Yes, IU is also an actress, an award winning actress at that. You are right she is mute, as indicated by 3 things, use of sign language, the lip ring which is indicating a speech problem which disappears when looking through the camera and the presence of the microphone in the wedding scene, also indicating that she likely lost her voice something during the events leading upto the start of the MV. She is NOT deaf although many people think she is mainly because they 1st notice that their is an issue when they are at the table and she uses sign language. And then there is a behind the video of her recording session making this song. Which she did while still recovering from the flu she caught on the 1st day of filming the MV. It is quite remarkable to watch her push through the pain and exhaustion, still sounding like an angel, and as always having a sense of humor. I have watched several voice coaches and singer react to this video and they were all amazed and greatly worried that IU continued the session has there was a good chance she could hurt ot even damage her voice. One coach said she obviously knows what she is doing and how to do it, but that she would never let a singer sing in that condition. I will be interested in what "B" sides you decide to watch. For her Love Poem album the title track is the song Love Poem, for which there is no MV. It is her most covered song. And My Sea from her Lilac album also doesn't have an MV but is anything but a "B" track. IU placed it has the 8th track on that album because 8 is her favorite number and one she holds as a place of honor. From the age of 18, when I suddenly received great love that changed my life overnight, until now - there hasn’t been a single day that I didn’t imagine it ending. It feels vaguely lonely, scary and I thought it was a natural thing to happen. However, upon thinking about that everyday for over a decade, my attitude towards it started to change little by little.
Right now, it doesn’t scare me that much anymore. I don’t think I will feel greater regret nor loneliness when that moment comes. Above all, I don’t think it is coming anytime soon.
The reason why I, a pessimistic child full of worries, was able to change this much in the meantime is because I have people who tirelessly reassured me every day for the past decade. Thanks to them, looking back, I have never been alone even just for a moment in my life as IU.

Starting off with a minimal and vintage piano intro and ending in a maximum outro, this ballad with a clear narrative arc continues IU's grand ballad series, which has been well-loved by fans, consisting of songs such as ‘Secret’, ‘Dear Name’, ‘Love poem’ and ‘My sea’.
In the second half of the song, the vocals swirl as if in a battle and the instrumental arrangement is reminiscent of a grand symphony, maximizing the emotions conveyed. Rhythms that seem like they are floating in the sky and the harmony themes that build on them enhance the appeal of the 6/8 time signature and the strings that spread out and gently envelop the whole sound add to the breadth and depth of the song.
