@@vrindasugandhi1646 it’s a reference to how in fiction the greater the number of enemies you face, the easier it is to kill loads of them, but when you face one enemy, even if he’s the same as the group, because it’s just one guy he’s much harder to kill - if 100 ninjas attack an enemy they will be shown as dying in droves, but if just one ninja attacks the same position he will be able to dodge all bullets. Aeon Flux is playing with this idea in this video by regularly swapping the numbers of enemies back and forth, to the point it becomes noticeable and distracting.

Here we see a little of the different reasons WHY someone goes to war. and you arent the only obedient WITH a point.

During the blackouts we just went through because of the winter storm. I watched all of Aeon Flux on UMD on my PSP. Was happy as could be hiding under my wool blankets watching the entire series, including pilot and shorts, plus seasons 1 and 2. I had not watched this in a very long time.
I personally love how the first guy is literally just zome random grunt,i feel like the other characters mostly have some quirk to them, like one is a ninja swordmaster and another one is a commando valkyrie lady, yet the first guy is literally just some random fodder who woke up and said "fuck it, we ball"
I thought the Aeon Flux main lady was suppose to be the main character, dead in the beginning lol I guess the show isn't driven by one character but the by each persons journey. i don't know...
Aeon Flux dies or is captured by the enemy every episode, but yeah, this is the only one where she dies early on and most of the episode isn't about her.

Well, Kusama's movie was a PG-13 linear narrative, so it couldn't help but be very different from what had come before -- but I do believe the essence of Aeon is in the film, and said film reminds us of what made her different from visual homages that came later such as Selene or Trinity.
With the decline of traditional hand drawn animation and cell art, it really pains me knowing that the effort and time and sweat in tears won't go into another show that will ever be quite like this one was. I know most anime traditionally was grueling and unfathomably torturous to make. I know that a lot of people will never know the lengths that people went to to get a show out, but I have so much respect for the people that had the vision in the raw push to keep going so that stories and shows like this could be made.
...this is the episode that hooked me on the show... the progression of one beating another then beaten, then that one being killed (and so on) was such a visual feat (and untraditional storyline) at the time (and for me to wrap my brain around in 1992).

There’s two countries, one where it’s an a very morally correct technocratic dictatorship run by the lover of the girl in the first scenes (Aeon) and there’s another amoral nihilistic anarchist society who preach peace (but actively try to sabotage the other country). Aeon is one of the agents from the anarchist society who tries to sabotage and destroy the other. They fight just to fight all the time and Aeon gets caught up with the fighting through her missions
So she just singlehandedly charges well defended position and kills everyone because she can jump faster than bullets can fly. But then she gets killed by a dude that played dead who then goes on a similar rampage that she went through. And just as I thought that the plot can't get any more stupid he gets killed by the dude with a sword and he then kills bunch of people with fire arms using only sword, some throwing knives and even more massive plot armour than the previous two.

nothing looks like this anymore. its sad. it also shamelessy doesnt make sense and embraces how it basically plays out like a dream. yes, they are unarmored, shooting each other with pistol caliber guns even though they have spaceships and this is all non sensical yet its dream like and fun.

I can’t remember where I originally saw this but for about a year+ I’ve been trying to find it and I’m so happy to have found it again.
