Thanks for getting Baron to the vet to have that cancer removed. It was very evident that it was causing him trouble urinating. Hoping for a quick recovery and no more problems down there. I watch some videos of horse rescue groups saving draft horses from slaughter houses. None of your horses will ever have to worry about that happening to them. I wish every horse owner took the care and love that you both give your horses. God bless and keep safe Jim and Brenda love all of your hard work to share these videos with us.

Yes. I didn’t know the sliver was in my little finger. It was a stiff, plant fiber. Four months later it festered. I pinched it and it popped out. It was 1/4inch long. Unbelievable.

Jim and Brenda are very fortunate to live so close to Equine Vet who did an excellent procedure to resolve Baron's Issue . When I observed the volume of urine that Baron expelled . I knew the surgery had resolved the problem. Jim is such a great horseman and i know he'll watch out for any signs of infection in Baron with the assistance of Nurse Brenda.

it's not a bad practice, it might be kind of atypical though. Duke and Earl didn't need gauze. As someone mentioned, maybe because Baron has bred mares as well as had his sperm frozen, the vessels down there were probably thicker with a rich blood supply. I expected the bleeding problems, tbh.

Gute Besserung❣

Very glad that it's no worse than that, but troubling that the full brothers have both had it. Given what we are finding out about the effects of ivermectin on both viruses and parasites, and the connections coming out among viruses, parasites and cancer, I'm wondering if it wouldn't be useful to load both of these boys up with it for a little while? When we saw the headline of this video, the whole family dropped everything to watch it right then. We all really love Baron.

Sweet, sweet Baron, I'm so sad this happened. Bless his heart, it must have affected how much urine output he did too. After removing the tumor/growth, he peed gallons! That must have been immediate relief to fully empty his bladder. I'm surprised the vet didn't give him a shot of antibiotics just to ward off infection at incision site as well as to help if he by chance has a UTI from not emptying his bladder well. Poor Baron! I can empathize because I had several surgeries to repair wounds I had from the Army and then later to remove some benign tumors. Not fun!

Hi Jim and Brenda. Was sorry to hear about Baron and the sarcoid but good that you caught it in time. As I have mentioned to you before, I have a Belgian Draft cross, Bruno, here in the U.K. In 2022 when he was 8 years old and I had owned him for just 2.5 years, we realised he had developed around 11 tiny sarcoids on his bits and his ‘armpits’. Vet advice was to deal with them as soon as possible, so we had them lasered at a nearby vet hospital. It was a lot of work and his recovery was not helped by the fact that he had colic which required surgery just 6 weeks later - this could have been related to the stress of recovering from the laser. Here in the U.K. we are also told that sarcoids can come from bites from flies that have been in cattle I was advised that although it’s difficult to know how to take preventative measures for horses that are susceptible to sarcoids, there is value in boosting the immune system to help the horse deal with any fly bite so I am feeding a supplement for that (Radiance Gold) . Also, Bruno has antiseptic fly repellent all over his bits all through the summer (it’s bright yellow here sadly!). If you would like to know any more about Bruno’s experience let me know. Fingers crossed for Baron. X

Yes. Lt knee last year. Got something in it. Wet jeans, crab pots on the deck on the boat, knee infected with MRSA,. Feb 8 my knee implant cut out, disk installed, antibiotics by PICC for 6 weeks. After the infection is cured a new implant will be installed. May 9th timeframe I hope.

Really good video, your vet did a terrific job of explaining the entire process she was doing, including the dissection. I’m glad she is so willing, along with her tech, to let you record the appt. I’m glad that Baron is healed. I found the vet commenting that he could have developed scar tissue that could have been what caused the urinary issue. That you observed he was having a problem that ended up leading to tumor, was great observation. Thank you for sharing the entire experience.
