Nearly cried when I heard this. Was a 12 year old boy when ny family moved from Northern Ireland. My dad got me a little cassette player and I chose Book of Dreams as a choice. Purely because I liked the cover. Steve will never know how much this helped me.
Was lucky enough to have an art teacher in tenth grade who let us bring albums to class and listen to music in her class, people wanted me to bring this one to class all the time. She made tenth grade bearable
This song and Serenade are my two favorite Steve Miller songs. Used to play this songs on my guitar back in late 70's and early 80's for people while having parties with my friends just after graduation. The 80's were great!!!!!!!!!
i feel like i have passed right back into my youth...this song opens up windows that i had forgotten about for so long...thank the angels for such lovely, timeless pieces such as this! Aren't we fortunate to be living in this lifetime to hear this! xoxoxo...joy
Aww! Back in the day when the music simple, innocent and just plain fun! Going to concerts was the highlight of things to do! I saw Steve Miller open for the Eagles in Cincinnatis Riverfront Stadium in 1977! Jet Airliner was out and Hotel California was just released!
I’m proud to say he went to Woodrow Wilson high school where I did and lived in same neighborhood near Lakewood in Dallas Texas. Fine musician….along with Rocky n Dusty Hill of ZZTop. From our little. Neighborhood.
To me, this song was always a major highlight of Steve Miller's concerts. Unfortunately he doesn't perform this song anymore since Norton Buffalo passed away. Rightfully so as this song really belonged to Norton Buffalo. RIP.
Brings tears to my eyes and goosebumps to my body! Steve's big pop hits (as fun and great as they were/are) allowed him to give us his deeper cuts, like this. Hear me callin' Steve. please live on forever. We need you!
In the blistering heat, and in the hot humid nights, the soul becomes restless and angry. In the icy cold of winter, the soul becomes warmer, and kind.
A great, classic song from Steve Miller. It reminds me a bit of 'Forever Autumn', by the Moody Blues. I live in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, and the lyrics perfectly describe what November weather is like in that part of the world, not winter. Because when real winter arrives, the snow covers all the brown and fallen leaves.
Wish I could give this great performance a million likes. I've been a fan of the Steve Miller band since the early '70s. My biggest memory of the Steve Miller band was listening to "big old jet airliner" flying across the Atlantic on my way to my duty station in w. Germany in 1977.
Yvonne Mendez. Yes, haunting and beautiful. I've heard lots of Steve Miller's songs, but this is the first time I've heard this one. It's great ! I saw Steve Miller and his band once, in the '70's , they were a support group for the Pink Floyd at Knebworth Pop Festival, and they were brilliant. They got a standing ovation at the end of their set, thoroughly deserved. And I was much more impressed with them than Pink Floyd, who were the headliners.
I've seen Steve Miller with Norton Buffalo several times since 1976 tour. I'm very familiar with Ravinia. Extremely impressed with the "VIDEO" production. Who produced this video? I'm very interested, and may try to contact.
Mr. Miller and crew taking it to a higher level! I love this tune! 🤗🎶☺️✌️🥁😍🌊🎸😘👑

RIP Norton - still greatly missed.

I was amazed by the creativity of this group. They are really solid and able to satisfy their fans. I was one of many admirers. Best of luck always.

I guess he does still do this song occasionally, but it is not the same without Norton.
