Happy Christmas and New Year to you Cal. Thank you for all the great vids of 2022, they motivate me to get out there and have a cast myself. Maybe a few more catch clean n cook vids in 2023 ? Love the ceviche and squid and bass recipes.
Great to see bass off the surface in December, well done. However, you definitely needed your big Samson rod and lures on that second mark with 7ft rollers😱
Hi Cal, Great wee session there, well done, here in Scotland we have to resort to ice fishing in December lol. Merry Xmas to you and your family and hope next year is a cracker for you m8. I look forward to more fantastic fishing videos from you in 2023 Cheers 👍
Season's greetings! 🎅 Not been out for months for health reasons. The last bass I caught was foul hooked in the eye socket. Was gutted, but the barb was crushed and the fish must still be out there! Always appreciate the practical nature of your videos. Things can go wrong for experts, too! Be careful out there and all the best for 2023, Cal... 👍🎣
Thanks mate. Hopefully you can get out again soon! I'm definitely no expert that's for sure.. I think I'll be changing the trebles on my hard lures for the new year to prevent harming fish I don't want to keep. Cheers 👍🏼
Liked and shared. QUALITY as always. Main reason why I use single hooks on all my lures , so they don't get deep hooked. Happy Christmas and New year Cal. Tight lines!
Superb, Cal! Great fish, all of them. This is my first year with the Cornish sea 5 miles from where I live, it used to 264 miles to Cornwall!!! I wondered whether bass hunting was a year round venture, you Sir have answered that. Thank you, inspiration to get out, and have at it, received. 😁
Brilliant Cal! Thanks for a great year of amazing content and sharing your adventures! Super appreciated. Wishing you a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! - SMITHY 😉🤙🎣🐟
Nice video mate! Maybe you should think to change treble hooks for simple.. I stopped to fish with treble long time ago and even the smaller(30cm) are hooked.
@@Noname-dd6ly Yeah that’s a valid point mate. I have used singles in the past. Personally, I’ve found on some occasions they’re great and on others, I struggle to hook up. They’re without a doubt easier to unhook and cause less damage/stress to the fish. A lot of my lures now vary from singles and trebles. Thanks a lot 👍🏼
Another great video Cal. Have you tried felt soled wading boots? I started using them a couple of months ago and they are incredibly grippy on wet rocks.
I've not mate no. I'm really not a fan of waders at all. I've always thought that if I ever fell in the water, the last thing I'd want to be worrying about is getting a set of waders off.
Great sesh ! I hate getting caught by a wave, especially early on! Thanks for sharing - I hope to get a chance to go ‘winter Bassing’ soon. Have a great Christmas. Hope to see more if the same 🤞🏻
I thought you couldn't remove any Bass in December. Update, just looking through it again and when it said January, February and December it was referring to December 2021
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Hi Cal firstly merry xbass see what I did there lol. I know here in the uk its catch and release but what if the bass is deep hooked and dead? can u take it or just throw it dead in the water?. I myself would never take a live and healthy bass! but if its dead due to bleeding out and its catch and release only, what to do???
@@64johnno Yeah if you're going by the rules then even if the fish is gut hooked, you'd still have to put it back. It's obvious that many people will keep a gut hooked fish even during the C&R only period but I guess they just take the risk.
You do some great videos but you do put yourself in dangerous positions. If nothing else please wear a buoyancy aid, it keep your head above water if you slip n crack your head. I love watching your blogs and want you around a lot long for more vlogs.
Thanks mate I'll take it on board. I've looked at buoyancy aids before but didn’t end up buying one. Maybe I'll have another look in the new year. cheers 👍🏼
you sound just like bear grills in a cool way haha class video mate
Awesome footage,nice one Cal 🤙👍🐟🎣

Thank you 👍🏼
What clip is that please you are using to attach the Patch to the leader? It doesn't look like a Gemini, and I'm after a smaller clip for mine. Thanks
They’re lure clips from The Lure Factory. They should be on their website mate. I use the 14kg version. You could also try 'breakaway' clips too 👍🏼
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Thanks for replying, loving the videos
Hi Mate - Do you live in Cornwall
👏👏👍👍🎣🎣
Hi Cal, is the Bass fishing ok in January?
@@darrencahilltymtmp9249 In Guernsey? It can be yeah, each year seems to be a little different but generally it's pretty good yeah.

Catch and release only here in Cornwall now
Yes mate you’re correct. However, I’m in Guernsey, we have different rules and regulations to the UK.

Great video but get rid of the trebles
I will do in the new year 👍🏼👍🏼
Enjoy the mark while you can before they dig it all up for a new quarry..🤬
