The first thing to do is audit homeless advocacy groups. Someone is living it up on all that money.

While you're at it, call in the DEA and have them arrest and prosecute the government officials who are drugging up people with meth and dumping them on the street. The government calls them "Safe Inject Sites". But it's really called conspiracy to possess, distribute, and administer a controlled substance.

    • @kansasthunderman1

You're just spreading more propaganda from the corporate mouthpiece media.
Most people don;t give the homeless any money nor are homeless getting welfare. You can't get general assistance unless you have an apartment at a residential street address. A post office box is not an acceptable address to obtain welfare.
Furthermore, there are no services to get homeless off the streets. In fact, the homeless problem is a deliberate plan to get rid of low rise apartment buildings (and their middle class residents) and replace them with high rises for the wealthy class.
Do a search for "Agenda 21" and you will see how cities are being gutted to build high rise housing.

@o zThey need to separate the vets with ptsd...let the VA handle them. They need to put people with extreme mental disorders in mental institutions..Schizophrenics etc. They are not safe on the street at all. Drug addicts...separate hospitals detox centers..after detox...1 year in therapy in lockdown. The ones left should be the very few on the streets who are displaced families.. them..housing, training. And work for welfare. Better for self esteem. Better to be able to say if your a kid in school: my mommy works for the government. And she would learn to socialize, parent, feel pride. Its a no lose. In my humble opinion. Oh yes, and the sociopaths who rob for fun and because they are just losers...go to jail for your crime. Thats it. DO IT AND SEE IF I AM RIGHT. I am a Democrat who has been pushed too far by both parties.

I visited San Francisco from Australia for the first time in May 2018. In fact, it was my arrival port and my very first experience of the USA. I have to say that San Francisco is a very beautiful city with lots of amazing attractions but your homelessness problem truly shocked me. You’d never see anything remotely like this in my home city of Sydney, a city of over five million people. I really hope you guys can get on top of the problem, both for the sake of the homeless and the future of your otherwise beautiful city.

The year 2015 spring I lost everything
I lost my apartment, I got evicted from my place.
My car got repo, because I wasn’t making any payments
I was working at a gas station but I was chasing a dream so I quite my job.
I didn’t have no money or noting save up, I had no rich family members to help me.. so I end up homeless I move to someone house down south but they kick me out they place because they stole from our job.
So I got fire, funny thing is the same person who fire me call me later on down the line and ask if I wanted my job back but it was way to late.. but back to the story
I end up sleeping at a Grey hound station and I had to leave a lot of my clothes behind..
I smell bad like old sweat and dirt I look bad, I wasn’t eating food I ate when I can but it wasn’t the best food to eat.
My clothes was dirty and I slept on Grey hound station floors..
i detox my body too I shave all my hairs off my body and head and throw away all my old dirty clothing. I had to shower for a hour to get the smell off me.
Fast forward I end up getting a job at McDonald’s and a car wash and fast forward again I end up getting my real estate license and now I’m a sales broker also.
I have my own place now and making good money now, I have a new car and a good career.
I end up gaining 55 pounds by eating well and hitting the gym also, I have a lot of new clothing and underwear.. I shower twice a day and get haircuts every week and wear very good cologne.
Went from wearing rags to wearing name brand clothing and suits to work.
When people look at me you wouldn’t know I use to live on the streets. I am very grateful and thankful now
And being homeless made me humble and very strong.

Those apartments are not for the homeless. They're most likely reserved for Syrian "refugees" who are being resettled in the U.S. at $10,000 a person. These "refugees" are getting free housing , health care, and affirmative action for job placement so they "blend in" and look like legitimate citizens.
If you want to call someone a parasite, then Syrian 'refugees' are an excellent example.

Where is the money really going and if you are really giving away that much money, what is the incentive to not be on this assistance?

    1. A living wage is rare.
    2. Inefficient and under funding of social programs
    3. Overpriced housing
    4. Warmer climate. Easier to be homeless
    5. Homelessness is about the only opportunity for people to stabilize economically
    6. Outsourcing and the flooding of illegal immigrants for cheap labor
    7. Lack of job security
    8. "Charitable" organizations profit off the homeless
    9. Many shelters worse than being homeless
    10. Jobs that pay a living wage require expensive and inefficient "education"
    11. Modern society is self destructive
    12. Most of the economic "growth," is imaginary.

The people in charge who have allowed this to happen to put so many innocent people's lives in danger need to be held accountable. According to the math, SF spends $15,500 every year to house ONE person. Why not construct a 20-story high-rise filled with bunk beds and dorms, then charge the residents a nominal rent (maybe $300 a month) to cover the costs? Singapore does it, and it seems to work fine ...

I am flabbergasted that the same f____ story continues regarding the SF budget for the homeless and the city's inability to account for expenditures due to the multitude of different departments and programs that provide services. The plan (not sure of date) at least 6 months ago was to consolidate services so it would be easier to track. And nothing has been done yet? Nothing at least started yet? If the people responsible in city government were held to some resemblance of accountability when it came to expenditures and promises, I think we would see some successful problem solving in one of the greatest cities on earth (or once considered to be). I am prone to suspect greed, laziness, lack of empathy ( many psychologist agree that a large portion of politicians suffer from some level of sociopathic personality disorder) and misappropriation (theft) of public funds. As usual....the talking heads keep reporting what amounts to a lot of talk and no action, and they actually believe that the public won't notice.

it's very hard for me to have sympathy for the homeless in SF like I once did. I invite a homeless man to my apartment, I feed him dinner, buy him even more food and he sleeps at my place for several hours. because I didn't give him $50 that he asks for, he takes my scissors and cuts up almost every item of clothing I have and takes off while I am briefly away. I could've just let him starve.

Alan Tolbert mental illness is a big part of homelessness, so I'd advise prior to playing good Samaritan and taking a homeless person home, or even awarding them cash, unless you're certain of their sanity, won't help. offer to provide a meal, and if you possibly have information for centers that help the homeless, pass it on. homeless are Americans too.

    • @kansasthunderman1
      @kansasthunderman1 6 років тому +4

How is mental illness a cause of homelessness?
If your rent is increased 30% and you're evicted, it doesn't matter whether you're insane or perfectly rational. The booming economy and rent increases are a hoax that is crated by the government shoveling tons of money into big cities.
Furthermore, did you know that the government is actually creating so called "mental illness" by intentionally drugging people with methamphetamine and dumping them on the street in plain view of the public?
Just do a search for "Safe Injection Sites" and you will see that the government is actually perpetrating a cruel hoax on the pubic to make it appear that cities are being overrun with mentally deranged people.

kansasthunderman1 the housing bubble busting is a new phenomenon, homeless have been with us since the 1980's, so all these updates in rent is fairly new, yet homelessness persist.
I believe it's just your white ass attempting to lay the misfortune of homelessness at the feet of those suffering, when in fact I believe it's a government plan to usurp all real estate and put it in the hands of white drug addicts.

You're starting to nail the problem down here, but I worry that you're still missing the point. We have 360 Communities here in Dakota County, Minnesota, to coordinate so many agencies. Yet I am still preparing to die soon from hunger and exposure despite being a sane, sober, well-educated and very hard-working (former) professional. I lost everything I owned by attrition while being bounced around from one agency to another shelter to yet another non-profit - all of whom proved worse than useless to the *competent* homeless. Meanwhile, the churches that formerly had dealt with this problem effectively have been liberalized into an apathetic, dysfunctional, ineffective servant of government. (Churches now merely refer me to govt. agencies, rather than helping directly). This is why the newly homeless become "the homeless", rather than simply going through a temporary setback in life.
Again, we need to focus on getting the newly homeless back into jobs and housing (not "shelter" - a HOME) as quickly as possible. Then identify the competent involuntarily homeless and do the same thing. What remains are the homeless people who are a bona fide "problem" - the mentally ill, drug addicts, lazy bums, etc. But most important of all, this needs to be removed from the government as much as possible. Rules, regulations, policies, procedures, bureaucracies, biometric shelter access, the tendency toward "nannyism", the weaponization of personal data, and forcing requirements onto *other* people is a recipe for disaster. The only people who can solve this problem must do so without concern for paperwork, next year's funding, or maintaining their own jobs - it needs to be done by people who simply do it without question, because it's the right thing to do. That was formerly the church's function, before religion was liberalized into utter nonsense.

Ok, so I was homeless for three years after my dad lost his job during the recession. Here’s what happens with homeless: for me, I left my dad, he moved to Georgia with a women. I stayed behind, but was not addicted to drugs. I had an eating disorder and I used alcohol to forget the disorder. I did not want to sleep on a mat on the ground next to stinky, drug abusing, bug infested thieves in a shelter. The ONLY reason to stay in a shelter was to get a shower in the morning. I slept behind a dumpster behind the Wendy’s that I worked at. A shelter means, long lines, sleeping next to strangers, bed bugs and scabies, waking up early (5am) and chores. It also means free food, showers, warmth, a pad to sleep on, and safety. You don’t always have the time to get to a shelter before they are full, and you don’t always have the transportation. I’m a nurse now. I ended up in a fishing cannery and made something of myself. Please understand that shelters are not what all homeless want to sleep in. It’s actually nicer in a tent

That’s easy. Consultants, management fees, administration fees, distribution coordinators, “private” IT contractors, third party audits, data gathering and processing, field managers, security, meetings and conferences in Chicago, New York and Paris, employee meal and vehicle reimbursement, and foremen, managers, superintendents and directors. Any questions?

2 problems rent is thru the roof in SF and on top of that you are allowing illegal immigrants in your city adding to the problem. Why not fix the homeless problem first before you let more people in from another country illegally.

They are still spending roughly 20K per homeless and sheltered individual. What a waste of resources. Someone is getting rich. It's time to declare a defeat in the war on poverty. Subsidizing this type of behavior just gets you more of this type of behavior. This country is getting stupider by the day.
