This is super helpful! I’m going for a month to S Korea on my own in October so I really appreciate this info! I’m 60 years old so this is my birthday present to myself for hitting the big 6-Oh.
Im so glad! I hope you have a great trip!
You speak Korean? I'll be there too in October solo, kinda nervous ahahha
@@zachohare3772 i speak very basic conversational Korean and understand more than I can speak haha but honestly I rarely had to speak it at all, aside from maybe ordering food 🤔 you’ll be just fine i’m sure!
Hey, we'll be there in October as well. I hope you have a GREAT time in Korea! And Happy Birthday!
Congratulations on your upcoming birthday! As you probably know, traveling alone forces you to meet people. Have fun! (I’m so jealous…my trip to SK is planned for next year.)
I just visited Korea, and trust me, its such a beautiful country, with vibrant people who go out of their way to help you, and just an overall wonderful place thats a MUST VISIT. the sad part was i didn't want to leave haha ;((
thats totally how i feel everytime i visit! I feel like there's so much more to see!
환영합니다!
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy can i ask u something sister pls
what upp with the grandmas?
Oh yes Korean is a beautiful country ❤️
I just went on my first solo travel trip to SK and the walking shoe situation is so true. I walked around 20k steps a day, so i'm really glad I bought new sneakers with memory foam soles prior to the trip :D
So worth the investment for good shoes! 😂
yellow seats are for disable or elderly person not just for elderly. If you can't walk or something like that you can use that seat. It is 교통약자석 in Korean. and also pink seats are for pregnant woman.
it doesn't matter if you're physically in South Korea or not while shooting this video, it was very insightful and you managed to make it super smooth and eye catchy! thanks a lot

When I went to Korea, everyone was so nice. Several times on the subway we would stand at the subway map on the wall probably looking lost and some would come up to us and ask if we needed help.
Thank you for making this video 💜
Very helpful and informative 🙂
Glad you found it helpful!

Thank you so much for the video! Very informative! My brother and I just bought our tickets yesterday!! We leave for South Korea on the 18th of April. We are super stoked!! We’ve been wanting to do this for 3 years now. The only thing I’m worried about is not wanting to leave 😅

Great review - shame, you weren't around a month ago when I went! Definitely agree about the T-Money Card - I've kept mine as I've every intention of going back. Many thanks. 🇰🇷
Oh yeah definitely! Mine is from my trip back in 2018!! 😬
Very helpful video. Thank you 👍🏻
Hey, this is my first video I watched from you and I really really liked the content and how you did it (sorry I'm not an english pro lol). I actually don't comment on videos but I think you deserve just much more support and viewers!!

I’m moving to korea(south) when I’m 25 and this is gonna help so much thanks (I’m 25 in a year)❤
Ohh my wow @AdventuresofAwkardAmy ... this is THE best vlog to help travelers get ready for travel to Korea! Thank you for posting this. I went 2 years ago and fell in love with how easy it is to travel tbere. Am packing again now for a month travel to Seoul, etc (everywhere accessible by subway and train... will travel 😂) and these tips are such helpful reminders! 🙏 Kamsamnida
P.s. train by rail pass (highly discounted for foreign nationals to Korea are avail on KLook... not sure if this the best source of rail passes tho, in Korea and Japan... they are great for traveling visitors!)
Thanks for the kind words!! Hope you have a great trip!
Thank you so much for your advices! You are so charming ✨
thank you!! ☺️
This is so useful, thank you!! I'm going to Koreas later this month so I've written down so many of your tips thank you!
Yay! So glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much, this was so informative and pleasant to watch! Love your personality, and your home is gorgeous! God bless and thanks for the tips
thank you!!
Yay! Thanks for the Info! I want to visit maybe October of next year if not maybe spring of 2024. 😊 This is very helpful. I have a while but I wanna save some money.
I Especially need to leave space in my suitcase! I tend to overpack but I definitely wanna bring home some goodies!
Haha yes definitely! Or there’s always buying a last minute suitcase for the trip home 😂😅
Me too, I got extra side dishes and soup in A Korean and Chinese restaurants there..
They also gave me a little discount because I paid in cash ..
I love Korean vendors and restaurant owners and staff .
They are so friendly and kind 🥰
im gonna be in Korea for all of May and i found this really helpful :3 if anybody wants to grab a coffee and walk around Seoul, i am game!! 👀
also side note but the music in the beginning and end really gave me such a flashback to coffee and vanilla (the Japanese drama) and it really made me so happy hearing it XD
Love the video. Going there in October!
thank you!! hope you have a wonderful trip!
Great video - thanks :) I'm going back in October. One top tip though, I took a Revolut card with me last time and it meant that I could take out cash from an ATM without any charges and the rate of the day :)
Nice video, im visiting SKorea after 2 weeks and I really don’t know much about it 😅
Wow, I was hesitant going by myself but so many in the comments are going solo; I guess I can do it as well! Potentially going alone after going to Tokyo in early March!
Thank you! Off to Korea and Japan end of Sept 2023 to mid Oct 2023. Solo too. First time in Asia and getting nervous. Watching lots of kdramas to help with my Korean!! Ha ha
Hahaha definitely the best way to practice korean 🤪
Underrated channel.
im going to korea sometime in september solo i can't wait, little nervous i only travelled to japan for my 21st bday was awesome now i will be 28 i cant wait to eat all the food..
This girl is Goat lol. Literally answering all my questions
Yay glad i could help!! 😊
Magnifique vidéo 👍 jador merci beaucoup 👍🌷❤️💋🇨🇵
Going to Korea soon. 🔥
Hello ma'am, your content is so helpful . God bless
i've travelled to seoul twice with my parents but i'm going just with my friends for the first time for our grad trip!! i'm very nervous because i've never planned a trip before and my parents and i often got around seoul by using our chinese knowledge to guess the words, but i'm as great at reading chinese myself. can't wait for the trip though!!
So exciting!! I literally used papago to translate everything everywhere so don’t worry! Getting acquainted with the transportation system is usually my greatest fear when visiting a place, but you’ve already been before so you got this!!!
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy thanks!! it helps that i’m from hong kong so i’m very used to a similar transport system hahaha- definitely going to download pagogo as well as write down the korean stations names of where we’re planning to go
환영합니다 감사합니다 어서오세요!
즐거운 한국 여행 하세요.
Thank you so much for this video. I'm going in Seoul in August next year and I'm so stressed because it's the first time I'm going outside of my country alone. But this video is gonna be very helpful 🥰
I also have a question. I didn't really understand the part about the price (sorry english is not my first language 😅). Is the price in Korea with the taxes or not?
@@minnie._01 the price you see on the tag is what you pay!
@@AdventuresofAwkwardAmy okay thank you for your answer 😊
Thanks for sharing 💕☺️
Thanks for watching and hope it was helpful!!
If you got the time it would be really nice if you make a video all about the currency from US currency to SK currency and explain how it works! 😊
Hi !! I really enjoyed your video 🥰 definitely one of the most helpful ones I've seen. I have a question about how much spending money I should take though... I really enjoy cafes and clothes shopping so I was wondering how much you would suggest I take? My trip is coming up soon and I'll also be there for a month 😆💖
Aww thank you so much! But oooof thats a tough one - if you’re talking cash vs card, i would only bring maybe like $100-$150usd equivalent of cash (and even then, it might be surplus) since cafes will most likely take card. But if you’re talking budget, thats really up to the individual. I spent a range of $10-$15usd for a drink+dessert at cafes during my trip. I hope that was helpful? 😅
Hi..Thank you for your tips! It is really helpful. We are gng to Korea for 1st time in March 2023.
Pls recommend good airbnb in myeongdong area and local guide.
Thanks alot
환영합니다!
Welcome, welcome!
ty for this! I plan on putting together like....3,500 - 5,000 in savings to travel to Hongdae for a month over winter :)
Good info 👍
Thank you for the tips. I can't wait to start planning my trip. I was mainly concerned with the level of Korean language I needed.
hope you have tons of fun! yeah my proficiency level is just so-so, but i definitely knew other foreigners who had little to no proficiency in the language and they were able to get around fine. it all just depends on what you want to do!
Thank you so much for this video. It was very helpful.. Ive heard of people bringing an empty piece of luggage when they travel to put all their shopping items in it. Or they just bring a couple of items and shop for everything when they get their.
Hahah yes i have had friends who nest their suitcases when they go so they have a completely empty suitcase for their haul when they come back 😅
