are capable of that, richie hawtin and chemical bros are good examples if you've seen them live.
@@nickardasis4 David August? Lol
I have listened to this set countless times with headphones, and recently bought a pair of Linn Ninka speakers. Today I sat down on my armchair and put this on. Originally I just wanted to briefly check what it sounds like. 1 hour, 29 minutes and just as many seconds later the trip was over. Give yourself a favour and play this on a decent set of speakers. The souncdscaping is pure bliss.
Can't describe how good it sounded live, otherworldly, the system in there is something else.
What kind of amplifier are you using? First time for me here with the headset. I pleasure to listen to this.
@@JorisTechTalk I now have a rega Elex-R. I believe at the time I wrote this I still had my old Sony TA-F270, which also worked somewhat with the Ninkas, but with the rega, it's a different game. Probably the next thing I'd do is buy different speakers (suggestions :> ? ). Actually then the first thing I did once I had the rega was to invite 2 friends over and listen to this Floating Points set in 1 eyes-closed start-to-finish sitting.
20:47 i love how often he puts in a big build up to what ends up being a super bare bones, clean, and minimalist drop. so energizing. knows when to pull back right when you are expecting more.
Whenever Bias drops i always get goosebumps
Such a clever way to put a drop in a song. It sounds so accidental yet purposely left in.
no way me too
Heard it for the first time in Paris, late 2021, live. Absolutely unreal
Over the last few years, Floating Points has "leveled up". Power levels are incomprehensible.
it's over 9000 !!!
@@koko0808008 ss2 at least... 9000 is before kaioken
His more recent sets like the one in Manchester are far better. I'm having to skip through this one because it's just not his best so I'm not enjoying it.
@@analogdistortion i cant find the one you mentioned
@@SolicioA I'll link it
The world needs more live recordings of this amazing artist.
I happened to be in London for work.
Luckily I managed to get my hands on two tickets.
Even better, someone was recording the event. Thanks RA!
How was the sound?
@@1chrisanderson clear, but could have been louder!
Now I'm jealous. 😏
Was it solo show?
This is utterly magnificent.
Cut from a completely different cloth.
Anasickmodular is just out of this world, what a fantastic song. Thank you Floating Points
love the cheer from the crowd when the main part drops in after the intro

@@DRRNNDGL involuntary group expression of joy and amaze.!
Never thought electronic music could make me feel this emotional
relax
57:44 during Anasickmodular, the moment when the strings start to sound wider is, perhaps, one of the most beautiful moments in electronic music history
begen laaa
Whole anasickmodular beautiful thing in electronic music
I loved when he played them before on the fader to give it that rythym
@@cedriclucas3294same. The whole performance of it is absolutely unreal
Anasickmodular (Live) is something else... magnificent
This is the greatest set I have ever heard in my life.
Was there and it was magical. Truly.
Did people loose their shit when “Nuits Sonores” started?.
soo jealous
He released the best eletronic album of the year, this is the foundation for the music of the future.
When the modern Mozart will be born he would take inspiration from this.
lol. yeah right.
he is the modern mozart and he actually take inspiration from this
The modern mozart has already been born, he goes by the name of richard. . In 100 years time they will speak very highly of his genius and contribution to the world😁
@@escobar8133 Richard is a very weird man with a very weird discography. What are your favourite songs from him?
@@haminacan i think of myself as weird also😁 the catalogue is vast, under many monikers, i would say something is there for everyone if you are not overwhelmed by this fact or put off by weird track names. Iz-us, polynomial-c, agesopolis, vordhosbn, avril 14th are just a couple i would suggest to anyone looking to start their journey down the long, winding and twisting road into the depths of one of the best catalogues of music from the last 30 years. To this day i still find music that surprises me. He is your favourite musicians favourite musician. A true pioneer in his field. What would be your suggestions for somebody looking to find a starting point?
even this recording of the set is one of the most awe-inspiring things i've ever seen, can't imagine what it must have been like to be in the room. unreal stuff.
Floating Points. My god what a sonic treat this man is. Truly unique.
the ARP3 build-up so delicate and timely, master at work.
The man’s a freak. What a set
I have been listening to all forms of electronic music for 30 years and this recording has moved right into my top 10 ever. WOW I have to see this live.
Can u share some gems with some youngsters? :) Hope to see you there I've got to go

simply amazing. thank you for recording this and releasing it, it really deserves to be seen. one man's music and vision embodied into an amazing evening. an experience for all senses. i really think this is quite special. big up to everyone that worked on it, especially sam
Holy True Robert!
i love how he puts u into a trance then snaps you awake, so refreshing
Def one of the best comments
@@robmin1973 it’s weird how some truths are so accurately stated that they can’t be unfelt.
Unbelievable set, the visuals, the setting, the Sound.... 1:05:35 gave me goosebumps, you could hear a pin drop and all of a sudden that insaaaaane bassline! I salute you Mr Points
That "Nuits Sonores" drop omg 🥰
wow. absolutely stunning. almost made me cry a few times.
just, wow.
I feel that. Def got lost in this mix and cane out at the end wanting more.
Its easy to get lost in mind to floating points music
Agree, this is awe inspiring!
I can't believe it.. I 'found' Floating Points and quickly looked up live sets. Missed this set by a day.
Looks absolutely fantastic though, can't wait to catch the next one!!
Tickets tomorrow at 11am
Crush álbum of the year (2019)
I actually never want this set to end. EVER. Thank you for this show recording! Floating Points is the absolute best at what he does.
Absolutely mesmerising, every moment and every sound is just perfect. God couldn't have sculpted a set better than this himself. How on Earth is Sam going to top this?! Surely it's impossible...
Floating Points making eargasm history
And it's a live full hardware, jesus that beautiful
More of a story rather than a set , love it
Utter perfection!
This man has mastered his craft.
Sniff
What a feast for the senses! Amazing.
OhhhhwMyyy!!! Thoseee amazing shaking low frequencies! 😍
You really need to listen to this on a high end system Wauwwwww bravoooo
Yes he is a true Audiophile - Anasickmodular through my Audeze LCD headphones is absolutely mind-bending, sam really is thinking quite forward with his music.
Ah yes, gigs. Remember them?
Returning in 2023
Back in my day... people used to enjoy concerts without social distance...
This is the Bicep Live set of 2019. Thanks again RA.
True! I Listen non stop to both of them.
recently saw the new live show of Bicep in Brussels, man, what an experience!
The much anticipated sequel to biceps mind blowing set at printworks is here, ladies and gentlemen may I present you Floating Points.
Thanks Lucas!
Happening lucas hahaha
Brian Mccloskey Hahahah laddd
Would be pretty cool if we could take some great old composers to this kinda show and see if they vibe or nah.
Completely stumbled on this today. Heard some songs before but this is special. Ratio from start to finish is Sublime. Well done to Sam, RA and the venue. Amazing.
Still to this day I think this was the best live performance I've ever seen... The atmosphere at the start was slightly subdued, the horizontal layout of the hangar was peculiar and i wasn't sure if it was going to work. However as the visuals came up on that back wall and the atmosphere built I knew this was going to be a truly memorable experience...
Every time I watch this I get upset I wasn’t there. I hope he does another set similar to this soon I’m waiting
When I see big appreciations about a non-mainstream exhibition like this one, I feel like the world taste level in music is not so low
What I would give to go and see this man live
This man is a genius
thank you. thank you. thank you.
Holy fuck that transition from Ratio to Nuits Sonores
Nuits Sonores is still an absolute wonder of a track.
Wow. No words.
Saw him at Dour Festival 2018, already loved his music beforehand but his set was something else. Not your average set, challenging and hypnotic. He worked the crowd into an absolute frenzy!!
I love that festival, would have loved to go again this year!
We've just witnessed a genius, a legend and that person is Floating Points hats off to you sr. respect!!
chills.
Christmas has come early. Incredible
This version of Falaise is soooo beautiful omg
Stroke my neurons, daddy.
They study neuroscience i heard....
@@sacredflames07 yeah hes got a phd in neuroscience, its mad
well that was just absolutely incredible. transportation vehicle acquired
Could this be one of the best electronic lives ever?
Sounds from another dimensions.
56:10 absolute magician at what he does
Yeah that transition is fantastic.
Out of body experience hearing his set at Centquatre Paris last nite
still remember when i got to watch him at the main stage of body in soul in 2016
truly amazing
Shout out to the lighting technicians, that audiovisual glitchiness before Nuits Sonores gives me chills! (24:00 - 27:00)
I was there. Incredible night.
incredible gig , the sound was something else and the support act kirkis was also good
Looks like it was a great gig!
Lourd, tellement lourd. Définitivement celui qui fait le plus planer mes oreilles avec toutes les fréquences possibles et imaginable !!
I feel like every time I listen to one of his sets I am actually hearing a piece of his mind. Not sure how to explain it.
every time an artist shares their creation, they share a part of their soul...
Just one question...what does one listen to after they have heard this masterpiece?!
More Floating Points

I found Floating Points music a month after he was in my city. This is such a good video!
Bias is just such a banger.
Hi there! I've reached the conclusion that I've been living under a rock.
Nuits sonores loooooveeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you RA & Sam for bringing this to the world 🙌❤️
The transition from Anasickmodular to LesAlpx at 59:30 is pure class
Les Alpx , when it comes back in ... i have no choice but to move , whether its my head , foot , something has to go with the rhythm .
What a fantastic set!
Also, Patrick Nation 🙌🏽
What beautiful direction and editing. Makes the whole thing surreal!
Thanks man! ❤️
Nobody going to talk about the transition from ratio to nuits sonores😅
this is so fucking cold, like full on AFX vibes
Idealny świąteczny prezent.

Impresionante!
what amazing work floating points. so many references too, beautiful.
Wartching loads of boiler room and RA you see and hear alot of crap. This is beautiful, not just great production but a masterfully creative set. Well done. Very jealous here in the states.
Highly recommend you visit Printworks then! I was Jon Hopkins, Modeselektor and few others on soundcrash gig last Friday and it was magical! The video here doesn’t do it’s justice how amazing the venue is!
This is pretty damn amazing and great. Like if Orbital and Aphex Twin had a dancefloor love child. And all live too. BOOM!
Gracias por compartir 👍 maximo respeto y mucha vibra positiva 😎
The visuals remind me of Windows Media Player haha good times
make me cry 😭
This is so beautiful...
