Wonderful & informational video! My husband & I are in Seoul right now & planning to take the 1st class KTX to Busan next week. I love how you included the story of the seat mistake. I can imagine it happening to me. 😂
Great video Ryan! I was thinking how average the first class was until you finally got the push into the correct cabin. These remind me of the Chinese rail system in a way... fast and convenient, as you said, great way to avoid the airport ques and security time.
18:43 the night before our 1st class trip to Busan, huge sigh of relief when we heard “You, NO! Me, YES!” Laughing so much! Good tip on the egg mayo sandwiches too! Thanks for the video! Off to Japan, then back to Perth.
Haha! Glad I could entertain! Enjoy the KTX, I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Just before the tracks, there are actually stalls selling bento boxes. So if you'd like something more substantial than Paris Croissant, consider the latter instead! I would've done that if I knew. Enjoy your trip!
Thanks for the new video Ryan. It's great to hear the gentleman was nice about it. High speed rail in Australia, won't happen in our generation. They have been talking about it for at least 40 years now. Successive governments trying to make the Guinea Pig book of records for procrastination. Hmmm, Train to Busan .... I guess Liza with Z has a different meaning in this context. Step 1, step 2 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Not just Korea, but most countries in Asia could teach Australia how to do infrastructure well. Our country is just embarrassing with our 3rd world airports, public transport and rail network.
OMG OMG OMG all I'm seeing is "Train to Busan". Best Zombie movie ever made. OK, don't hate me, but I think I love train videos more than planes these days. When I went on the shinkansen in Japan, I used to love their bento boxes at the train stations. Wish we had those here in Aus. OMG only you can sit in the wrong seat and wrong car and wrong cabin type! HAHA Actual real first class looks SO much better. I do love a good egg mayo sanga. No toasted cheese sandwich for you? ;-) hehe The snack packs are cute. The train is Korea is seriously so much smoother and quieter than the KTM trains in Malaysia. I'll be travelling on the Eurostar and Caledonian Sleeper in France and UK soon and I know for a fact that they are no way as smooth and your experience. Brilliant video, Ryan!
You know, I saw bento boxes at Seoul Station too, just before the tracks. But I read somewhere having a full meal like that on the train is discouraged, and even frowned upon. Otherwise I would've gotten myself one. When we pulled into Daejeon, I almost fell off my seat because I immediately recognised the station. In my mind, I was jumping up and down going "OMG TRAIN TO BUSAN TRAIN TO BUSAN!!!!!"... I have several train trips planned in Italy, I think with that it will just confirm how sad our Aussie trains are. Hahaha... Looking forward to YOUR train videos!
@@ryansofly No, why bother when the video is factually incorrect? And if he switched later, he needs to say so earlier in the video. Just common sense.
@@ryansofly would recommend buying letsKorail pass or check our their official website before your trip, it is much cheaper :) We can book tickets from their official website and it's in english, i usually get their korail pass and book tickets in there and make sure to read up about their cars before booking my seats :)

Nice vlog. Ryan, I have a question...which is the better Oneworld lounge in Changi in term of hot food selection and seating comfort? British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and SATS Premier? You might be the better person to ask as you might have already checked out all these lounges in Changi.
Let's see... QF best for food but can get crowded. BA good seating but food not as good as QF. CX, I've never been. SATS , I avoid. Great seating, but when I found frozen dumplings were being served, nah.
@@linustw that's because QF Lounge in Singapore (and I think HK) is managed by Sofitel. The entire airline scene in AUSTRALIA is just embarrassing, and I can't believe people gush about the S&P squid at the First Class Lounge. Give me the Changi lounge catering anyday.
Seoul is much like Hk where high numbers of population congregated in one city, rendered the rest of country rarely occupied. Abt 50% of population (out of 50mil ppl) live in greater soul. This indirectly push up real estate prices and high pressure living condition.
Great video, this looks awesome! I really want to try a high speed train in that corner of the world!
Omg you should! XPT does not even register! Lol...
Love all your videos.
Thanks man!
I wish I’d been on the Live! Great video 👍
Thanks for popping by!

I can't wait to try the Chinese trains! Especially between Beijing and Shanghai.

Nah, the economics of Australia's small population scattered amongst wide distances doesn't bode well.
Australia def needs a fast traiN like that. A money spinner if they did it.
As much as I'd like to see one in Australia, ain't gonna happen.
Australia needs to learn how to actually have a good high speed train network
I know right? Meanwhile, we can't even get the Melbourne airport train link up and working properly.
16:25 Australia could learn a thing or two from this :P
Not just Korea, but most countries in Asia could teach Australia how to do infrastructure well. Our country is just embarrassing with our 3rd world airports, public transport and rail network.

That is not first class. First class has a 2-1 configuration on the KTX.
Did you watch further into the video? 😏

How much is the first class fare to Busan. And is there another train aside from ktx.
We're planning to go to busan in February 2024.
The fare is about USD95. There are other trains besides KTX, but this one is most frequent and popular.
