You CAN'T do meth while touring...because you need to Sleep for 3 days at a time, there's just Not that much downtime.......it's just a matter of physics how the drugs work, you can't escape the massive Sleep binge periods that come after.
Man I did speed once during university. And never again. Took away the things I love the most - sleeping and eating. Fuck that. The satisfaction from a good nights sleep and from eating something when you’re hungry - can’t beat that with any drugs. I still enjoy some pot now and again - but nothing else for me thank you. Sober state of mind is important
I like how Steve-O and Jonathan are open and honest about their past with drugs. Ive always been too ashamed to open up about my history with meth because people are very judgmental unfortunately. Meth is one hell of a drug to quit. I was addicted for many many years (along with cocaine and opiates) but I can proudly say that I am sober now and people who can quit drugs are very strong because if you can do that, then you can do anything.

You get it!!! 🙏👊🙏
The high of Meth was amazing. The low of it was death. I was high for over 4 days once on my 15 month addiction and it was the worst of the best. I used a bottle a day of Wild Turkey to bring me down. I hated psychosis and it was scary as hell. I had a regular job and tried to the best of my abilities to function during my addiction. That's what made it that much scarier. I felt guilty and knew I had to stop. I went to rehab on my own, and I've been sober for 15 months.
Good job-stay that way. Best of luck. Been there.
keep it up bro, lights always brighter on the otherside!

Me too I went to rehab on 2003 , 2003, 2005 , 2008 finally I'm finished for good...I love being sober forever...
I did that shit for about 6 years and the only thing that stopped me was going to Europe for 8 years. Out there it's mostly cocaine they generally don't sell meth out there. So I took cocaine out there. Long story.

Korn is my all time favorite band. Jackass was my all time favorite show to just throw on and enjoy. seeing these two dudes talk about their past issues with drugs really makes me feel glad for them, and its proof that anyone could kick a habit with enough determination and support from friends and family. these two seem to be in a really good place and i hope they continue to provide a excellent example for those struggling
I can finally say I like some korn again. Only in the past few months have I started to genuinely appreciate their work. I was actually given their first CD when I was six years old, so it was some of the earliest music I had ever heard. Glad I’ve come back around to enjoy them again.
It helps to be stinking rich too
Jonathan Davis and Korn pretty much saved my life. All throughout middle and highschool I dealt with really bad bullying and such which were some of the subjects of his songs- I went from Metallica to Korn and I'd never heard music so intense and full of emotion before. The first few albums really helped me get through some serious issues in my school life and beyond that, even. I come back to Korn every now and again just because it's good venting music. Always dreamed about meeting Jonathan Davis when I was a kid and just giving him a hug; him and Slipknot's music totally helped me recognize and vent off a lot of anger I had when I was younger.
Today you should listen to dark throne, BURZUM and mayhem
Kind of the opposite for me, finally Korn and slipknot gave me soundtrack to bully to
Same bands as my personal faves man.

I’ve never done meth because it’s destroyed several of my friends lives. I did cocaine in college and I loved it so much it was scary. I was always a huge fan of mushrooms. "cool psychosis", "I love psychosis, man!" Man, I think those statements are about the scariest things I have ever heard out of another human's mouth! For someone to actually enjoy going insane is crazy! That's some damn scary territory in my book! When you reach that razor-thin line of sanity or insanity, or that certain peak of "consciousness" or lack thereof, not everyone is fortunate enough to make it back! Steve-O is damn lucky to have made it out of that Hell as he did!
@The Energizer Mommy Haha, I hear ya! Nah, ingesting copious amounts of drugs known to cause psychosis and/or death in many cases, such as Phencyclidine and NOS, are quite literally mind killers! When Steve-O busted through the ol' neighbor's wall whacked out on the crap, he's damn lucky the neighbor didn't dispatch him, that neighbor deserves the good neighbor award of the century, haha!
One of the worst ones was when I was lying down with my eyes closed and this distant baritone voice went from "ahhh" to "ARGHHH!!!" right in my ear. This was during a relapsr period bc I got clean soon after
The funny thing is a lot of people who suffer from psychosis take drugs to try to ESCAPE the psychosis. It is not fun at all, and people who have it are usually the most prone to have drug addictions.
I think the thing with Steve-o IS pushing IT to that limit every damn time. IT being everything. Drugs, alcohol, paper cuts in painful places and/or all of the physical trauma he has put himself through. Hell he was on Hot Ones for a second time and hot sauced his eye. Aggressively hot sauced his eye I might add.
My point is that he may have cut out certain substances but IMHO Steve-o's real addiction=Riding that razor thin apex and sometimes (intentionally) cresting over it. Maximum everything.
Not judging by any means. FWIW he is also one of the most interesting people and a great interview

Drugs. Evil yet fun. Man, I miss those wild times. Likely did every drug on the planet to excess..and while it was awesome feeling, it destroyed my life, my body, my family and my friendships. It took nearly dying of complete liver failure before I woke the fuck up. Without a last minute miracle full liver transplant, I would have bit the dust at 41 years old. Now, I'm clean and sober and celebrate my 44th birthday tomorrow!😊❤

@Swords Chant if you are supposed to sleep roughly 8 hours a week a night, then that is 56 hours a week. There are 168 hours in a week. That means a normal adult should be awake 112 hours a week. THAT BEING SAID, I totally understand what you meant. I take Adderall (prescribed) most of my waking hours, and I know it is cutting my lifespan down.
I hope you continue to live a life without speed. You got this :)
1 year 3 months and 12 days sober from iv heroin and meth, I wouldn't wish the evil of addiction on my worse enemy. So thats why the first 2 records were awesome lol.
Also explains why the last few albums have sucked... because all the band member are clean from meth and two of them have become religious. So that's what happened, they got cured of their evil and now their song doesn't have that nice evil heavy sound it did in the 1st two albums :(
@@getnorgetout9425 Yeah it's like everyone is just obsessed with the downfall of others in certain things like music genre's. Also kinda like how people are fascinated with serial killers. We're just really fucked as a species tbh.
Back when I was prescribed vivanse(a type of amphetamine) for my ADD, I would occasionally have those moments of psychosis if I didn't sleep. It was bizarre seeing people or thinking something was going to happen but didn't. I thought cops were coming to kill me and were hiding in my alley or behind fences. I thought my ex gf and her best friend were throwing stuff at my bedroom window and followed them down the street. I was convinced they were playing hide and seek but no one was there. After that I have a whole new appreciation for people who deal with mental illnesses that causes delusions and hallucinations. And needless to say, I stopped taking ADD medications altogether. Wish there was a better alternative.
Yeah man, jeez... when the cure is worse than the disease, eh?

There's not enough for you man. Points scatter gun.
I can relate to Steve-O saying, "I love the psychosis."
Keep in mind my tolerance was super high, so don't ever try this.
One time I took 15 Vyvanse and 6 Ambien. As a result, the Devil, himself, appeared behind this huge, self-made latch on the front of my door. It was about a 3ft long 2×4 that swung up and down to latch over the door.
The Devil said, "Let me out."
I lifted the latch, then he said, "Yes... Now everything is yours." After that he just floated up into the ceiling and out of the room.
There was this other time I had an outer body experience after being up for 3 days on an abundance of drugs and taking a handful of Tramadol. After about 30 minutes of taking them, I took a hit of weed from a pipe and instantly watched my body get farther and farther away, until "my soul" shot out of existence and in to what seemed like my own dimension. At the time, in my mind, it was a space that was between Heaven and Hell. To me it seemed like I "beat the system."
I've been clean for 8 years now, but will never forget the psychosis.
It’s crazy you did exactly what “the Devil” said without probably even hesitating
The first time I took adderall I took a lot more than I should have but.... hallucinations to that degree? I don’t know man, even shrooms don’t produce hallucinations to that affect. Not calling you a liar or anything but just saying.

@@tangiblemammal5273 if it was easy, you weren't actually addicted. Slow person.
Steve-O is has The most likable personality and coolness factor~
Johnathan Davis is so polite and he’s probably the most kindest celebrity I’ve ever had the honer to watch
I went to listen to "Helmet in a bush" after this :D. What a nice podcast !!
Looking for who asked

"I love psychosis"
i love how steve-o looks younger and healthier now than he did before he got sober. he looks so good.
Im really inclined to give up drinking and weed thanks to Steve o. I have a day job and Im in touch with my loved ones... i dont think i have a problem like Steve does but theres a lot to gain from abstaining... Anyway i might go sober and I appreciate the message. Hope people find the help they need when their addiction takes over :)
First time I heard someone else say that you literally feel it coming out of every pore on your body. Such a nasty drug and after the 20th time the taste would be so bad I almost puke every time. Definitely not my favorite. Been clean for 4 years though.
That's beautiful. Sobriety for that long is such a gift. A hard earned but deserved blessing.
Good for you
Imagine one of the biggest rock stars doing some of the heaviest drugs saying dude stop go go sleep
I highly recommend Heads book “Save Me From Myself”.
Bingo was his name-o...
Too bad god won't do that for me...
5 years clean off Meth! It led me homeless and on the brink of death. I still hear voices but I’m pretty discerning. Life is so much better when your living in it! I’m proud of you Jonathan and Steve!!
"Did you have cool psychosis?!? I loved psychosis man."
-Steve O 😂
This was in a playlist and started playing when I was out of the room and I legit thought Steve-O was Whoopi Goldberg.
Steve-o saying "I fuckin love psychosis man" cracked me the hell up.
to put it in Jackass terms, Korn's third record Follow The Leader was their Jackass Number Two.
*Drugs*
Jonathan: eew
Steve-o: yes!
Yeah dude!
I love hearing these stories.
I grew up in Cabramatta Sydney Australia in the 80s and 90s when drugs flooded Cabramatta.
Drugs and even smoking just disgusted me. My mum was a smoker and she smoked inside. So that was gross, and it kept me away from drugs. which sounds retarded.
But smoking made me want to puke, just the smell of it. So I have never ever even tried smoking let alone any drugs.
I always felt like I was a little crazy, if id take any drugs id lose myself and never come back from it?
Plus a lot of my school friends all got on drugs like heroin. I remember maybe 5 years after school seeing them. it was so sad. they looked like zombies and 20 years older. They could barely talk.
A couple of my close friends were potheads. but they got off that shit eventually.
I feel lucky? I was obsessed with sports and video games and I didn't want to fuck with that.
