I purchased a ONN 43 in Roku 8 months ago , i could never get the anything on Roku to play, after getting help from Roku 2 times still didn't work, they told me it was a ONN problem so i got in touch with them and after trying all sots of resets or what have you it still would not work , everything else works great very clear picture, only thing that don't work is Roku so ONN sent me a email saying they were reimbursing my full price and do whatever i want with tv ,give it away or whatever, i received my check about a week later, i have a spare bedroom i'll put the tv in and bought another works fine
I'm getting one as soon as they come out here.

The FACT is that future Amazon devices (not any current ones) WILL disable sideloading because they WILL implement their LINUX OS that they've been working on now for years.

Amazon wants as much CONTROL over what you do
(on "your" device
that "you" PAID for).
They didn't purposefully block Mouse Toggle. It was an 'innocent bystander' of them blocking INTERNAL 'adb settings' ... which they blocked because it was a key to 3rd-party LAUNCHER MANAGER apps!!
THAT has always been what they could not allow (as they prevent Amazon's deluge of ads from being 'seen' ... which is how they make all the money they do from paying sponsors)!
TechDoctorUK's two utility apps were also unintended victims (his one-click ’Cache Cleaner' and 'App Killer' apps), as they were dependent on functioning internal ADB commands.
FWI ... 'Mouse Toggle' can STILL be activated on FireOS 6 and FireOS 7 devices (but possibly not on the two new FireOS 8 sticks?), by downloading 'Remote ADB Shell' app onto your Android smartphone and submitting THREE SHORT LINES OF COMMAND CODE to the ISP address of your Fire streaming device(s)! These commands were provided in a Chris Waite UA-cam video (search for it).
The only issue is that the Mouse Toggle will 'deactivate' when you need to REBOOT your device (or something causes it to do this on its own).
However, this is not as problematic as you might first think. Because once you have entered those short commands of adb code on your phone's RadbShell app the first time, those commands are SAVED in the apps memory (and can be easily accessed by 'long-pressing' on the Command Line). You don't have to 're-type' them so, 'boom-boom-boom,' you paste them in and your Mouse Toggle is re-activated!!
Trust me, it's easier than it probably sounds! And I'm very dependent on having Mouse Toggle available! Yes, you could buy a wireless mouse, mini-keyboard w/mouse, etc ... but that is an extra expense that shouldn't be necessary AND I find them much less convenient!
So ... THIS IS THE WAY! 👍

Their NEXT OS will be pure
LINUX based.
As you know (but maybe other don't realize) once they switch to their NEW VEGA OS,

Since they've been working on it so long

It will come.
& sideloading will go away on the upcoming models of firesticks.

Well, it can be debated whether Amazon is going to a 'closed OS' with Vega on their streaming devices. So, he metely gave his opinion.
But as far as CURRENT devices, he's merely stating that all the fear-mongering talk that Amazon is going to install the new OS on them is silly ... for multiple reasons. On THIS, I 100% agree.
However, it doesn't mean they are not going to keep being major d-bags in how they force updates that make their own customers' experiences WORSE (instead of better) and THAT is the reason I will soon be going to another streaming platform (Android-TV or Google-TV). Unfortunately, I am rather dependent on my Echo devices and that psycho byatch, 'Alexa' and just don't have money to switch it all (plus I still have a mostly-functional Recast DVR that requires it). sigh!

This video is a joke right april fools or something so much in this video can be debunked its crazy. Firesticks hae always been garbage amazon sells a streaming service does not make any money really from the sale of sticks. They want to control their device and do not want you to side load or pirate anything. Vega OS is out already and does not side load the app will be ported very easilly over to the new os. no need to remake them completly. there is a tool that coverts them already. So fire devices will become just like Roku in a sense. That doesnt change the fact people should have been buying something better in the first place.
