    Can't imagine the real challenge in a bow in country like this. For me a rifle hunt would be 100times easier, but I'm an old old bowhunter and can appreciate what it would take. And if you're into only taking super bucks that adds a ton of pressure. Out of context maybe, but I've learned one of the best type shoes for that final stalk in is those soft flexible slip on rubber swim or deck shoes?

    No way you should be taking 70 yard shots at ANY animal with a bow!! Too much time for them to move and bad things to happen. It’s ARCHERY hunting, the whole goal is to get close! I’ve killed numerous elk, deer, turkeys, caribou and turkeys with my bow over the years. The farthest shot I’ve ever taken is 27 yards. I’ll practice shooting my bow out to 100 yards because it helps your form, but I’ll NEVER shoot at an animal past 40 yards! You may have found the deer but that doesn’t make a 70 yard shot right! That’s what’s wrong with too many Bowhunter’s these days. They think just because you’re capable of shooting long ranges at the archery range that you should do it while hunting. I passed up a 165” mule deer last year here in AZ at 42 yards. I know how big the buck was because a friend of mine shot him later in the season.

    • @TheMountainProject
      @TheMountainProject  3 роки тому +1

      Ok glen that’s your opinion, 40 yards is all huh, I practice and ya stuff happens when you hunt, you know same thing can happen at 40 or 27. Don’t classify bow hunters as being wrong for shooting over your comfortable distance. You practice at 100 and only shoot 40, that’s you. Equipment these days works just fine out further. I take it you never wound or lose animals? I stuck to it and found him, ya not the way I wanted it but that’s hunting. 2 yards kept you from shooting a deer, I don’t believe you. Good luck

    • @glend4704
      @glend4704 3 роки тому

      @@TheMountainProject believe what you want !!! But 40 is 40!! I don’t care if modern bows can shoot 200 yards accurately, any shot over 40 is WRONG. If you’re doing to take long shots break out the 300 mag

    • @glend4704
      @glend4704 3 роки тому

      @@TheMountainProject it’s called ethics and morals when it comes to keeping shots ethical with a bow!! And yeah, every animal I’ve shot at with my bow had been killed quickly amd humanely. If you’re in doubt you don’t take the shot!! It’s pretty F-in simple

    • @TheMountainProject
      @TheMountainProject  3 роки тому +3

      I get your point but it’s your opinion and your ethics, not the worlds. I have had Javelina jump the string at 20 yards, so don’t preach to me that nothing can happen under 40 yards. Best of luck to you but enough beating bow hunters up over a 70 yard shot.
