I’m planning a large full four foot wide staircase that will be controlled up and down using a jib crane configuration. The jib crane will double as a loft lift. I need to design an automatic locking mechanism but user friendly safe with a redundant locking backup for safety. I also want to incorporate a strong handrail that will freely travel with the retracting staircase. Building a mezzanine at this present time and looking for ideas. I would be pleased to share my design as well.

Great idea with the counter weight being the hole cover. Do you have a close up of the hinge you used for the top of the stairs?

Oui j ai des plans mon garage fait 24x28 par 9"6' de haut
