Thank You so much for your video. I like your kind of spots and your enthusiasm for top water seabass fishing. I have watched it now 3 times and I will watch it again tomorrow. Tight lines
Thanks very much mate. I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. Being in part of Britain, we have to put up with the terrible weather throughout the year 🤣 it’s worth it though!
@@FISHINGWITHCAL I was born in Plymouth UK but now live in western Canada. Always remember the storms that used to tear in to the Westcountry and Channel Islands.
Great session Cal. A boot full of cold sea water is not a good thing but you are the connoisseur of the bass fishing lure. Tight lines and stay safe. Mike
@@FISHINGWITHCAL Both Cal Trying for a Sea trout in the estuary at low water and an hour of the flood then I head to Brandon bay for a Basil Hopefully I’ll get back down to Kerry next weekend to wet a line🤞🤞🤞
Great vid as ever Cal…..👍 I always return all my silvers especially the breeders, but like yourself when one that takes it down to far you’ve got to think of the Bass welfare after letting it go, knowing that it might really suffer or die! Keep up the great vids bud! Top work! Alan 👍💪🎣🐟🐟🐟
Thanks mate. I’ll never throw a dead fish back (providing its in size obviously) it never goes to waste. I appreciate every fish I ever keep. It was a shame on this occasion but as I said, it was thoroughly enjoyed. Cheers 👍🏼🎣
Great session Cal, especially for March. Makes me wonder if I should head out and try for one here in the Solent. Sea temp still hovering around 8 degrees though ...
It’s worth a try mate. Fish the shallowest water you can find on a really shit day of weather. Find the tide and you may just find the fish. Sea temp here is 9 degrees now
How are those lure clips working out? I've never seen anyone here in the US use them before, but lately I've seen tons of content creators from across the pond using them. A lot of people use swivel clips here, but it's considered an extremely amateur thing to do. I'm tempted to buy some of those clips and give them a go. I'm getting older and my eyes aren't getting any better. Tying knots in the sun and wind sucks sometimes.
Personally I like these clips. They’re from TheLureFactory.com Breakaway clips are popular here but swivel clips aren’t great. They catch too much weed and affect the way the lure works in the water. These clips are easy to quickly change lure which I like.
Another entertaining video, Cal. Quick newby question for you (or anyone) if that’s alright - when pike fishing I’ll use a swivel somewhere to stop line twists but I can’t spot any in bass fishing vids. The lures look like they won’t usually spin but is this something to think about?
Where would you normally put a swivel for pike fishing? (Sorry, I’ve never targeted pike before) I use a swivel to connect my leader to the braid but that isn’t to prevent the line twisting, it’s just personal preference. The only lures that will spin your line when fishing them are things like a savage gear seeker because they spin in the tide. Apart from that most other lures won’t twist your line.
@@FISHINGWITHCAL swivels usually go in the same place, between the braid and the wire trace (leader). Actually, it was the savage gear seeker I had in mind. Sounds like it will benefit from a swivel too. Thanks for taking the time to help. Much appreciated. 👍
Top vid Cal. Nice fishing.
Some great fish caught, good to see your enthusiasm flooding back
It’s surprising what a few schoolies can do to boost your mood isn’t it 👍🏼🎣
Top video, Cal.
Great to see you catching plenty of beautiful bass.
Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Really enjoy your videos - you've inspired me (a lifelong coarse angler) to buy a lure rod and try catching some bass!
That’s good to hear, thanks. Once you managed to find a few bass you’ll have hours of fun to look forward to chasing them. Cheers 👍🏼
Always enjoy your videos.
Nice to see you back fishing 🎣 mate
