I could Binge on Mr. Haducks Videos all day long if I had more time available... Your are truly one of the last "Great Ones" left in this field who Shares so much wisdom Mr. Haduck. Your Videos have taught me SO MUCH!!! I deeply respect your work greatly and tell everyone about your wonderful uploads to UA-cam. Thank You for Sharing your wisdom and passion.
Mike. I really appreciate you videos. Thank you. I especially like that you add a scripture verse to them. Praise God for His blessing through you, Brother.
that looked good. I have a feeling we will all be looking at "depression era" ways of saving things and making them last soon. Thanks for sharing the old school ways.
hope you dont mind me calling you Uncle Mike , other than you reminding me of an uncle of mine , i think alot of people in the comments will agree that your character really wins us over , honest and friendly , straightforward and to the point , sharing all that knowledge and experience with us , Bless you big guy...
I wish i found mike sooner. Very helpul information. If you can find the old school way to do it, its typically a very reliable cheap way to do it. Im definitely a fan in todays day and age.
Dear Mike, Thank you for the Old School concrete painting technique. My garage is in desperate need of the same type of repairs-built in 1949- so this will save me some money and is cheaper than paint. Thank you again for all your help and inspiration--Love your Bible verses too. May God Bless you and your family Mike.
I patched cracks in my driveway with Cement All, painted it with Portland (slightly tinted). It looks like a fresh concrete pour. May have to paint again with Portland this year, but it's cheap and only takes an hour. Thanks Mike, you saved me thousands of dollars. My neighbors think I got a new driveway!
LOL , I like the way Mike does demo ..... pops the boards off and they fall right into the wheelbarrow !!!!! can't beat that .... Always watch the old guys work , we know the "tricks" to make work easier ..... "work smarter not harder" ....
Yes, this is a good feature to show, and as always, we can look back and still learn from those that were in the great depression. I remember using white-wash on our house, and painting when I was about 10 years of age. I had to stir it up frequently. Thanks for all your vids, for they are priceless.
Thank you Mike, just watched you build a pair or actually a single step out of coral in Florida, love everything you do and I love Rewatching videos you already made
Your videos have helped me a lot. I live in the same region and being in my early 30s teying to raise a family and take care of a hundred year old house and garage, ive learned a ton of stuff from you. Thanks
we do slurry coats all the time .. sometimes , people just don't like the color of their bricks even , and they pay us to slurry coat the entire house .. it looks very good when completed thanks for all of your videos , Mike ..I look forward to them every week 👍
Awesome. Thanks for this information and I am looking forward to painting with portland. I love portland cement. It is so much better and cheaper than gLuE. Looks better, stronger, lasts longer, better, better better. As for the mottled coloration, I actually like that part too. Mike you said "no big deal", I love that but actually I think it is a big deal, this information will help so many.
Mike, you got me into the whole cement and concrete thing as a hobby. And I wanted to thank you for it. Mostly what I am doing is experimenting and doing some decorative stuff, and I have been watching this girl who has a cement craft ideas channel over in Asia or somewhere and she’s given me a few ideas too. It’s always good to get tips from a variety of sources. I’ve been experimenting with embedding mesh fabrics and webbing in it along with wire and stuff to see how they come out. I could not find reasonable size bags, and had to buy 94 lb bags of Portland in Home Depot and masonry sand. I also bought some aquarium sand to see if fine stuff makes any difference. One other thing: can you make a video about how you store open bags of cement and sand? Basically I turned a big black garbage bag upside down over an open bag. But maybe you have some storage pointers for extending the life of it?
Hi Joe, usually if I get it in the garage I put them in clear plastic bags and for the most part I will get months more before they harden, thanks Mike
Thank you for this tip Mike! I was just going to paint a two block high green house foundation with paint but noticed that the blocks had two many holes and drinking too much paint. This is a more affordable way to finish the blocks. Then paint with masonry paint.
Back at my home country in the islands, the whitewashing with lime once a year (late spring) was a tradition. It still happens, the 'old school' is still cheap and still looks good.
How can you not like this guy, he's so laid back, a great teacher
Thanks John, Mike

Nice one mike funny as this can also be done for a key coat for a render / stucco I call it scud coat but same mix basically
Thanks mac, good to hear that, Mike
Yeah- I'm definitely trying this method instead of painting the modern way. It makes the foundation look newer, in a sense.
