Mine just arrived, so this series is perfect.
Just bought it & it kicks ass!! I hope headrush consider developing extra virtual pedals for its software in its stompboxes which other brands lack, like tape saturation, aural exciter (like BBE), talkbox, etc.
I got mine yesterday and I'm really excited to play with it!

I just purchased this pedal the other day. Getting rid of my Boss GT1 because at some point, the effects start sounding really artificial. I hope this little mighty powerbox has enough of processing power to deliver some awesome clean and high gain tones. Cant wait to try it out!

Hello, When using the 4 cable method to connect to a tube amp the signal chain will assign which pedals go before preamp and after? For example my wah and comp, boost/overdrive before the amp, and my time based/modulation pedals after (FX loop) I am just looking for a smaller, portable pedalboard alternative so my big board can just sit in the studio.

Hi guys great product just got mine in the mail. I have an issue though. I have with connections since I'm new to effects. How do I connect the unit to a fender deville? In the input 1 or 2, pre-amp out, power amp in, or foot switch? I'm running 2 cords , one for the guitar in and the other for the output (mono) . But I'm not hear sound coming out of my amp. Please help thx!
You can assign multiple effects to one switch right? Looks amazing!!

Two questions: Is it possible to have a delay, phaser, tremolo, digi-tech whammy, and a wah wah to play all at once? Is the Head Rush MX 5 like the regular Head Rush Pedal board in this respect?
When you record, is it best to use the stereo outs to my Audio Interface, or USB?

Absolutely, you can control all options, including all 11 blocks and tap tempo with midi.
Good evening! Can you tell me what is the frequency rate that the mx5 works? If it would be 44... or 48kz...? I would like to know to be able to use ir's with the same frequency as the pedalboard supports. And so get a better result. Thank you very much!
Question.....I bought the unit and so far it's the best sounding multipedal I've seen. Is there a patch for getting acoustic sounds out of an electric? I got a gig coming up I'd love to have that sound without changing guitars......we play rock (Ozzie) to country (Brooks and Dunn) Would be GREAT to get close to an acoustic for many of our tunes
Yes, if you look in the options in FX, you will find the Acoustic Sim. Also, if you Google Headrush acoustic, you will see videos on users setting it up and sharing sounds.
Thx for the video ! I'm just wondering if there is some kind of a built in "drop tune" feature ? I currently use a digitech drop which I just can't live without but if the headrush had that thing built in that would be great !

Maybe a dump question, but with all these big pedal board like the headrush, helix etc... do you plug this on any amp "clean" channel and then get different sound applied to the said amp clean channel ? In my case i have a marshall jvm 4 channel so if i get this pedal, the 3 non clean channel of my amp became useless?
Your videos are just excellent! Dude.. could you tell me how I can restore the factory settings on the MX5? I got to see a video or another about how to do it on the pedal board and gig board. But on the MX5 I'm not finding how to do it!

MX5 is good, im still considering this but I prefer something with XLR output, or maybe more output option rather than loop or an effects for vocalist as the prime or core? cant remember which one🤣. Plan to get the Fractal FM3 but ive got budget cut and MX5 is kinda the best among its price ranges but ya the still considering since sooner or later I will still going to get the Fractal. Theyre on another level
Can I use this if I don't have an fx loop on my amp? Like output everything to headphones?

Hi, great video demo, like always, I have a couple of questions, I own the Line 6 Floor and am interested in getting the Headrush MX5. Can you please tell me besides the price what is the difference between the MX5 and the Gigboard. Does the Gigboard have more features than the MX5?
Happy to help! First is the difference in the hardware size, MX5 is smaller than Gigboard. MX5 has a smaller 4 inch screen, Gigboard has a 7 inch. Gigboard has external amp control option and a extra footswitch.

Bought MX5 just received it today I can’t get it to sound right sounds like bees In a can . I’ve tried several ways . And yes it brand new out of the box
I have my own tube amp and cab that’s how I’m using it 4 cable method . My question is do I need to have a in : FX block was told I needed it then go with the rest of my chain Comp, OD, Distortion then second row Delay , Reverb , etc etc Out . That’s the way I tried today didn’t work at all you could here everything going on but not loud and dynamic
and yes I have it on amp and not line for PA’s and such anything else I can try not jiving with this

So have never used a headrush before, 02:27 - does this mean a clean guitar sound already recorded on DAW can be sent to the MX5 for effects and then recorded back to the DAW on a different channel ? Would be great way of getting the effects right in the final mix...
That is correct, MX5 can do reamping via USB.

Hey again, does the MX5 have a pitch wham feature, that allows me to play in a different tuning? A lot of songs are in Eb tuning, or D Standard. If there a pedal similar to this, like the Digitech Drop pedal? Thank you.

Could this work for an acoustic guitar?
Hmm! This looks very interesting.. Can you plug it straight to the front of an amp and disable the preamp?
You can, to do this you would just not use modeling and just FX. It's best used with a guitar amp through the FX loop or 4 cable method.

Correct, that option is on the Gigboard. This unit is close to half the size of Gigboard.

Excuse my ignorance, but I am brand new to multi effects pedalboards like these. Can I use in front of a traditional amp? If so, are there any settings I need to disable since I want to use with a tube amp?
Happy to help! It is possible to use in front of am amp. Remove any amp or cab sims from your signal chain and turn the audio settings to Amp and not line. You can get great results in a FX loop or 4 cable method also.

Hi there, I am absolutely loving my MX5. I play/practice with headphones. I have a problem, how can i hook up my headrush so i can listen to songs through the headrush while I playing my guitar with headphones? I want to learn songs as I am listening. I tried to use my USB from the headrush to the PC (Windows 10), but I don't hear the songs. Can anyone please help? I do have a Focusrite sound card. Thank you.
Happy to help. You can plug any phone, computer or anything with a headphone connection into the Aux input. This is covered in the manual on page 7.
Thinking about getting this unit, but I can’t understand why Headrush doesn’t make an app to help with editing. Screen is on the small side and almost unusable for live editing. And Is this a table top or a floor unit, because I have yet to see anyone demo it on the floor.
Hi play through a vox AC 15 do you think honestly, it makes any sense at all for me to get a amp modeler like this or playing through a tube amp? Would it just be better off staying with analog pedals?
You may want to opt with an FRFR112 MKII guitar speaker so it's a clean channel. It may be lighter too...

Yes, you would just turn off the amp and cabinet modeling. Best used with an amps FX loop.
apparently, I'm an idiot. So I click the 3 dots and choose heavy tones, then I see 3 of the 49 options in the bottom options. How do I scroll through the other 46 options? The lower knob scrolls through the items inside the rig. I'm sure I'm missing something really simple...
Is there gonna be a phone app so I can download updates or DL patches on the fly??? Some times the only connect to the internet is my phone ..
MX5 does not have Bluetooth of WiFi built in, all updates are done over USB.
@@HeadRushFX This units needs an editing app. #1 complaint. Touchscreen is def a game changer though, just a little small.
What kind of cables am i supposed to use for the output?
Happy to help, Generally choosing TRS/TS depends on what you're connecting to and how long of a distance the cable needs to go--- either should work fine but for example if you're going long distances, TRS has it's advantages

@@HeadRushFX right now im using a balanced trs to xlr (15ft) into the headrush 108 speaker. Last night somebody said it sounded like it was gonna blow (this was an hour in to the gig) so I’ve been real anxious about it.

Can I use MX5 as audio interface for my Android phone daw? i used gigboard and it didnt work on phone. so i sold it and im using Hotone Ampero now. but if it is possible to connect to phone, i will buy MX5
It is not officially supported, but have had reports that some users have got it to work. It is supported on IOS.
@@HeadRushFX Im going to buy! btw it would be really awesome if headrush have a plan to make a small external footswitch for MX5 coz 3 footswitch is compact but little bit insufficient. I hope headrush to produce an additional footswitch which can be connected to exp2 jack
@@acdc5643 MX5 already has midi connections where your can connect a midi foot controller. You can assign any parameter including tap tempo, all 11 blocks and more.

How can I select which pedals I want for stomp box mode if I have more than 3
Happy to help. If you want access to more than 3 stomps you will need to either use Scenes for making bigger changes at once, Setlist mode where you can arrange a lineup of different Rigs with different pedals, or connect a Midi Foot controller to access all 11 blocks.
@@HeadRushFX I mean if I only wanted the 3 buttons but I wanted to choose not to have the eq pedal on the buttons. How do I customize which pedals are on the buttons?

The one thing I don't understand is why you don't include bluetooth controls. If I could control my pedal board from my music stand (not having to bend over with a guitar strapped) I would have ordered this in a new york heartbeat.....change tones, patches, volume or add reverb/delay from your phone would make life really good
