As a woodworker I've heard lots of people say, " I could make that ! " and my response is always the same. "you could; most people could. But WILL YOU ?" That's why we make money on things that almost anyone could do; not because they can't and we can, but because we can and do. So as a retired person who raises birds for a hobby, and has considered getting quails for personal use, I love this series because I might actually make a little money on the side with what I've learned from you so far. I thank you for being willing to share your knowledge.
I'm a beekeeper. Retired carpenter. People at the bee club try and arrange events to get volunteers to "assemble and paint" their new bee equipment. They tried cornering me? I told them "I only charge $25/hour for that" without blinking. Gasp...lol
@@mikeries8549 same. I'm a cop but have a woodshop and have people ask me all the time to make them stuff. They always ask how much the materials would be to build whatever it is they want. I tell them. Then, then tell them how much the finished product will be. They, 9 times out of 10, will say "I thought you said the materials would only be this much". My response, the materials are that much. Time away from my family cost this much though. I usually never hear about it again.
I love your attitude about giving your info free to help others. We just got 22 quail chicks about 3 weeks ago to start our self sufficiency. I'm not sure how I feel about the concept of balut yet. This is the first I've heard of it. I'll have to give it some serious thought because I'm sure there would be a market for it. I do appreciate your willingness to share information so freely! I see quail becoming more popular here, especially for people who live in HOA communities where chickens are not permitted.
For the people that don't do math 60000 eggs a year is +-168 eggs a day. Our local supermarket sells 200000 eggs a month. My point is that this means you need approx 200 quail and will make +-R500 a day. There are huge overheads, like packaging and delivery. So let's say 50% profit. That's R250 a day, 90k a year in rands and roughly R4k a month in USA. Well done on a great business opportunity.
So I am looking for a side business. I have about 100 quail. Getting all the quail in a row for run for a new business. I appreciate your knowledge. May Jesus continue to bless you and I am gonna take your advice

So many people comment on y’all’s videos and say something along the lines of “I’m about to start breeding quail.” I wish there was a way to count all the people and actually come up with a statistic on how many actually start and how many start and soon fail. A lot of people think quail farming will be easy and quick money but, once they start, they realize pretty fast that it is a lot more work than they anticipated. I wouldn’t be surprised to find that only 1-3% of people actually can manage to turn it into a successful venture. It’s easier said than done. I only have about 45 birds and they keep me fairly busy (besides working full time). It’s always better to THINK FIRST when it comes to these little guys. I am interested on your thoughts on this. What percent of people do you think can actually make it work? Love the videos. Thanks for your time.

My husband and I just started incubating quail this year for food for ourselves but are quickly realizing how we could sell eggs to make a little side money but don’t want to get an LLC or anything like that. Do you have to proclaim yourself a business if you’re selling eggs? Even if it’s just like $200 a month? Also.. what is the going rate average for Balut?
