I don't think I've had such a thrill since the last time I rode on a roller coaster. Can't imagine what it's like to actually be playing it. I've got to go back and listen to the original now. Great stuff. 1:20 - 1:45
Thanks! I almost admire that kind of stuff more than my actual playing, lol. I noticed on the recording that I somehow managed to squeeze my stick under my ride cymbal and that's what caused me to lose it. Lucky break that it popped back out on top of the set. Another gem I deal with sometimes is having a sneezing fit in the middle of a song. That's a really fun situation to deal with!
Copeland has a style that is incredibly difficult to replicate. In addition, I know there was one Police song I was trying to play and couldn't figure out how he was playing it - only to later read that the hi-hats were overdubbed. I don't play many by them, and haven't in a very long time.
The only signatures I play are my hi-hats and left splash. My left crash is an innovations, my ride a dimensions. The rest are a mix of Alphas (amazing cymbals for the money), 2002, 3000 (Xtra hi-hats), and 2000 (Mellow China).

That stick drop and catch gets an automatic like alone. Well done, sir.

sick bro
Thank you!
One of the most enjoyable I've seen. Well done. Busy drummer, he was. Can you do one of Stewart Copeland's more difficult songs from The Police?

@@DM-tc3gz It's not like the earth is going to implode if you attempt a freaking Police song.
@@Frip36 Ok, how about you try one....
Those paiste signatures are amazing cymbals

I always get Mitch Mitchell and Chas Chandler mixed up.
I'm not a musician, but this looks super fun to play. Is this song considered particularly fun to play by drummers?
It is fun, but it's fast! It gave me some forearm burn even when I was in prime drumming shape, lol.
