neoiak well if you search you'll see that german comes from the same language root indoeuropean lol but it's true that spanish and french are very similar (not in pronunciation tho)
Not exactly. English is very much a Germanic language - 40% of the VOCABULARY comes from French, although in reality the majority of the most common words are Germanic. For instance, there are 20 words in your comment, but only two of them ("percent" and "language") are latin/french based words, the other 18 are all Germanic words.
To be fair, German, like English is quite on the edge of what is Germanic. For example: day in Danish, Dutch, Norse & Swedish is dag, but it's Tag in German. Also: apple, appel, eple, but Apfel. For more on that, see High German consonant shift on wiki. German is a rather odd Germanic language, consedering the name. I'm Dutch by the way.
Every single person in this video is eye candy. I don't know where Dave is getting and hiding all these attractive friends of his but he needs to share.
The reason why Spain and France call Germany Alemania and Allemagne respectively is because there used to be a confederation of Germanic tribes called the Alemanni (All Man) that ruled much of the territory that came in contact with the Roman Empire, and, as we know from history, Spanish and French are both Romance languages, meaning they descended from Latin, the language of the Roman Empire. Additionally, the French were descendants of the Franks (another Germanic tribe) so they needed to make a distinction among the other fellow Germanic tribes, hence Allemagne became the preferred term. Iberia (Spain & Portugal) was also invaded by the Visigoths (AKA western Goths, another Germanic tribe), and, thus, it is believed that the Spanish and Portuguese most likely adopted the term Alemania and Alemanha respectively from the Franks. Surprisingly, similar names are used in Turkish (Almanya), Arabic (Almanya), Azerbaijani (Almaniya) and Welsh (Almaen).
If anyone cares enough. Allemagne comes from the German Allemani tribe that bordered the Frakish state in the early middle ages, they lived east of the Rhine river in todays Baden-Württemberg.
This video was published in 2016...😅 but yes it's spain, germany and then france, lol funny🤣 but.. ... 😑 the united states ... yeah ... well 😓 they remain fans of their "soccer ... in football it's not that yet😏

Manzana comes from the latin 'Mala Mattiana' meaning Mala (mallum): apple, and Mattiana from the pioneer of the apple farming, the roman botanic Caio Matius. Since in vulgar latin the words started to lose the latin accents, and Malus also mean the word bad, it ended only using the word Mattiana, then mazana in old castilian and later manzana in spanish. (In latin Malus (apple tree) and Malus (bad) were distinguishable by the accent but not in vulgar latin) Other romance languages, for the same reason, started to use just the term fruit in latin: Pomum. So there is the french origin of the word Pomme, literally meaning fruit.

Need European and Asian country pronunciations people together. TOGATHERRRRR. TOGTHRRRR. ALL SEVEN PEOPLEEEEE. WE ARE THE WORLD. WE ARE THE CHILDREN. TOGETHERRRRRR. Ok I'm done. Sorry, folks.
About how we say "Germany" in French (and Spanish), it's because in the early middle age the kingdom of the Franks was bordered by the tribe of the "Alamans" on the Rhine river, so we ended up calling all the Germans "Allemands". :)
Well in arabic we normally say Al-almaniyya (ال مانية) Similar just like in french L'allemend C'est vrai que je trouver cela en petit peu bizzare pendant un moment
who did studied all Three languages?? Spanish my Whole life (Im Spanish) then French?? I did learn French for 4 years and then German for 3 and a halv years.... soo... and English for 10 years
So, if after all those years anybody still is interested: The reason why Germany has such different names in different languages is because in the area of Germany different tribes have settled. For example, around the french border it was moslty 'Alemanni', further north Teutons and Germans (germanic tribes), etc. And when those areas became parts of nations, the names for them turned into their nationality. The german word 'Deutsch' has a different origin and history, it's basically derivated from 'Diota'/'Diutisc' and means 'belonging to the/one people/population/nation/crowd', basically all casual speakers of the germanistic idiom, to differentiate from romanic speakers of the neighboring folks or the latin of the clerics. That started more or less 2,000 years ago, before the 'union' of german nations through the roman empire.
I'm Filipino! And some of the Spanish words are familiar to us because of colonization. "super mercado", we use word "merkado" in the Philippines meaning market. We call Spain, "espanya/españa", and USA, "estados unidos". We also use in our daily lives the counting system of Spanish (uno, dos, tres, kwatro, cinco...), and the Filipino term for apple is "mansanas"- which is derived from Spanish 'manzana'.
Oh, but you probably do. Like in the other languages, say "Yo". Just don't try to use it like a greeting ("Yo, yo, yo!"), cause that'd mean "Me, me, me!" ;)
영어의 역사 1500년 449~1066년 게르만 앵글로색슨족의 언어로 시작 1066~1500년 프랑스 윌리엄의 영국 정복으로 프랑스어의 영향을 받음 프랑스 지배 영향으로 프랑스 유래 영어 단어는 고급 (beef : 노예가 바치는 소고기 요리) 앵글로색슨 유래 단어는 서민적 (cow : 서민이 키우는 소) ua-cam.com/video/-bCSHRBEwwQ/v-deo.html

(In latin Malus (apple tree) and Malus (bad) were distinguishable by the accent but not in vulgar latin)
Other romance languages, for the same reason, started to use just the term fruit in latin: Pomum. So there is the french origin of the word Pomme, literally meaning fruit.

It's intetesting, and at the same time, it is what I hope that they speak English naturally :)
About how we say "Germany" in French (and Spanish), it's because in the early middle age the kingdom of the Franks was bordered by the tribe of the "Alamans" on the Rhine river, so we ended up calling all the Germans "Allemands". :)
There are still Traditions and an dialect that are linked to that "Allemannen-tribe" in the South-West of Germany
In Spain Alemania means, the land of the alamanes.
Okok im french and i come for correct all the mistakes Germany = allemagne german =allemand
Well in arabic we normally say
Al-almaniyya (ال مانية)
Similar just like in french
L'allemend
C'est vrai que je trouver cela en petit peu bizzare pendant un moment
Tu m'apprends un truc dis donc.

Just don't try to use it like a greeting ("Yo, yo, yo!"), cause that'd mean "Me, me, me!" ;)
