As a Colorado Native, archery mule deer on public land is a tough hunt. It’s not like sitting in a tree stand by a feeder all day. Challenging, yet fun.
Dude you might want to drop the guts if your going to leave it over night really helps with cooling the meat down for best table fare but great shot and beautiful country Loved the video
Just watched the video and took me back to hunting the same high country. I was born and raised in Colorado Springs. I currently live in northern Indiana, on the Indiana / Michigan line. I miss home and mountains every day. Great video and congrats on your buck.
Awesome! This year will be my first year hunting high elevation mule deer . I'm excited , it's going to be way different than the southern AZ desert that's for sure! Congrats !
Just curious in hindsight that first bomber you were bellowing at shouldn't you have closed the distance at that point if wind and noise was clearly a non factor? Great hunt though really enjoyed the video!!!
Yes possibly but he was totally confident in shooting the 50 60 yards and didnt want to blow it and not even get a shoot. But I guess it is a gamble either way to be honest. Try to get another 10 to 20 yards or wait him out and take a longer shoot with more factors to consider. Thank you for watching and liking it.
The deer was 66yds, and shot like 60, and I felt very confident with my 60yd pin. However I did not compensate for the wind current coming up the mountain, and shot over him. Looking back now I wish I would've tried closing the distance. The arrow might not have sailed on me 🤷🏼♂️ ...... Live and learn I guess..... Thanks for watching ....
with that wind.. kick off the boots and do the wool sock sneak to 30 yards and just wait... he will stand up at some point... then again, I may have done exactly what you did.
Congratulations on a great buck! I do have a question, was it just the angle of the camera or was that giant 2 point standing right behind the buck you shot? I see that you did have a complete pass through, so my question is, is it possible you could have stuck the 2 point behind your buck after the arrow passes through your buck? It's always tricky when they get batched up like that. Either way, congratulations on a very nice buck!
Thank you.....The 2 point was at the rear of the buck I shot from my angle (shooter) I know from the camera angle it look directly behind, but it wasn't. My arrow actually went behind that rock that was in view if that helps to tell how different our angles were.
Am I the only one who is questioning this guys knowledge of hunting/bow hunting after watching?! First shot was horrible but that happens, then the second one he shoots with two deer directly behind it(surprised he even hit it seeing that white knuckle grip he had on his bow), then to top it off apparently leaves it overnight without even gutting it.. what a joke.
Angles can make a big difference I believe he wasn’t at the same angle as the camera and he hammered the one he wanted so my only complaint is leaving the guts overnight really should have not stopped tell the deer was at the truck.
Can't help it, we owe it to those enamored by this video. - Albeit gorgeous, this is roughly 500 yards off of a well traveled famous highway. These dudes drove ALL the way up that 13000' elevation and glassed those deer from a pull off at the top. I assure you this was not as "grueling" as it appears.
Im thinking he meant no roads to where he shot at the big one. You can see 100 vehicles in the background when they go to pack out the one that he got, that must be the highway you're talking about. Awesome getting a muley with the bow though, very impressive
@@garyhillsten3025 I dont have to I talked to them about that and on laws about flying drone before season and how long we had before hunting witch is 48 hrs just fyi. Plus it is right on the Cpw page you can look it up.
that was not an ethical shot... there was a deer directly behind the target buck, there was a high probability of injuring or killing multiple deer. Not cool.

Just came across you guys looking for archery deer hunts. Thanks for a great video!
Congratulations on the buck and well done on the production. Looks like fun!
Thank you. it was fun filming it all and putting it together was fun as well.
Thank you, alot of fun! Also some crazy hiking and alot of heavy breathing..... Lol.....takes a while to catch your breath out there

Best of luck to you!
@@TeamRadical thank you , good luck this fall !
You must have the quietest feet on this planet to come up in open county like that. Incredible job!
Ninja level 10 🤣.
Great video! Been in that unit on an elk hunt! Congratulations on your deer!
Yep and plan on going again really soon might have enough points for next year to draw.
Guessing no one would say what unit that is. Not the area just the unit. I'd love to mule deer hunt in Colorado some day....
Thank you....... I hear unit 48 is a pretty good draw
Was this 48 or by it?
Any body see the guy in the back stop and floss
Yeah 😂 I can't take him anywhere
Excellent job 👊🏻

Dream hunt
Good job
Are those thunderhead broad heads?
G5 montec
Great shot ans vid! Curious, what monopod was that you guys were using for your camera? Thanks
It was the Coman monopod.
Thank you

Wow
Proof that not all the nicest hunting gear will make you a good hunter lol
What if you have miss and wounded deers behind him

All the better
Negative ghost rider, no roads to the top. Took us all day to get a shot at the bigger buck

How many points did it take for this hunt
1-2 points for this area
shoot if you can beerrhh all that noise might as well get closer on him
Death gripping that bow.
Please take that arrow off your bow. Makes me so nervous.
Great video please remove the music
Could have been a 2 for one on that one ..
Not really big angle dif between me and the shooter you can see how much from the go pro clip on his bow and me filming plus the angle of the Mtn.

It's always hard to tell in a video the steepness ...
Deffinatly a bit steep with the grass skiing going on
@@KennysCrap Ya for sure lol
The deer behind the one I shot was actually by the hind quarter from my angle (shooter)
Well, that meat is no good!
Trail cams are not legal in colo
Trail cameras are legal you just can not use ones that say hook to the internet and do live stream and what not.
@@mikehorchner4972 you might call game and fish on that
@@garyhillsten3025 I dont have to I talked to them about that and on laws about flying drone before season and how long we had before hunting witch is 48 hrs just fyi. Plus it is right on the Cpw page you can look it up.
Mike is correct. Game cams are perfectly legal you just have to hike in to check them. Cant be hooked up to the interwebs in any way whatsoever.
Trail cameras are definitely legal but electronics (the video cam on his bow)on your bow is illegal.
Questionable ethical hunting practices for sure
