Daily Gixxer rider here, love the jokes about gixxer bros! Keep them coming - and these bikes are quintessence of quite cheap yet reliable (if maintenance window wasn't neglected) machines. Yes, they do lack many driving nannies, yes they try to kill you on each corner but all in all it's really rewarding when you can push it to it's limits once you figure it out.
I always use hair spray to put grips on it makes them slide on really easy and then when it dries it stays where it is meant to. Also Gixer riders can use the rest of the can on their hair.
This brought me back to the days of buying inexpensive, neglected bikes to use as a daily. It's amazing what routine maintenance will do to turn a death trap into a canyon carving warm hug giving friend.
I just bought a 2003 Honda VFR800 Interceptor and it was poorly neglected. I'm in the process of doing exactly what you are doing to bring her back to life. Took me 6 hours just to get the bike clean!
Its always more fun to work on someone else's machine. No fuss, no worries, and your own bike to hop on and go. I like your recent maintenance and rebuild videos. Garage life is a huge part of being a petrolhead.
I dont know if anyone has realised yet, but this is a GSX-R 750, or atleast the tack and the forks are from one. All GSX-R 750s come with black forks, whereas 600s have gold-ish forks. And the 600s tack has 18 k written on it, while the 750s are up to 16.
Could you please do a video on which tools we would need to do most things on our bikes? Like what the tools would be used for, and just in general about the quality of tools and what brands to choose? That would be awesome!! :D
Adjust that rear suspension height by loosening one lock nut, taking off one of the ball joints off and rotating that then retightening the locknut once reassembled. Just like alot of gear shifter linkages need to be adjusted.
Hello, where did you get the cable sealing tool for the cable clean... That tool is new to me and it looks quite handy since i always just get wd40 all over my bike trying to clean the clutch/gas cable
pro tip: now that you have a kuif and a gixxer (even for 72 hours), you obviously have some hairspray too. Spray the throttle tube and inside of grip with hairspray, then just slide it on. The hairspray is slippery when wet (oooeeeer!!!) but dries like glue, as we can all see by your anti-gravity hair. (jokes aside..hairspray also works, and quite well...for hair and grips)
nice work. but you can change the lenght of those rods. take that link out on the left (or right) side, adjust it. support the bike so you can swap out the right (or left) link, adjust that one and put that one back on the other side. they have a limited amount of adjustment and remember, keep 1,5x the diameter turned in or it might brake.
@@ChaosCauses @Jexis the motul oils are very dark to begin with, its fine. However, an opened can does start to deteriorate since the acid regulators oxidise away when in contact with air
You can get a lot done with a cheap ratchet set. I was able to tear a bike down to the frame with just a few tools and most of the time it was just the ratchet set and wrenches
Hi everyone, I have just recently bought the bike as is and I’m making it a mission to get it all sorted out, all damages and so on are from previous owner😂 I’m busy learning just like everyone does🤣 CC is my teacher too we all live and learn, so not gonna complain just do everything possible to fix this bike and have fun doing it, now let me straighten my hair and paint my GIXXAR nails to tattoo GSXR on people with the Vaseline on my finger lol

Damn someone messed up big time, trying to change some colours. The only things i got painted on my gixxer blue/ white where change my rims from black to white like the gixxers from the 90s. But it's nice when you know what you are doing. After 21 years i still ride it sinds it whas new.
all fine and dandy up until 11:22 Whatchyu mean bro, if the brake piston seals are done that bike is a death machine. Why would seals fall apart because of taking out pistons? If they're falling apart, they're failed and they MUST be replaced. ALSO what did you do with rear brake piston dust seal? Its bent and twisted, basically totally fuu-uucked
