Just bought the RJM after watching this! Now gotta figure out how to program it to do all of that awesomeness! Loved the way you used it to navigate the specific bpms and the strymons! Very cool
Love seeing the Lauren Audio Mustang v2 on your board and how you’re using it. I got my first one almost 4 years ago and tend to run it in very much the same way. Such a great sounding and unique pedal! Fantastic video overall!!!
As much as I like your little rig vid, there are 3 things I feel like adding to the general equation: - Your pedals are almost exclusively very old. There are newer, more exciting pedals out there, e.g. the last UA stuff, which are more inspiring for me, and many other guitar players than, let's say, the old strymons. Even that brand has a new BlueSky pedal out, which is like a 2 pedals in 1, since it is dual engine, very much worth checking out - I can see you use Marshall as your main amp for this demo. Marshall amps are known to sound their best when cranked up, t.m. when the tubes are literally boiling. Their clean tones are, to say it midly, thin and mediocre. I would suggest , with such a huge arsenal of amps behind you, to choose some other amp more suitable for P&W, e.g. a Matchless - Last but not least, you guys at Bethel have SO MANY OPTIONS at your disposal, I really don't understand the pricing of your course. Most of the players watching this would be struggling to put together a 1,000 USD to buy a decent guitar and a small rig. With your course price tag, you're pretty much making it impossible for these guys to afford it - despite what you yourself have said in the intro that the course is for those who have a $300 rig (which is a total nonsense, judging by the course pricing) All in all , I would suggest, with that much arsenal of options and funding you guys have over there, to be a little bit more modest, and set your pricing much, much lower for the real (and many times poor) talented guitar beginners to be able to afford it 😢😊❤ Peace out! -
What I’ve loved is two specific things. The dynamic punch is pretty incredible. When you dig in, it punches back. And when it’s mixed in the end by a good engineer, they can draw out more top end content since it’s not super fizzy and textured at all times.
It's interesting that you went with Strymon delay and reverb, after your video on LVX and MercuryX where you sort of sounded like meris was much more versatile option. Confusing.
The output is necessary primarily to send my signal over XLR (or cat5 in this case) to amps that are a long distance away in another room. That being said, the output box does still have a positive impact on my tone. But the Bigsky output buffer is definitely a net neutral tone. It would suffice if you’re mostly just going quarter inch out.
I just got the new Keeley Octa Psy. Really helpful to be able to use the octave independently. The fuzz side is also great for textured swells. I run mine at 18 volts to keep the sustain but just add a little more clarity.
There’s some commands in there controller that you can program to change BPM by either a specific BPM or also nudge it +1 or -1. I have a page devoted to this. I’m considering making some material in the future the breaks that down
@@KenyonReed2Thanks so much for this! I setup a page on my mastermind 10x just like yours. Appreciate yours and the Tone Factor content! Don’t know if you remember but we met in Birmingham, AL on Bethel’s previous tour
I have in order of signal of drives: steel string mk2, benson preamp, lightspeed, and thinking of adding the benson germanium boost as my final gain stage. Would it give me that 3rd stage drive sound or no?
Kinda interesting you posted your "old" board on here Kenyon. But I guess this whole project has taken such a long time to develop that you've had time changing out a bunch of stuff. Because you haven't just changed drives. Pretty much the whole wet section is totally different :)

A couple of corrections for you. I’m not using a Marshall. I’m using a JMI 30/6 and a Fender Prosonic in this video. To say most of my pedals are old is a bit of an overstatement considering there’s plenty of new pedals on the board. But to your point highlighting the strymons, yes those are older. A testament to the long shelf life Strymon managed to pull off. Although we recorded these videos a few months ago even though they just released, I recently swapped over to Meris reverb and delay and have been loving it. You can find those videos on my channel. Ad far as some of the other drives that are older, sometimes older stuff is really good. A bit odd to me to nitpick someone’s choice for older equipment when it can have something special. In general there’s quite a balanced ratio of old and new on my board supporting both newer and modern companies ingenuity as well leaning in to strengths of older equipment and not being stuck in gear acquisition syndrome for only new things. The pricing of the course reflects a few things. About 4-6 months of work (amidst traveling), 30 hours of focused material compiling two different guitar players experience of 10-15 years. They only need to be bought once and you have them forever, we’re not doing the chasing subscription thing with these. Considering what it would cost independently for David and I to give 30 hours worth of 1 hour lessons would be wildly more expensive. While I appreciate what you’re saying about being conscious of the pricing, we were. It would cost a minimum of $1500 for 30 hours worth of one on one lessons from just one of us and that’s on the lower side. They then have the responsibility of retaining all of that information with never being able to recall it and hear it again. So to reduce our efforts by calling it not worth it is a bit offensive for a lot of work put in to something that a lot of people would find value in. I know you haven’t given it that full thought, otherwise you would have mentioned those realities. That being said, they can always save up and buy them individually. And for those who are able can get the bundle for less are effectively getting one of the three for free.
Thx for answering. Hey, no offence, but my main point was you have positioned your course to a customer that has (according to your own sales pitch) a $300 rig. Your course is $700 something after discount... That's totally out of touch with reality - if I had a $300 rig, I would most definitely not pay for your course, teachnig me how to combine gear worth thousands of dollars - but save a few more bucks and buy a decent guitar or pedal for myself. There is a plethora of rig rundowns and even tutorials out there for free, many of them touch upon ambient music, which totally applies to Praise & Worship. That's my main point. The other observations are of much lesser importance, but your market positioning was a frustrating fact to observe, really. Otherwise, I like what you're doing here, and also I think the course itself definitely has value to it. Just maybe (if I can suggest) do a little giveaway once in a while of the course for free for really poor players out there.... Or change your market positioning to target players with rig value $1,000 or more. Cause that's about appropriate given the course pricing. No hard feelings. Peace out 😂❤😅

Do you only use an input buffer? Is an output buffer not necessary because the BigSky is last in your chain?
The output is necessary primarily to send my signal over XLR (or cat5 in this case) to amps that are a long distance away in another room.

All flat at the moment. The places it EQs on its own is just so nice.
