On September 2, 2009 Buffalo was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lower right lobe of the lung. The next day, he found out that it had spread to his brain. Norton retired to his home in Paradise, California, where he sought treatment at Feather River Hospital. He died on October 30, 2009 in Feather River Hospital. He was one of the truly GRET harp players. He played with Steve Miller for many years and also collaborated with the great bluesman Roy Rogers.
Always identified with this song, my dad had a 1939 mercury sedan with suicide doors. I loved this car, drove my sister to her wedding in it. Nearly cried when he sold it. It's still around, last time I saw it was 10 years ago, the new owner has kept it well.
Awesome, fabulous, fantastic......words fail to express how good this makes me feel. God has a really good time coming when Norton plays up there........
I saw Steve perform this before he had released any albums, '66? It was always one of my faves in his repertoire back then when he was fresh out of Madison to SF.
Steve miller tiene cara de ser un tipo simpatico...y agradable...es mi impresion, no creen? Me encato su musica desde niño...todas las canciones son geniales.
Norton Buffalo (playing harp here) and Roy Rogers did a great live version of Mercury Blues on their record "Travelin'Tracks'; but David Lindley & ElRayo-X's version is *radioactive* !!!!!
Absolutely fantastic Concert in Chicago. 🎶🎸🎶 Thank you so much Steve Miller and Band.🎉❤🎉 👏👏👏👏👏🇺🇸
Seen Steve Miller four times. He is one of my all time favorite guitarists (along with Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, SRV, and Mark Knopfler).

One of the best .Try Out out Steve Miller #5 .
simple song. why do I like this?
Rich Seliga 5-string bass riffs for me. And a nice slow, sexy beat! I give it a 9.8.

Norton died of a particularly pernicious cancer; not drugs.

Love his blues shit and the stuff from the 60's and early 70's. Not crazy about some of the stuff after Joker. And yes Norton can WAIL on that thing
Yeah, pity he went pop for a while. Always had blue roots though.
