It is also through the rectangle lenses we see from tv/mobile/computer/press/SNS media screens, delivered through rectangle pixels. Universal values, that don't accept none conforming entities.
IU is a very unique singer and is known as a national treasure in South Korea. She encountered financial difficulties in her family when she was a child, so she determined to become an "adult" who could support her own life earlier. Because she likes singing, she decided to be a singer. She hoped to connect the hearts between "I and YOU" through music with emotions, so she took the stage name "IU". Originally, she wanted to be a traditional ballad singer when she debuted, but because too young, she did not gain much attention from the public in that time(when she is only 15). Later, the entertainment company tried to package her as an idol singer and achieved great success (in the year she was 18). But when she became very popular with the public at the age of 21 with her beautiful appearance and cheerful personality, she decided to regain her original ambition and embark on a completely different path from ordinary Kpop......She remake songs more than 20-years-old, and re-introduced the popular culture of the previous generation to the younger generation, and received a very good response from public. From then on, Koreans no longer viewed her as an idol with only a sweet image, but instead viewed her with respect as a real "artist of music" who contributed to popular culture. In additional to her famous angelic voice just like moonlight, she is also known for her versatility and is an award-winning singer, music producer, lyricist, also a top-tier actress and model. She has many popular songs composed by herself. Because she has held the belief that "love will eventually win" for many years, she wrote the lyrics and produce the project herself, and specially asked the film director she had collaborated with to film this MV.(The directer won the 2023 Blue Gragon Films Award of Korea)
IU isn’t just a singer. She’s the song writer and producer of almost her own songs. She wrote beautiful lyric of this songs and created the idea of this MV,even contacted a famous Director for this MV by herself also cast V as the lead male . This song is a pre release of her new album which will release on feb 20 but till now it achieved 300 times perfect all kill on Korean chart already. Thanks for nice your reaction .
IU also released the behind the scenes of the recording of the track... she had a horrible cold and I can't even imagine how she hit half those notes... You will really enjoy all three behind the scenes Jess... BangtanTV posted a shorter version of the one IU posted on her IUTV channel... worth a look even if its not to react to but just for your own enjoyment. Tae as always is funny as heck.... and the sibling type banter between the two of them is the same as between IU and Yoongi (He hosted her on his Suchwita and Yoongi, Tae and Hobi appeared on IUs show Palette)💜
Thank you for the recommendations! I will definitely check out the behind the scenes for this. Not sure if I’ll react to it, but I would love to learn more about it either way😊💜
She’s deaf and he is blind in one eye.The cube represents discrimination against them. But also against anyone who is considered different. There is a behind the scenes video of the making of this video.
Hi dear. 68yo Army here. I always look forward to your videos. Only sweet Jess would try to find the good in an evil cube...lol. Oh...and V starred in an historical K drama called Hwarang. His performance ranges from comedic to dramatic and his scenes are worth a watch. Hurry back sweet dear.💜
Like this reaction format much better! Great reaction as always. This MV is so amazing - IU is deaf and V is blind in one eye. When they see each other they don’t see any flaws, but in the real world, society (the box?) doesn’t see them that way - focuses on their flaws and sees that as a reason to “remove” them. So sad but sadly true in some societies.
In the background... the 'nice people' are actually pointing and yelling at them for not being 'perfect people'... they both have disabilities (Tae is blind in one eye, IU is mute - some say she's deaf and doesn't speak so the cube can't hear them... but she hears the cube... so ... ) which is why the cube (the director named it Nemo) is searching for them... so through the camera they see how it could (or should) be if the world was more tolerant..... No doubt someone will post a longer version but that's the gist. At the end, she uses the ASL sign for I Love You by tapping on his chest three times and then covers his 'good' eye so that he doesn't see what's coming as Nemo evaporates them both.... The pile of clothes reminded me of Spring Day.... so I was a bawling mess before I even saw the ending the first time hahaha....
I didn't see the people in black as bad because they're only there through the camcorder golden lighting. I kind of thought they were the souls whose clothes are in the pile, to me they seemed to be celebrating them considering how IU and V are smiling happy and playful among them, they don't look scared or threatened at all... ? Just my two cents 😊💜
if u actually look carefully the ppl in black are trying to stop them. V hits them and yeah like rewatch that scene. Its funny but not at the same time. @@brayonne1755
Thank you for making me laugh with the comment about giving credit to the cubes😂 this song and mv always makes me cry hahaha and it's also funny that you said that 'cause the cube is credited as "special guest" at the end😂
Thanks so much for your nice reaction 👍♥️ Most of us who watched this music video can relate to even shedding tears at the end of the MV. I never get tired watching all the different reactions (You Tube)/song everyday. IU and V are both talented actors and singers. Hoping for another team-up in the near future. ♥️🎶👏♥️
I honestly like this way of doing things a little better. Because you watched the MV twice, you caught several things that you missed the first time, like V's blindness in one eye. I don't think you saw it, but in the credits, the actually gave the cube credit as a "Special Guest". A lot of people want to see Taehyung act in a K-drama, but that's not even remotely possible while he's serving as a military police officer. And when he gets out in June of next year, he's probably going to be focused on BTS activities. Maybe in a couple of years. Oh, and you're pronouncing her name right.
The director did say viewers can have their own interpretation. The camcorder serves as a filter and allows imagination to roam freely. Everything is imagination through the camcorder. Reality resumes when you see their wounds and tattered clothes. In the end, the two of them are seen ascending to a better place through the camcorder, while they are eradicated in reality. So sad. So beautiful. So brutally real.
V (Tae) did this MV with a week left before his enlistment. He wanted to work with the director, plus he loved the song, and felt he needed to do it, it was imperative 💜
The cube 'Nemo' represents the discrimination towards marginalized people (symbolized in IU being mute and Taehyung being blind in one eye). They stayed together till the end with their love sustained, free from all oppression and pressure from society. LOVE WINS ALL!
I recommend watching her Behind the Scene Video there is also a short 8 minute behind the scenes by BANGTANTV. The Director did an awesome job telling the story full of emotions from “My Dearest” to Love, love, love, love. The chemistry the vocals, the lyrics, the acting. . . Give them an Oscar.❤
I cried like a baby when I saw this the first time it still hurts my heart😢 iu has a song called right ft Suga and Suga has a song called people pt ft iu great songs
Thank you for your comment!🥰 I would love to react to Twice one day, but I am only doing TXT and BTS right now. I will try to get to them in the future!
I think it’s genius they used boxes. Because people put people in boxes- labels, differences, stereotypes, prejudice.

Wouldn't the world be a beautiful place without hate and discrimination? At the end she taps him under his hand three times, sign for I Love You.
She’s deaf and he is blind in one eye.The cube represents discrimination against them. But also against anyone who is considered different. There is a behind the scenes video of the making of this video.
Behind the scenes from IU TV and BangtanTV were also very interesting

Do react to the behind the scenes of Love wins all from IUTV and Bangtan TV both.
Jess Please react to the bangtan bomb of the making of the video and iu did a making on iu tv

The cube 'Nemo' represents the discrimination towards marginalized people (symbolized in IU being mute and Taehyung being blind in one eye).
They stayed together till the end with their love sustained, free from all oppression and pressure from society.
LOVE WINS ALL!
No, mv is really a commentary about present day (e.g. the camera world wasn't that great, if you look carefully) set against a dystopian background.

I somehow have a problem with you calling the cube a magic box. There's nothing magical about it.
