Yup, got lucky with the femoral artery, which runs along the bottom side of the backbone. Been there done that myself on a nice buck. If you're going to miss your mark it sure is a relief when you can see the instant massive hemorrhaging like that.

Great hunt. And nice buck. My dad and I have that same late season tag, "mid December " here in Nevada. Will that deer behavior in this video be the same for us on our hunt?

There might be some universal trends like bucks seeking out isolated hard to reach locations to recover from the rut but every location has its own nuances as to how deer behave. Scout hard, put on the miles and use your optics. Be patient in good areas and good luck!

Do you think there will be a decline in Deer numbers this next year in ND with how long this Cold snap has been?

    • @passionforthehunt3493

+vgilles406 we have our fingers crossed. The cold isn’t as bad as the snow from what we have seen.

Not sure you understood my comment. The continued use of the abundance of electronic equipment is starting to intrude on the essence of the bow hunt. Of course that is only my opinion. Who can read a map or use a compass anymore....Oh well who really cares anymore anyway.

+doug fries we hear ya as the world is changing. not many people can shoot a long bow at 2O yards either. That GPS with the Onyx however is worth its weight in gold when you are trying to figure out public land. There is now no excuse to ever be where you shouldn’t and the map gives you the name of the land owner. The peace of mind is nice.

This biologist guy is a joke. Sounds cool for the video but look up tag stats for 3f2 in ND. 1500 extra tags literally every year for mule deer and any doe tags. ND game and fish loves their mule deer, everything is about their mule deer!

dude...all that tech ad on gps and long distance range finder coupled together to increase your success????? Might as well just take the rifle and be done with it.

+doug fries not many rifle tags available but if you learn to archery hunt, there are way more opportunities
