This is a great episode. 1st, it's easy to see child soldiers getting equiped with exoframes as they are that cheap. It also grounds this series in reality as child soldiers are common today in underdeveloped countries. 2nd. The exoframe isnt automatically better then a tank. With forewarning and range a tank can destroy exoframes easily. The creators of this series are fairly tactically minded as compared to other mecha anime. These mechs do not trump tanks by sheer fact that they are mechs. 3rd. I dont know if it was intended This, but this subverts a common mecha and anime trope. Just because kids fight in war doesnt make "instant elite warriors". Too often in anime do I see young kids defeating superiors in both age, experience, and strength by sheer fact they are a stupid mcguffin thing like being a "new type" or just the fact they have "youthful vigor " or something even more inane like "kids aren't jaded and are more hopeful " and that somehow makes it so we should listen to them/let them lead us. Spoilers, but no kids run any countries today or lead their armies, because kids are ignorant and inexperienced and deserve none of the praise or obsession they get in media and especially anime. (Now I'll "ok boomer" myself before someone predictably does lol)
Mutual feelings. The angst driven, pseudo psychobabble spouting, teen superhero anime holds zero interest for me. Idk why so many heroes in anime are teens. Is this still a phase even now? I miss Gundam 0083, 0080 and 8th ms team kind of mecha anime, piloted by adults with a plausible plot.
@@AP-qc9hi they have to appeal to the kids, otherwise they have to actually make intellectual and decent stuff for us old farts (im 29 and i feel old just talking about this stupid subject of child protags), older people have more standards, but the new kids are yet to be jaded by the tropes of yesteryear. theres a reason many reboots are just done up with progressively younger kids in leading roles, they dont want to appeal to the actual older fans of the old franchise, they want those new kids to spend their allowance.

6:00 South African made Denel NTW-20 anti-materiel rifle, overkill on that drone.
I have to say though, the creators and animaters of this series really know their stuff, with regards to the weapons used. Very well done.
You should see the modified M2s they had in the last episode. That was smart
They even got it down pat on the part that grown ass men will use KIDS to fight in war... dont forget that part. It's a pastime in Africa nowadays (well since warlords became a thing)...
@@SasoSasori- yeah that was interesting and realistic enough. Instead of brand new weaponry, might as well adapt the M2 into an auto rifle role. Then again the US EXO team has a unique rifle
@@LindLyman probably because they do have the money and resources to create custom designs while the rest of the world is stuck using older (but still perfectly functional) weapons
@Channel07 now when are we going to see the little girls getting their heads eaten by eldritch monstruosities
I really love how realistic mechs were actually used and how it tries to depict realistic modifications and armor to mechs n such i love this series already
Good points mate.
@@AP-qc9hi because children spend their parent's money on things. Adults don't want to
Good points but, it should say “better than” not “better then” , then is used when referring to an immediate progression of time, than is used as a comparative.

I love how the EXO sniper rifle is practically an enlarged Denel NTW-20 Anti-Materiel Rifle, somehow similar to the Halo sniper rifle
"The enemy will eventually run out of ammo"
Only if your dead former comrades weapons are out of their reach, but even then, it's war. Anything within arm's reach can be a weapon if someone has the tact to will it so.
That's not the point. It means the enemy will soon tire of the expense of fighting them to the point that it is not worth it. Financially and politically (think USSR in Afghanistan and USA in Viet Nam respectively).
I hate how realistic this series is. It didn't miss a darn thing.
In which parts? Defo aint see the world that equals developped and developing country in reality
Whoever wrote this obviously took "Attention, present arms" literally. As "present arms" means hold out your rifle, as in, present you armament. Not "present arms" as in salute and literally present/show your arm lol.

Child soldiers are extremely common in Africa, mostly because they don't need to be paid. They just need to promise them a meal, then send them forward, into minefields or machine guns.

Not sure it's not explained
Its sort of explained in the official obsolete teaser web page. Its possible from a short distance from the exoframe, but this phenomenon is rare and so far is difficult to explain.
The way I see it.. Like said in ep 3 even science cant explain "consciousness " and it's the way these are controlled. Maybe it's a type of telepathy a suit can have, but maybe either experience with the specific suit or a type of mental control the pilot must train. Either way it could make for some interesting scenarios, like us it possible for a pilot to be in an exoframe and yet control another at the same time?
