Hello, I'm an Aussie, I've been making similar for years. I give mine away to people for presents birthdays etc. I also buy a metre of fake fur & cover back with a throw sewing it inside out, turning it right side out & stitching turning hole up. I've done several for supporters of our AFL who happen to be Tiger supporters. I call them snuggle rugs for watching footy. Love ur crumb quilts & will definitely have a go at one of those but on a smaller scale. Cheers Liz Lewis.
I'm interested in knowing proper measurements of individual block pieces how to decide each piece to make one entire block. ?? I'm confused Thank you Ma'am
I do the hand swipe after ironing and piecing to make sure the seams are not too bulky and flat. I didn't realize I did it until my niece asked why I do it. After a few swipes I realized why. Crazy how we do these important things without realizing we are doing it.
Hello, just a resent viewer 😊 very happy to found U, Enjoying Creating and Creating what U Enjoying 😉 I hv found im interested in getting back into quilting 😊 been many year's uffta, Thank's for helping Me get back My Joy's ❤😊 Yes Ur Inspiring ❤😊
Thank you for showing this process. This is exactly what I needed for my next project esp since I’m doing a plush/minky backing as well. Improv isn’t my strong suit though I love the results. I try to over think/over plan. Here goes nuthin! 😂
You could also build the quilt itself in a log cabinish style. Pick an accent square for the center then add all your other blocks in a circular motion. Last add a strip to top and bottom to give it length.
I think we run our hands over the fabric for a couple of reasons. One who doesn’t love the feel of fabric? And 2… I think we check to make sure our seams aren’t bumpy. You crack me up Tracy the way you abuse your iron LOL!! I love making quilts this way and yes, I have about 100 potential ones in my sewing room too!
LOL🤣 I do abuse that iron....LOL!!! And it submits everytime LOL🤣 Honestly I bought an extra one of these irons because I was afraid it would break on me eventually...BUT it's still goin' strong LOL🤣
When trimming a quilt, I don’t throw away the even the smallest pieces. I save them in a baggie. When I done with a quilt, I’ll put the small pieces into 2 clear empty xmas ball. Then I will use a sharpie on the ball the date, made by, the name of quilt and even to whom I gave it to. One for me to keep and the other with the quilt.
This is an awesome idea!! I just finished one for my daughter. She will be getting the quilt as soon as I sew the label on but I may take some trimmings (I have a ton!) from this one and surprise her at Christmas. THANK YOU!!💙🪡🧵
Th is an excellent video. I t looks so simple, but doesnt seem to fall into place that easily when I sit down to do it, lol. I think I need to watch a few more times maybe! Thanks for the awsome inspiration!
Love, love, love this crumb cake quilt. Thank you! I think, its a tactile, I am happy with that! Wipe of the hand over the material at the end....I often end up finding the material too hot...😂
I am loving watch this video. I quilt also. I might try making one like that with all the fabric I have. Thank you for sharing. I had covid last year about this timer and Friday I had to go to the doctor and I have it again. But this time ii is not as bad as before. So I have not quilted since last year. I hope you have a blessed week.
Thank you for showing us what we can do with any size piece of fabric. I love the blues. I think I’ve watched this video three times, keep them coming. I do enjoy your instructions. One thing I would do differently so it’s not such a fristrating task is to make all my blocks the same size decide on a size and go for it. I like puzzles but not when I’m matching up blocks. Understanding that this is an extra large crumb cake. I still would make my blocks all the same size. I believe you would still have the diversity and the scrappiness that you’re going for. Love the blues I definitely have enough to do something like this without going shopping.
Do you wash your fabrics before you sew? I love this scrappy "Log Cabin" idea for using up my scrap pile. The blue and white is stunning BTW!! Your instructions are so clear! Thank you.
You talked about how quilters run their hand over the material after they press it. I do that when I making blocks because I’m trying to feel the seam to make sure it’s going the direction I want it to go.
Hi I'm new to your channel and to quilting. I wanted to say thank you 🎉 for your videos they have inspired me to do something new and you talk to us like family or friends I am 100% a new quilter . Never stop filming as I'm going to need everyone's help that I can have 😅😂😂 thank you again
I finally got a chance to start watching this video, but now it's time for bed. I will have to finish tomorrow. I love piecing too, it's very therapeutic for me.
Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! My creativity Tracy is back! Oh how I love the create as you go. The feel good quilting! I would a thousand times rather create than follow a long drawn out pattern that everyone else in the world does! I love you woman! You are the best! Oh speaking of Bestie.....tell yours that Okie Glenda said Hello! Had to add....now I feel the need to rearrange my sewing room! I love that arrangement Tracy....I have it like that sorta but, my already washed( no fabric softener) 😁design wall is all the way on the other side of the room. You have the greatest ideas!
You remind me of myself, I just can’t toss or waste fabric. Some of the most beautiful quilts come from scraps and leftovers. Enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing.
Hello from Plymouth England. I absolutely love this quilt and your videos. I have learned a lot already. As for your "matchy matchy" piece, i have a favourite saying " EVERY MISTAKE IS MADE WITH LOVE" i am also planni g to make your lovely quilt as you go rose quilt. I havent been quilting for over a year but you have given me the incentive to get back to it. I am going to sort my fabric today so i can get started. Thank yo so much ccc
Your neighbors noise doesn't come through to me as I watch, don't worry. Your crumb cake quilt is so beautiful, all blues make it so beautiful. I also really like the one you have hanging as well.
I think I’m going to take my machine out and start sewing something I have so much remnants I didn’t know what to do , but thanks to your show and teaching I can now start looking for the right ones ,Thank you
I have never made a quilt as I’m maths phobic and it scares me but this now this looks much easier 🎉😅👏🏼 Thankyou for sharing your skills so generously xxx
I love your free motion set up. I also don't trust the basting spray. Instead of pinning, I run a couple of basting seams lengthwise across my sandwich.
I'm what I call an impromptu quilter. I don't measure anything. I just place pieces together that I like them make everything fit. This has worked for me for years😃
@@elmyra.jackson sounds like my kind of quilting, I want to quilt but am scared of the shapes and angles and using that cutting wheel as I am very clumsy. Love your free spirit kind of quilting idea.

Yes, I touch my fabric after pressing, when I sew a seam (and probably any chance I get) BECAUSE I love touching the fabrics I choose!
Love your attitude ❤. I have learned so much I am just a beginner. ❤❤❤❤
Exacly THE video i was looking for! Thank you so much ❤🎉🎉🎉
I am new around here and you are great! I love the blue and white designs. I look forward to learning from you. Thanks, Valerie

I also could do this all day everyday! Blues are my favorite!
Thanks for the idea of using a focus fabric. With this in mind I’m going to finish my Christmas crumb blocks!
I’ve just begun watching your videos. I have to say they are really enjoyable. You have a great personality. Thanks so much. ❤
Tracy, I put a little safety pin in the top left corner of the piece I have up on the board. Then I can easily orient it when I put it back up.
i sure have enjoyed your videos this week. you are such a good teacher, thank you for making the videos
i am going to design my work space around yours. There is no waisted motion. Thank you so much
Beautiful improv quilt top! I believe all irons should have no shut off or a one hour shut off 😂❤
I agree 100%💯
Love, love it, love it! Great job.

I've had some strokes so the neighbor's lawn mower made it harder to concentrate... not everyone is blessed 😂

Do you wash your fabrics before you sew?
I love this scrappy "Log Cabin" idea for using up my scrap pile. The blue and white is stunning BTW!! Your instructions are so clear! Thank you.
Yes, I enjoy the tactile nature of "wiping" the fabric. It is a double check on the visual check that everything is lying correctly.
You talked about how quilters run their hand over the material after they press it. I do that when I making blocks because I’m trying to feel the seam to make sure it’s going the direction I want it to go.
It is so pretty I make crazy quilts by hand even tho I have a machine
❤❤❤❤ I loved your video of your gorgeous crumb quilt! I learned so much! Thank you very much!
I think for me I like the feel of my fabrics is why I run my hand over the piece. It also helps me know if a seam is not laying flat.
I love your video! You are a good teacher 😅 Rene in Florida
Thank you! ❤️
Thanks from Kooma’s Kreations! We love your videos!
Wow Thank you so much❣️

I have learned so much from watching your video. Thank you. I’m a fan if yours.
Beautiful fabrics!
Absolutely have at least 20 possible quilt projects in my “tower”!
What a good idea to have your ironing board right behind you so you can just spin around. I will start doing that.
I love your style of quilting. I think it is a fun way. Always cozy! I haven’t ever seen a video that you made that I didn’t like!
Thank you so much Karen I appreciate all of your encouragement❣️

This a great "pattern" for you because you don't need "perfect" quarter inch seams. You can aspire to them. ❤
