It's not ruined. Viceland is just showing more of a documentary styled version of KOTR and Thrasher still post the weekly webisodes. Thrasher said they did nothing to change how the competition is done.
But they aren't altering the show. Everything is the same. The only difference is that they're just showing more of the challenges and going more in-depth into it. It's not like what RIDE did to One in a Million where they created elimination challenges.
