  • The grind of an archery season. Bow hunting whitetails in North Dakota. A lot of scouting, several days in the tree or blind with some interesting encounters. Finally connect on a great buck in early December and actually shot the deer out of an old abandoned barn.
The old barn provided the perfect blind but we no know there is more work to be done to modify our shooting window. We had the buck at thirty yards and couldn’t shoot far enough to the right because of an old stall next to the window. The deer finally walked away and turned just enough to sneak in an arrow under the shoulder blade. A great and memorable hunt captured on video.

Watchout for those open blades before you release that arrow next time, could get ugly.

You are pulling too much weight. Your draw technique is horrible. Why haven’t you learned to proper way? To avoid destroying your shoulder. People are hung up on drawing that magic cure all 70+ lbs thinking this will kill anything. I have never drawn over 62 lbs and have no issues in killing bull elk and one big moose.

Ha I probably do all kinds of things wrong from a shooting form standpoint and would love to learn more. I just picked up a bow and started shooting it and fell in love with archery hunting.
