It's mind boggling that Amazon DON'T realize that the majority of their customers are going to STOP buying their devices,
since they can't sideload apps anymore.
@@KennyJ702but why are they concerned about piracy they should be focusing on selling sticks. They aren't promoting piracy. Like kodi the system is the system why ppl do with it is there problem. If someone takes an ebike and put a different motor on it that goes 70 mph and kills themselves it's not the e bikes makers fault. I don't get it. If I had the resources & know how. I would make a blank stick, no subscription, no force content, just a decent processor good amount of memory the android system that's it. Sell trillions..

When new operating systems have arrived, I have seen many improvements that I soon forget about the old technology. Like Pirate files, torrents, kodi, CB radio Rabbit ears, roof top antenna with TV top directional clicker ....

Main reason I bought Firesticks were for their sideload option lol! I think this will be a huge financial mistake. Their Firestick sales will plummet without sideload availability. I'll still use my current Firesticks until they are out of date, but after that I may look elsewhere. I'm sure another company will pick up on Amazon's mistake, and capitalize on having their own Android OS for sideloading.
Firesticks are still very useful without sideloading. They have plenty of free apps and content, but they have Ads/Adverts which are a little annoying in the middle of a scene lol 😂! Anyways thank you for the updates as usual Tanya! Absolutely love your vids, keep them coming 😊❤!

The TVos and Roku OS don't allow sideloading and those devices out sell fire OS devices 2 or 3 to 1.

I bought a Wal-Mart Onn 4k a month ago and I have installed my side loaded apps to it. I have my firestick also.

Still have my firecubes and theybwint update with the new software even the old fire tv boxes skim models they still work perfectly even with the latest updates and they are yars old now, I also have a couple if nvidia shield pro models so will stick with then thank you for the update Tanya 😊

I just purchased what was labeled as New updated Fire TV 4K max. I haven't set it up yet but it now comes with 16 GB memory and states the new OS is Fire TV 8 based on Android 11.

As a guess. The old Hudl machines weren't updated . They were just abandoned and made obsolete.
So Amazon will probably do the same by bringing in a new model to raise revenue.

I wish I would've seen this video a few days ago! I have a fire stick on the way from Amazon and the only reason I bought it was to load my VPN on it to get around blackout games and regional content but if I can't do that it's not worth having so back it goes.
As mentioned in the video, existing devices will not be affected.

I would assume the old devices cannot run the new OS, so owners will only have to make a decision when their FireTV sticks give out. I've got two FireTV sticks atm and will probably move away from Amazon and use a SBC (RPi 5 a strong possibility) running Kodi and the like.

Hello, thank you for your informative videos! I have a Pioneer Fire TV running Fire OS 7, and I connect to it wirelessly from my PC with ADB App Control. I am able to disable apps on the Fire TV and I have most of the ads blocked on the home screen and on most of the apps. Also, I have a Roku TV with developer options enabled and I can sideload apps using the Roku web plug-in. If you hear something going to happen with the new OS forced update let me know and I will disable the System Updates and the Appstore on Fire TV.

My Firestick (OS 6.7) updated last night and now mouse toggle is not working. Heard something about ADB being disabled, but still have access to it.
There is currently an issue with ADB Debugging. As an alternative, and more reliable method of using a mouse with Fire TV, you might want to check this out: ua-cam.com/video/Jj1sMPRk1-Q/v-deo.html.

While I loved the Fire TV Sticks and have a number of them on all of our TVs, this sort of interference is exactly why I migrated over to Wally World's Onn TV box over a year ago. It works just as well, if not better, than the Fire TV does and there does not seem to be any interference to the owner of the device. Hopefully there will be someone that will break through this crazy action taken by the people at FireTV and return our ability to enjoy the FireTV the way we all want.

I won't be upgrading to another newer fire stick when the time comes. I think I'll swap over to a Nvidia shield instead. The ability to side lode was an important part of the decision on picking the fire stick in the first place.....

Does the Nord VPN offer cover multiple devices with one purchase as i have four firesticks running on different tv's, OOr will i have to take out four different subscriptions
Up to six devices can be connected simultaneously with nordvpn.com/firetvsticks. Although, NordVPN can be installed on multiple devices, only six devices can be actively connected to NordVPN at any given time.
I'm a wait and see as developers have been advised to adjust to reactive native.
Also Amazon want a piece of the apple pie.
As apple have been advised not to restrict its apple devices in Europe. Amazon will want that market chunk
