Oh wow, thought my husband was going to have to do the dispatching bit, but after watching your brilliant tutorial video, I feel quite confident that I could do it. Video was BRILLIANT, well done. I'm 70 years old and in the UK.
I have been contemplating raising quail in a urban area but was wondering if I coudl process their WONDERFUL meat. You have given me confidence and a mental/spirit related way to say THANK you to the bird for its sacrifice to provide sustenance for me. THank you!
WOW!… What a GREAT first video. My first thought, (I’ll watch every video this girl makes!) but… to my surprise, this is the only video on your channel. You are a natural. Very neat, very organized, very educational, detailed information, pleasant to listen to, and easy on the eyes. You have it all. I have subscribed in hopes that you will put out more content. Thank you, God bless you
I only process quail after a hatch to get rid of excess males. This is by far the best video on UA-cam for it . This is my third time watching it before processing. I guess you decided you made the perfect video so there was no need to continue making more lol. I would love to see more, but I hope this one lives forever on UA-cam even if you don’t ❤
Hi, totally agree with everyones comments, sometimes you move your hand closer to where you perceive the camera to be but actually your hand then leaves the picture frame, so that was a shame, I too look forward to more, thanks a bunch. From NZ.
I'm just starting my quail journey and yours is the first processing video I have watched. Thank you for the great video and giving me some confidence that I might get the hang of it.
I used my Cutco Shears to perfectly trim an insulated steel door to install a doggie door! THey are great to have in the tool box or kitchen! THANK you for this tutorial on Quail- I am nearing a decision to become a quail raiser.
Thank u! I’m a newbie and youve been extremely helpful! I went in person and it was a horrifying experience! I was so horrified I almost changed my mind about making sure that me and my family have food that I can trust. Thanks to you, I’m going to continue my plan to have a self-sustaining homestead in my backyard full of veggies and now with meat and eggs from the quail! Thank you, thank you thank you!
Great first video! I love the look of a whole bird on a plate, too. This is the best video I've seen for cleaning a bird. Great info on the male and female parts and how to deal with those. I subbed to your channel. I have my first batch of quail hatching now. 13 in the incubator with 23 more eggs to go. I'll be watching your video again in 7 weeks, when it's time to get my male/female ratios correct. Thank-you and good luck with your channel!!
Thanks, Jasmine! I loved the Quail processing class at QC2. This was a great follow on and I appreciate your explaining the “innards” and what they do. Looking forward to future videos!
This has to be the easiest cleanest video, I was all like "I need to purchase a plucker and a shed to process since feathers will be flying every where, neighbors will think I'm a serial killer ... maybe I can process over night so no one sees me ... then again there's always damn kids in windows taking a video and sending to the police ... lmao ... thank you for giving me confidence, I haven't done this yet and was so nervous ... but now not so bad ... eh? lol :)
Good Job on your first video. That's exactly how I learned to dispatch and clean birds from my Grandpa a long time ago! I look forward to your other videos.
Great video. Thanks to the team at quail con I processed my two extra roos. Went great, the shepherd loved the organ treats, the hound gave me a "look" until he saw his sister eating them, then it was OK. It was very helpful seeing the difference between the roo and hen organs. Now I know for sure what the white things were. Thanks Jasmine, looking forward to more videos.
I processed my first birds in early March. I hadn't seen your video, but I'm impressed with how you demonstrated your method. Very good for a first video. It's been 7 months and I don't see any more, but I hope there will be more.
I stumbled upon your channel and absolutely learned so much from this video. I have just a few quail, and plan on raising more of them. Your video and explanation made processing easy, understandable and so helpful. Wonderful video. Thank you so much for the information you provided with very much needed detail.
The most useful video on UA-cam!!! And thank you for that! I processed my birds today and it went so smoothly thanks to your video😊😍😍 I hope that we will see more video from you ☺
Thank you for this. My husband usually does this with out birds, but trying to get him to show me exactly how with his monster hands is tricky. You make it look as easy as i thought it would be. I’ll be the one getting the birds ready here at home
Considering that this was your first video, you did very well. I've seen channels do months worth of videos without advancing better than this. Great explanations and demonstrations of just what you're doing.
This was so informative!! Thank you so much for taking the time to film and upload! I would love to see more videos with deboning and recipes/ plating techniques you use.
Thank you for showing us..... not looking forward to processing my own meat but know it's a must to put food on the table and helping other family members and friends who are in need of help. Hope you can share recipes on quail meat and eggs. What kind of quails do you raise? What kind of quail did you process? Was that a jumbo? Can you show us the difference between a standard size and jumbo size? Which one you prefer and why?
Hi, first day finding this channel. Very informative so I don't know why there's only this video for this channel🤔. I would like to subscribe, this video was posted 2 months ago, I pray all is well, I'm debating getting quails come spring and trying to learn all I can. Thanks for sharing 💕
Great job on your first video. I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos. I am just getting into raising quail, and I enjoy watching videos and talking to people like yourself who started their quail business and making it work for them. Just stumbled upon this video, but now I have subscribed and want to see your process for raising your quail.
Hey hey! Thank you! I can’t wait for yours! You did such a great job at QC, we made a great team. QC2023 is going to be even better and you can take the lead!
Well Thank you for a good video. Wasn’t able to make it to Quail Con hopefully next year will be the ticket. At any rate I think after watching this video I will be able to process my birds. Again thank you.
Thank you Jasmine for explaining everything with such great detail it’s very helpful…I was unable to attend quail con this year but hopefully I’ll be there next year. Kate
Great video. I don't have any quail, but I do have turkeys and plan on getting chickens. I haven't processed any of my turkeys yet because they aren't old enough, but I plan on having one next Thanksgiving. You made this look very easy (aside from any emotional issues/attachment that could arise). I'm tempted to get quail, my cousin raises them in NC and my daughter loves birds. I'm just a little bit worried they will reproduce too quickly.
Thank you! I'm not sure if my fingers are strong enough to reach up there and pull the innards out...but I'm so thankful for this tutorial! I look forward to more videos from you.
Dawn, thanks for watching and for the kind words. ♥️ While this method isn’t for everyone, you could do it! You don’t need much strength to remove the innards.
Hi Jasmine, This Gary, met you at the Quailcon this last Sept.Dispatched some Quail and talked to you a couple times.I remember you told me how to find you(Tyme and Timber)noticed you a few weeks ago with your first video, congrats. Remember we live in Buffalo Mo.,so not to far.Im still interested in new blood line not related to Myshire Farm.I believe Genetics are crucial and would like to purchase some of your largest Male jumbo Quail to boost my genetics, making a stronger bird. Thanks,Gary
Me: trying to adjust the lighting. When you put the bird up next to but out of shot, me trying scroll and zoom. Can i just suggest using overhead lighting or close the curtain behind you. Can’t really see what your doing.
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I can’t wait to learn more from you. I’m getting my first quail hopefully this spring. The closer that gets the more nervous I get. One thing I’m most curious about is how long eggs will keep outside of the fridge for eating not incubating. That is a goal but first things first. I’ve watched all kinds of videos and this topic seems harder to find. Thanks in advance
Thank you for sharing. After you are done and you put them in that pan. Was there anything in the pan like water. Do you cover them before you put in frig
Hi Jasmine, I don’t know if you will see this. We met at Quailcon 2024. Would you do some videos of cooking quail. I think I remember you saying that you cook quail in your Insta-pot.
You’d be surprised, my husband can do this method without any issues. He has huge carpenter hands… much bigger than yours. But I totally understand the ease of the spatchcock method too.
Oh wow, thought my husband was going to have to do the dispatching bit, but after watching your brilliant tutorial video, I feel quite confident that I could do it. Video was BRILLIANT, well done. I'm 70 years old and in the UK.
