YES! I took a lot of inspiration from the Batman animated series and Gotham. The artworks from Hugh Ferriss from the 1930's and 40's is another reference for Metropius

Animation in any form is serious dedication. Pencil and inking a scene for every 1/4 of a second of a loony tune through the 5 or so minutes of it all, its an understatement to use the word commitment. This is no doubt another work of commitment even though its CGI. I bet that this work is a testament to months of adding another second to the previous one to get the 20 minutes that I just viewed. Great job and the storyline is making me want to see the next episode. The atmosphere has some feel of an ole Terry Gilliam movie "Brazil" but also some Blade runner too. I bet the creative team knows what an ISA bus is and what x86 means. Back to the drama. I wanna see the beginning again.🙂
Thank you! Serious amount of work. A year in building and designing, motion capture, optimising and animating, 3 months worth of lighting and exporting… then the sound design, composition and mix. Quite a lot of work :))

So the scenario is a detective who try to find out what happen to the kidnapped girls?
yes he's looking for Claire who is captured by the Death Express at the start of the film..... The Roses are up to something... 😉
@@metropius7107 i suppose that the young girl in blue which invite the detective to eat will get kidnap too. Those kind of characters thend to be the one getting in trouble.
@@mordok7987 she is Detective Goodall's niece and she is being groomed by the Roses which is uncomfortable for Goodall... but no she doesn't get kidnapped :)

Great questions! yes he did. Q.2..Metropius is governed by corporations and at the end of the 1st Era Metropius faced a lot of unrest and so Rose Ministries won the contract to maintain control. The police force was largely made redundant. This story takes place mid way through the 2nd Era and the Roses are starting to use augmented body parts as Goodall discovers at the end of this film. They are also capturing unwanted people to send to the Roots due to the labor shortage using the Death Express. A mythical machine that strikes in the dead of night, yet no one knows who is wielding it. Learn more at discord.gg/HmfcU3Mk

The facial animations with the plastic skin look, are distracting and annoying. I like the look of the city and the retro future aesthetic, really well done with some very interesting designs. The story is far too vague for me and not particularly compelling, far too reliant on action with no context, far too thinly drawn. Overall, it looks good but empty of narrative meat.
Yes it’s a work in progress, only meant as a proof of concept with these issues worked on for the series. 😊 made on a shoestring 😉

Seriously, though, this is a teaser designed to create a sense of mystery and arouse curiosity, leaving the viewer wanting to see the rest of the story. It does a good job of that for most people. The vast majority of comments under posts of this short have been positive. I want to see more.
