Also, you can re-train your character as soon as you are done with the prologue, from race to class, so if you feel you chose wrong or want to try new classes, you aren't stuck as that class. I wish i had realized this before i started over like 6 times lol

first u have to Enable Character Retrain on the dificulty options second u have to reach Defender’s Rest(u reach defenders rest in like 4 to 6 hours of gameplay after completing the shield maze)from there look for hilor(its close to irabeth) and select the option i need training, the first reroll its free

I used a Melee/Sorcerer build in Pathfinder Kingmaker on Unfair it wasn't too difficult once you got out of chapter one. InEffect has a similar build up that's made just for Lich mythic path because Lich is the only path that expands the sorcerer spellbook. It's as follows:
    Role: Melee Sorcerer
    Race: Human
    Deity: Abadar/Urgathoa
    Alignment: Lawful Good†
Skills: Mobility 3, Arcana 5††, Persuasion, Athletics
Bloodline: Acid Dragon (Green, Black, or Copper)†††
† Any lawful will do, but you will miss out on bestow grace if you are not Lawful Good. Lawful Evil is more roleplaying-appropriate, though.
†† Make sure you have this 5 by the time you are Level 5.
††† Can be of any Draconic bloodline, but the small amount of resistance you get from it is most beneficial as acid. We don’t care about the spell damage part.
    Stats
STR DEX CON INT WI CHA
    18 > 22 15 > 16 (L4) 12 7 10 16

† Pick whatever weapon you fancy. Staves will get an extra attack from Flurry, but it’s up to preference. I use falchion because the threat range is way too good to pass up.
    †† Or Arcane Strike.
    Spells
1 Magic Weapon, Shield, Mage Armor (Bloodline), Magic Missile, True Strike, Vanish

6 Bone Shield, Transformation, Heroism (G), Dispel Magic (G), False Grace, Siphon Life
7 Blessing of Unlife, Waves of Exhaustion, Legendary Proportions, Feast of Blood
8 Frightful Aspect, Seamantle, Protection from Spells
9 Mind Blank (C), Corrupt Magic, Foresight, Energy Drain
    Lich Mythic Path
    Level Feat
    3 Indestructible Bones // Skeletal Marksman†
    4 Skeletal Bard††
    6 Tainted Sneak Attack
    9 Fear Control
† Reasoning is simple: first, undead can’t be enlarged (at least not easily). Second, the melee line will already be quite packed in most parties already. Since his STR is +0, toss him a heavy crossbow and an amulet from the Heart of Stone in Wintersun.
†† 30 rounds of free Dirge and some spells is great. Skeleton Wisdom and INT are weak so it wouldn’t even be able to cast Cleric, Inquisitor, or Magus spells.
Regardless of what focus you pick, go with the staff until Level 11.
Start Lawful Good (LG), make every evil decision under the sun to roleplay the Lich thing, and use an Atonement Scroll if you ever want to use Divine Grace. Background doesn’t really matter.
Does somewhere around 400-500 damage per round (DPR) by teens, not counting Attacks of Opportunity (AoO).

Witch Classes are the best depends a lot on if you play in real-time with pause, or on turn based. So i have some different views on what are the best classes, since i tend to play on both modes depending on the encounter.
The best Martial classes, Aka the guys with weapons, i would recommend: Bloodrager (A Barbarian but better), Magus (can handle a lot of things), Slayer and Rouge as a flanking buddy.
The best archers, aka the guys with ranged physical damage: Ranger and Fighter. they both do the same thing, the Fighter gets more feats and is a lot straight forward, the Ranger gets a lot of uniqe spells to buff himself with to make up the difference, Ranger is best in Turn based, while Fighter is best Real time. Shoutout to Kineticist with Physical damage.
The best arcane blaster: Sorcerer and Kineticist. Both has a lot of fuel, sorcerer is better for utility and has a bloodline that increases damage (+animal companion with Sylvian sorc), Kineticist never run out of juice and are in general the best damage dealer.
The best Healer/Support: on harder difficulties healing in combat is a waste, but out of combat you can get someone who has Channel energy, typical Clerics and Oracles. But as support a Mystic Theurge if you know how to build one is without a doubt the best support, You can go with Wizard/Cleric to get a faster Mystic Theurge, but a worse ability score build, or Oracle/Sorcerer to scale off Charisma, Get enduring spell and you can have all the buffs on all of your party for the whole day, then let him sit in the back and look at the fight from afar. At higher difficulties Its much better to negate damage then to heal it, a Communal Stone skin in an average party negates almost 1000 damage, witch equals a heal of 1000hp, and a blur on all of the party negates 20% of the damage taken, witch gets better the longer you play. A Mystic Theurge will never be as strong as a Wizard or an Cleric, but he will have the utility and support ability of both of them, an Alternative is to split the buffs among multiple party members and make them a little less DPS focused at the cost of some support, depending on your composission this might be worse or better, up to you.
And Shoutout to Bard, don't build them just for support, but their bardic performance is a relatively uniqe source of attack and damage, so if you don't have anywhere else you get it from, its a worthy addition.
And the best Tanks: Bloodragers, Paladins and Monks. You can get an animal companion from Bloodragers and Paladins, so they make great mounted units, and Monks can reach the highest Touch AC in the game if you build them right, at higher difficulties having a unit that just wont die gives you a lot of breathing room and let you do your thing.
And last off, if you are new and playing on Normal, do what you want, play the build you think looks cool and don't bother trying to minmax, Character builds in this game matter more then the class themselves, if you want a god healer sorcerer you can make it, if you want a front line tank wizard, you can do that, remember, this is a game and play in a way you find fun.

What we really need (or at least I do) is a guide on Mythic Paths, and what classes/subclasses leans most into which one.

One other major aspect I’d like to see addressed is what classes/character types mesh well with available NPC companions. I know there’s a variety available here, but it can be frustrating to settle on a character type only to find a recruitable npc fills exactly the same role in a game like this.

There's really nothing wrong with multiple characters "filling the same role" in this game though. It doesnt make anybody useless, or just means you have extra of that "resource". Plus, doubling up, unless you are doing an undersized party, is basically guaranteed to happen. Big stupid fighter, arcane caster, divine caster, skill monkey are the traditional roles for D&D and Pathfinder. Notice how thats 4 roles and there are 6 slots...
Why would you not want extra healing, extra damage, extra control, extra buffs, etc?

same thing that applies in the RPG game applies in WoTR. Have a concept first, THEN go through character creation. It took me 5-10 minutes to make my first charcater mainly because I already had a concept in mind (and have played the RPG for 5 years now).
I wanted to Tranform into a dragon, so I went sorcerer with ok strength, ok dex and high charsima. 6 levels in sorcerer, 4 levels in dragon disiple.
and now my STR is 28 at level 10 (items, stat changes and DD), which makes me the strongest member in my party by far (also, most of them use dex anyway...).
      Spoiler:
      .
      .
      .
I discovered that a mythic path transforms you into a dragon anyway... so so much for my build... well, I'm now open to stay with Ainu, best girl!

Good points here. Even though i'm a veteran PnP player, and CRP- player since the first Baldur's Gate, the sheer number of classes and archetypes they implemented here is staggering. Caught me completely off guard. This is truly an upgrade from Kingmaker, which was already one of my favorite CRPGs of the last several years. In this day and age, when most sequels offer less then the originals, this is a welcome if somewhat intimidating feature. I can only imagine how first times must feel. Fortunately for me, this time around, i already knew what classes i won't play (the ones is usually do), so that narrowed my character creation to only 4 hours! :D

This is very helpful and adds value. I dunno.... Here's a few things to consider about multiclassing and or class splitting. I learned long ago that trying to be good at multiple things often translates into being good at none of them. For example I don't get the value in a 50/50 ranged attacker who can also serve in melee. Either you're a tank or not and your tanks will serve you WELL. Be mindful that ranged attackers can easily be interrupted when in the wrong place and or too close. To me, your best bet is in focusing on your skills and abilities within simpler classes that serve key core roles within your party- mage for mega damage, priest for healing/resurrection, thief for perception, trap disarming, locking picking, etc, tanks to absorb the brunt and draw powerful enemies toward them, and on and on.... For example you can develop a couple of core competencies within each class that will serve you specifically- i.e. a ranged attack for something like a Barbarian. In POE I used to put the Barbarian directly in front of my Mage when I noticed the enemy had powerful ranged attacks but primarily used as a tank. You'll get to 80-90% of what the exotic classes claim to address just by good skills and abilities mgmt without having to guess and or manage one more thing, coupled with using the terrain to your advantage in every battle.

Alchemist bombs are one of the best abilities in the game (powerful aoe damage with a ton of powerful special effects when you get special bombs) and preservationist can summon creatures without really sacrificing anything important, they also do level 9 summons even when their spell slots go only up to level 6 at max level. @SmashStomp Inc Simpler dragon is go sorc or wizard but give your caster some str and con. You can use so many buffs n spells means you have n dragon whose spells are almost impossible to resist. (Creatures are dead before you need to get into combat). Its a bit of an uber class really.
(You can mix with other classes but still very solid as pure maybe harder diffs you might need more ac etc)

    • @MauriceTarantulas
      @MauriceTarantulas 3 роки тому

@SmashStomp Inc Its not meant as a front line tank thats what you main tank is for and with buffs you can still hit ok. Its your main caster just beefier as you are in dragon form. (You want extend spell and spell penetration etc)
I used a Sorc prev game and worked just fine. You use spells to incapacitate before entering combat...if you enemy is stunned etc then doesnt matter if your bab is low. You can also use fire shield and touch spells...(touch Ac easier to hit a lot of mobs)
Again harder diffs maybe not viable. (As in higher resists so yeah a Higher Ac dragon might be better).
Oh and you will get the dragon form quicker as pure caster so enemies will be lower level anyways.
P.s If you want to be melee and front line sure there are better ways to do the dragon. But you wont get as many spells!
Put another way no reason for your caster not to be in dragon form. Am pretty sure you can cast any of your spells😜

One of the issues I had with kingmaker was that while it was fun to plan out a build, you didn't really get to see a lot of the high level stuff until the game was mostly over. If you run two Divine Guardian Paladins, each of them will get an ability at level 2 called Divine Troth. Have them cast it on each other and as long as they're tanking next to each other they can give the other tank +4 bonus to AC. Couple that with Divine Grace, which adds your charisma bonus to your saving throws, all the immunities Paladins get at the extra defensive perks in the Divine Guardian class progression, they're almost indestructible. If you go Aasimar you can take the Wings perk after level 10 which adds even more to your AC.
I know that you're giving up a slot for an extra tank, but it's so worth it when inevitability the game throws enemies at you from behind or to intercept the enemy that ignores your tank and is heading for your squishy healer or DPS.
The only downside is that you lose access to Paladin spellcasting, but honestly Paladin spells aren't anything that a Cleric can't do better. You still get positive energy channeling, lay on hands and Divine Weapon Bond/Mount.
But here's the real kicker. If you make your main character one of those Divine Guardians and take the Angel mythic path, you'll get spellcasting with some actual good spells.

If you're just looking for the strongest class that would be arcanist. Objectively Spellcasters are simply stronger than any martial class and at every even level arcanist outclasses all other Spellcaster classes in terms of magical might thanks to the exploits. And the reason for not just being best at all levels is because other prepared casters are better at uneven levels due to having higher level spell slots.
Now since this is a videogame it ofc has million combat encounters scattered around every map so I personally decided to play a wind mystery oracle instead because just like clerics they're good in melee and for the first 8 levels you're actually concerned with running out of spell slots. Also when they do start spamming spells they can just spend all their slots on stuff like call lightning storm etc rather than just having one domain slot per level for non-cleric spells.
Basically I picked convenience of not struggling in the early game and still being strong in the late game over being strongest thing out there. Also I like being able to actually wield some of those cool magic weapons you find.
Play whatever you think is most fun,but if you want your player character to be the strongest in the group you're gonna want to either have access to 9th level spells or play a kineticist with both air and water elements. Not even kidding, with certain combos those take everything to stunlock city.

If you pick cold/fire they are still super resistant to that. If you dont understand and plan out which aoe blasts you use lategame kineticist is terrible. @@WhirlwindHeatAndFlash I dont know why you are saying "No" exactly. The gameplay of a kineticist is very straightforward. You dont need to manage resources carefully, and they are straightforward to use.
Sure, you can gimp yourself if you pick abilities the enemy is immune to, but if you go earth, air or water, there's no issue. A sorcerer who specialises in the wrong element would have similar issues.
Also, you aren't a much worse wizard even if you just go for AOE. The damage output of cloud and deadly earth is completely unrivalled by any other class in terms of AOE, and you can spam these abilities indefinitely. You have less versatility in most cases (though you can spec to heal, haste and trip infusion is godly CC), but you are much better at what you do do, particularly if resting restrictions are in any way significant.
