Thanks for the shout out Paul. Im glad you were able to try out the pedal. I guess you are right, there is nothing better than a straight run from guitar to amp for pure guitar tone, but it definitely makes playing the single coils at volume a heck of a lot more tolerable. When the HD is switched off, it is true bypass. So it shouldn't effect your tone at all if you leave it in the loop. Love your playing as always. Thanks again. Have a great day.
Thanks for watching the vid Jethlin - a vid that would never have happened if it were not for your recommendation. Overall, I’m a happy bunny, and the pedal will now stay in my arsenal 🍻
Beautiful playing Paul! And that hum debugger really seems to do the trick! I’ll have to look into getting one as I too have many P90 guitars that definitely have that 60 cycle hum! Thanks for the demo and gorgeous playing!
"Humdy Bugger" sounds like something one of my elderly relatives from Bo'ness would call someone who was too big for their boots ;). But that pedal is doing a great job. I've never been really happy with noise gates as they seem to just cut off too quickly, but that works. Great playing too, enjoyed that.
Beautiful playing as usual Paul. I have an issue with my Hum Debugger and I'm curious if you have had this happen. Electro Harmonix didn't respond to my email. After a while of not being used I hit the button and I get a horrible and very loud static sound. It's almost as if the unit has been storing all the static and wants to dump it. It resolves by unplugging and plugging back in. It's quite annoying as it happens regularly and I'm curious if I got a bad unit or if they all do this. Aside from that I do find it effective at getting rid of unwanted noise and the slight difference in tone I find pretty subtle and a fair trade.
Do you use any sort of power conditioner? The static sounds like mains power issues. If your house is older it might be good to run a whole sub panel with new wiring and outlets if that's in your wheelhouse. On top of that a conditioner and Brown Box type voltage regulator might do you well. Clean power is awesome. I've been contemplating an actual regenerator for all my electronics, though that route is pretty pricey.
You make good points Mooseymoose. I often wonder if the power in my house is a little dirty. And how many valve amps I’ve criticised when it might be my own home wiring that’s to blame!
The humdebugger is very reliant on where it is placed, not good before overdrives. It can produce some digital artifacts, if you can, try it in the efx loop. FWIW

Thanks Paul. Great video. Wonderful playing. 😊
Thank you Mjkelly 🍻
thanks again , you always provide helpful tips
Tasty playing as per usual Paul. Keep the videos coming.
Cheers Paul
Thank you Paul for another JEM of a video to cheer me up and inspire me on a Sunday morning. Best wishes as always from Glasgow 👍🎸❤️
My pleasure, thank you Frank 🍻
Very cool tool and I agree it really isn’t affecting the tone negatively in any way! Great playing!
Thanks Shroomer 🍻

Thanks estenray 🍻
This piece is a delight.
Thank you John, I’m delighted you liked it. 👍
With the pedal on it sounds like an old dusty record with the crackels. I quite like that sound, never knew this pedal existed.
Yes, exactly! And upon reflection, I think I actually quite like it too! Very authentic and lo-fi. Cheers for watching 🍻

Thanks for tuning in Graeme. Yeah, I think I prefer “Humdy Bugger”. EHX obviously missed a trick 🤣
Cool pedal! I use a simple EQ pedal to dial out the hum from P90s or single coils..
The Gibson Mini-Humbucker from the Deluxe LP series fits in a P90 routing...

Very intriguing….. hmmm, I’ve not had it happen to me yet, but at least now you’ve given me the temporary cure when it does! Cheers David

should've called it the Daft Bugger
🤣, I like it.
