Dude is only 22, but I think this game does punish the age factor more greatly than other games since it requires a high level of apm and making critical calls all the time (micro + mcaro plays). I'm not sure if Maru have hit his prime yet, but I know that alot of players burn out after 25.

Regardless, he has definitely sealed his spot as top Terran in the world. Nobody other than TY is even coming close to Maru's play in the last year or two. And both him and TY are miles above the other KR Terrans, who are miles above non-KR Terrans. The skill gap between Maru and the rest of the world is just ridiculous. They probably hate it, too, because it is difficult to argue Terran is underpowered when Maru keeps winning everything.

I would love to see more games with NoRegret casting. His deep knowledge of Starcraft 2 and the current proplay-level meta adds a lot to the viewing experience. Tasteless behaves himself better alongside NoRegret, too, not spending half of each game being a nerd comedian while ignoring what the players are doing. Yes, Tasteless is pretty funny, but I'm watching these videos for the brilliant Starcraft and not for off-the-wall banter. Tasteless/Artosis start going off on tangents at the beginning of games when "nothing is happening anyway" but often continue on their tangents and neglects the games far longer than they should. Anyway, really enjoyed this cast.

Cos immortals and storms don't do well with mass land mines, which is why Maru did it to begin with. He is basically saying ... build this to deal with the mines or lose your probes. My blood boils when I'm seeing tempests shooting everything for free and terran can't engage because his vikings will get stormed. They add shield batteries and there is almost no way to break this. Storm should do 50% of the damage or none against not biological units like vikings, ravens and tanks. Or tempests should be nerfed again, but the storm nerf would make more sense because the problem is that you can't fight. Storm is great against bio, it shouldn't be great against everything
The reason that his Templar can position to storm the Viking is because his ghost was busy dealing with dts counter attack. If he can have better ways to deal with those counter and left his ghost to emp the hts, dear lose because he have nothing to zone out the ghost.
It doesn’t need to be better than maru to point out why he lose. The key is dear win solely relying on dt counter to make Maru’s ghost out of position , not because storm is too strong and hence nerf storm to 50% dmg.

It's not like ghost rescue the day, cure couldn't do anything he was just eating tempest shots for free and when the tried to attack the tempest he was getting stormed. Storm should not damage mechanical unit, only biological.
As for cure vs hero, cure was way behind and hero was producing 3 tempest each time, while cure producing 4 Viking at a time. The reason cure lost is simply not enough Vikings. Hero only got 1 or 2 retreat storm off in the whole pushing process. Storm is not the main reason for cure and Maru to lose their games.

Starcarft is an esport , meaning it is a sport. Micro being the closest analogue to physical superiority. In sports, it is mind and body. The thinking that strategy should only win is as empty as saying that football or basketball should be played by the coaches because they can employ better strategies. LMAO! I think he has more of a "hmm, very, very curious, myes" type of approach to the game as opposed to "OH DAMN THIS IS AMAZIIING". One shoutcaster is enough in a pair anyway, imo, and Tasteless is really good at that. I do get what you mean though. I think of him as sushi, somewhat of an acquired taste, give it some time :)
It's a real time strategy, mechanics will always play a factor in that kind of game. Strategy, tactics and decision making are incredibly important, but you need to be fast and precise to be able to pull your plan off. Personally, if an RTS doesn't have a high mechanical skill cap, I would never be interested in playing it past the campaign. If you don't have the time to invest into getting good mechanically in Starcraft (which means playing for many years for most people), and it annoys you that people can beat you with pure mechanical skill and build order memorization, you should give chess a shot, I play occasionally and it doesn't require any mechanical skill (except the lowest time formats perhaps). Of course, that is a game that also requies years of practice and studies if you want to be truly competitive.

It's not like ghost rescue the day, cure couldn't do anything he was just eating tempest shots for free and when the tried to attack the tempest he was getting stormed. Storm should not damage mechanical unit, only biological.
As for cure vs hero, cure was way behind and hero was producing 3 tempest each time, while cure producing 4 Viking at a time. The reason cure lost is simply not enough Vikings. Hero only got 1 or 2 retreat storm off in the whole pushing process.
Storm is not the main reason for cure and Maru to lose their games.

Starcarft is an esport , meaning it is a sport. Micro being the closest analogue to physical superiority. In sports, it is mind and body. The thinking that strategy should only win is as empty as saying that football or basketball should be played by the coaches because they can employ better strategies. LMAO!

I think he has more of a "hmm, very, very curious, myes" type of approach to the game as opposed to "OH DAMN THIS IS AMAZIIING". One shoutcaster is enough in a pair anyway, imo, and Tasteless is really good at that. I do get what you mean though. I think of him as sushi, somewhat of an acquired taste, give it some time :)

This is what's bad about SC2, a strategy game. Maru's decisions were bad but he still wins through mechanical grunt.

It's a real time strategy, mechanics will always play a factor in that kind of game. Strategy, tactics and decision making are incredibly important, but you need to be fast and precise to be able to pull your plan off. Personally, if an RTS doesn't have a high mechanical skill cap, I would never be interested in playing it past the campaign.
If you don't have the time to invest into getting good mechanically in Starcraft (which means playing for many years for most people), and it annoys you that people can beat you with pure mechanical skill and build order memorization, you should give chess a shot, I play occasionally and it doesn't require any mechanical skill (except the lowest time formats perhaps). Of course, that is a game that also requies years of practice and studies if you want to be truly competitive.

While Dear was bussy dealign with mines maru had 3 CC even on workers as the toss, upgrades on time and build a shit ton of racks in the back of ONE marine and a shitloads of mines
