Oh my goodness Liz!!!! I had no idea that you were Latvian too! We have so much in common! 🥰That truly makes my day, thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video! -Lizzy
I’m American-Latvian. I have lived in the US for 21 years, and only lived in Latvia for 6. Mother is Latvian, father is from the US. Hope that makes sense 🥰 all of my moms family still lives in Latvia
Unfortunately my entire family was murdered by the Germans and I imagine that the Russians under Stalin completed the extermination of those the Germans might have missed. My parents, with me in tow, left in time but Riga will always be there, with its sights and of course smells (an icy winter day with a hint of wood smoke in the air), summers in Meluzi and late summers with the scent of the first mushrooms in the woods..."Geilings" under the moss and someone "smoking" a salmon over a wood fire on the beach...the sight of poppies flopping in the early summer breeze along with Queen Anne's lace in a field near the railroad tracks as one arrives from Riga for the countryside...a lifetime of memories.

Oh damn... :/
I just did Estonia and Latvia... definitely Latvia over Estonia. I think the rudest and coldest people are Estonians, but Latvians are little better.
