Protege is very strong!!! Protege is the best power impersonator in all fiction!!! He was able to copy Living Tribunal's powers easily, plus all of the other abstracts!!!
A way to defeat Protege with no powers would probably be cancer (before he could get healing factor) or some sort of anti-organic dna destroying bomb, which is not a power but a weapon. Protege cannot copy weapons, so Tony could probably face him on in the beginning too since his suit is technically a weapon
It’s possible that someone with the ability to deactivate powers, or a person with a power that can only be used once and then it erases all your powers could take him down. You could also simply just make him absorb powers that when combined are so unstable that they destroy the user. For instance have him absorb powers that manipulate matter and anti matter. Or dark force and light force. When those things combine they explode. Have him copy the powers of crusher kreel and then trick him into turning into something that works against his other powers. Or make him absorb a power that negates all his other powers. Or something with the byproduct of making you completely vegetative.
The only beings that can beat protege is us, we can make and destroy whatever we want in fiction, the one who made protege can strip him of all of his powers, even the copy ability
